Hatchet + Stealth + desire to live = unstoppable force.

no worries mate

Zombies are spawned locally. Meaning if you're in a town and zombies start to spawn, they're spawning because of you. If you leave, they're removed. This is a memory management process. If you log back in, there'll be a small window where there won't be any zombies around you. You can test this by shooting your gun, aggro'ing zombies, logging out to the lobby and back in again. You'll see the zombies are gone. not sure it did monster :)

BEFORE putting your primary in your bag, make sure you have more than the 10 slots. This is because you'll likely have ammo for it. What the game will do is put the rifle in the bag along with as much ammo as it can, but if you still have ammo on your person and try to push that into the bag as well, you'll likely lose the gun to your bag monster that gobbles it all up. That said, sometimes you can be lucky and a see you stuff on the floor after it's been pushed out by the bag (as this is what is actually happening) but it more likely that it'll fall through the floor into oblivion.

This is the fix you're after.

Need some advice.. low on blood, passing out..what would you do?
fearz0r replied to -MadTommy's topic in New Player Discussion
You should get to residential properties or a super market in a smaller town and load up on all the food you can find. I wouldn't bother with blood packs unless you're luck enough to know someone who will give you a transfusion as afaik you can't self-transfuse. FYI - cooked meat gives 1000 hp(or blood) -
wow really?? I find an AK in one nearly every night. Granted there are many that i've come across that had nothing but trash or where raided previously. I say keep away from big towns or airfields only until you're comfortable and have gear and weapons that can help you in those areas. Your life expectancy will drop considerably when you're in those areas as they're points of interest.

Dude, I feel your pain. But I must confess, I did laugh. I personally wouldn't have helped him, I might have given him a bandage via his pack and legged it before he was done fixing himself, but I most certainly wouldn't turn my back on someone who moments prior tried to hack me to death

Don't use 6launcher, use DayZ Commander. much better UI, customisable filters.. just better. http://www.dayzcommander.com/

Stay away from big towns. Keep to the woods. Look for Deer towers (good guns and loot). Raid smaller town. Go to super markets in smaller towns. When you hear shots, run in the opposite direction if well covered (i.e. in woodlands) or crounch/prone your way to well covered areas. Play at night until you're geared up. It's easier as Zombies don't aggro from 100 meters away as you more or less have 0 on your visibility meter.

That was the previous release mate.

This is to the forum gods! I am limited to the number of :beans: I can give others in these forums. It's a shame. I've had a thread where I've received some really great replies, and although it doesn't really do much, I still want to give these guys and gals some :beans: as thanks. Can you up the amount of :beans: people can give out oh noble bean gods in the sky! :D

Haha, that's the kind of awesome post I want to give my Beans to! :D Cheers DahBunny

THIS CANT BE TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!
fearz0r replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
lol - op, chill man. Its not like you wasted 2 weeks doing this. Get some friends online and you'll have this sorted in no time. You can't honestly be surprised at being killed.. I mean, you're fixing something that is really sought after, and just when it's finished (i.e. you did all the work) a predator moves in and takes it (and you). Have some mates watch your back. -
Well seeing as our goal is to explore, and that we stay clear of most large towns or places of interest, we felt this town was small enough to venture in. Neither of us really know where people tend to hang out (except from the main towns or airfields) so we weren't to know.. But that said, thanks for the advice

:o oh dear.. I will steer clear of you then matey :bandit:  he gets it! Exactly. Most people never consider that, in any game let alone this one. In this game, it means even more to someone when they die. Some people just don't consider that when they kill. I do think this boils down to how you play the game though. You can just rock up to Day Z, grab any weapon, head to Cherno or Electro and start having shoot out. But if you turn up with the goal of staying alive while seeing the game world, you'll quickly see how serious it is to live through things, kill others, the cost of shooting and looting.. its just more complex and engrossing than most people realise. So many are missing out... :( That's fantastic! I'm looking forward to reading it after work! ^_^

Thanks buddy, I do try to give atmosphere to my stories. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Don't! please.. I'm not a murderer.. I'm not! *sobs*... Thanks for beans matey! glad you liked the story. Thanks for the great feedback Flail, I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed it. I feel compelled to write more short stories after all the positive comments I've received in this thread. Watch this space.

