Yes you need a map to be able to set waypoints :) Not sure how to do it on a GPS though.

3-5 Satchels can normally blow up building. Also I heard that every time a player is hit by a zombie inside a building the building has a slight chance of collapsing.

Take a look at some guides on youtube for instance Sacriel42 did a guide Just take a look around youtube, also just try to get a feel of the game through boot camp in Single player. Mess around with the game in editor. Here is a online map http://avidblur.com/arma2/ Try to find a map in the game as well. Search around supermarkets, deer stands, barracks (when you're better equipment) or you can head straight to Cherno because you have nothing to lose. Also take a look at this video Just don't forget to look around yourself as it can be more enjoyable. But tbh fumbling around and failing a lot at the start of my DayZ experience made me absolutely adore the game, have fun with the game. I'm sure you'll enjoy it :D

Whenever I try to kill a zed with a melee weapon, It constantly goes through them and doesn't do any damage.

Same thing happened to me. Luckily a group of my mates were in close proximity and one had an epi-pen.

I agree with no. 3 but I'm sure it's been suggested many a time. As for no. 5 they've taken away guns when you spawn for a reason.