I'm completely blown away at how many people seem to like my story. Although it was a bit of an unfortunate experience for me, I think sharing events like these really bring together the mod's community. I'm thinking about maybe writing a survivors log, tracking our (Sean and I) stories and adventures (or misadventures) for the forum and community. I do believe half of the appeal for me is reading other people's experiences in this mod, how it affects them and makes them do things they never thought they would do. Thanks to all that took time to read my story. Indeed. You sound like you've had some great adventures too. You should document them as well :) I could have stayed prone. I wanted to. I don't like to kill in this mod. But I just didn't feel safe. I did fear for my life, and so did what I felt I had to do. I couldn't bring myself to ransack his bag after gunning him down. I do hope he collected it, but if not, I'm sure someone else would have. Thank man, as a true survivor, I'll take whatever I can get ^_^ I don't agree buddy. I'm not playing this, I'm experiencing. I behave in game how I behave in life. I don't want to desensitise myself to killing others. In a simulator, that's just too similar to the real thing. Not my cup of tea basically mate ^_^ Sure, I'll be starting over in a few days as a friend of mine wants to try out Day Z. PM me and i'll add you to my Skype. Thanks mate, I appreciate the time you took to read it.

I don't think it's just kids that are complaining. There are many adults here too that came expecting 28 Days later with machine guns and instead got a hardcore, fear driven, human psyche straining simulator. I for one play it like a simulator. I didn't come here wanting Dead Island or Left 4 Dead, I wanted a simulator that really pressured players, making their emotions bubble. I love this mod. There's nothing wrong with it.

- Game purchase with Monthly fee - Only if the game received monthly updates and content. else a one-off payments. - Community developed if one-off payment, or studio if purchase with a monthly fee. - Kickstarter -- definitely. Also, should have done a poll perhaps?

Very true. I think two things struck me when the player turned on his torch; Firstly, "WTF! A torch! Shit, he might actually see me in the bushes!" And secondly, "Oh god.. He's either quite new or a risk taking brave vet who can handle a hostile situation should one arise" I guess he was the former. :( Indeed, I do still feel bad now. But as you say, if this was in real life I would probably be a real wreck right now. Yeah, that's exactly why I stay clear of the big towns and airfields... unwanted attention and conflict. ^_^
-
I won't alt-F4 because a) it doesn't work for me and b ) I don't get into those situations. If I stumble upon another player and he hasn't seen me, I'll stay low and let him leave.
-
Epic. I've had a couple of situations like that too. It's actually terrifying running with a stranger, even though you've spent the last 20 minutes finding gear and weapons, and once kitted out there's an electricity in the air... you both know two things; 1) you don't know this person or what they're thinking/planning. And 2) you both have the means to kill each other. In my case I found a Makarov and stayed crouched in the building with the other survivor. I game chat to him, "look, I've found a Makarov, I'm completely friendly and I have nothing to gain from killing you as I know you have nothing on you" ...he still ran out of the building and down the road. About ten minutes later, I'm crouched by some bins behind some buildings and I saw the same guy run passed. I shout out "Hey, buddy.. I'm on your left. Do you need a hand any mor.." I pause, I see he now has a gun, a double barrel shotgun. He turns and sees me.. 'BOOM!' he shoots, and misses, 'BOOM!' he tries again!! I shout "MATE, FRIENDLY, F-R-I-E-N-D-L-Y!!"... but yet he reloads. Instincts kick in, I shoot, but I don't want to kill him, I feel like he's only trying to stay alive and I must have startled him. My shots ring out, 'BANG BANG BANG BANG'... the wall near him erupts from the hits. He dives down to the ground, I step behind the bins I'm next to, equip a smoke grenade and throw it in his direction. The smoke grenade quickly masks his body, I wait for one second, 'BOOM, BOOM' goes his shotgun again! "Right, f**k this!" I think to myself, and I sprint out from behind the bins, around the corner, through the smoke, down behind the fire station, up the hill and off into the distance... Since then, I've only played with people I know and avoid all other players like the plague. "Elp me" :D

Not quite, I've actually reinforced my humanity.

Wow, thanks guys. I really appreciate the comments.
