bye bye hackers ... you will not be missed
Thorne (DayZ) replied to trashcanman67's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
For every hacker that BattleEye bans, ten more players start hacking the next day. As rocket stated, the Arma II engine cannot be locked down. It is one of the most easily exploited game engines on the market. As such, the amount of hacking for the DayZ mod will just get worse and worse. -
Theres nothing to do in DayZ
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Eazy-Makaveli's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Have you tried hacking? Hacking is the ultimate "end game" for DayZ. -
Where are the 1200000 players?
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Nille (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I know over a dozen friends who have stopped playing DayZ due to the rampant hacking. It's just not worth playing the game if you are mass-teleported and script-killed every hour. -
Hackers. Hackers everywhere.
Thorne (DayZ) replied to nikinor's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Welcome to HackZ. And while the mod becomes unplayable due to hacking and very little is being done to stop it, rocket is still giving more pointless interviews. -
Being friendly just doesn't seem worth it...
Thorne (DayZ) replied to daspope's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Your first sentence contradicts your second sentence. You first instruct him to ignore the actions of other players, and then advise him to consider the actions of other players: "Don't pick your clothes based on what others think. Stay away from flip-flops or Hawaiian shirts if you don't want to be bullied." -
So, I use hacks, this is WHY
Thorne (DayZ) replied to manwitdaplan's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion

Great thread. Thanks for the info. -
I'm seriously done.
Thorne (DayZ) replied to roflcopter127@yahoo.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bear in mind most of the forum posters replying to your thread are likely hackers themselves. Many of the forum veterans in this community have already been identified in YouTube videos as hacking in-game. -
Welcome to HackZ.

Yes. Welcome to HackZ. -
Hacking is getting out of hand.
Thorne (DayZ) replied to MrShifty's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Many forum posters here are hackers/scripters in-game. If you are expecting to get sympathy from them, it's not going to happen. It's kinda ironic that you're venting here about hackers when many of the people reading your thread are likewise hacking the game. You might as well go to a Democratic forum and whine about Obama. You'll get the same negative response. Case in point: -
Free stuff (Closing down server 26th of August)
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Colonel Shade.'s topic in New Player Discussion
Although that is true, the problem lies in the player community: Most DayZ players prefer hacking and griefing to actually playing the game. -
Can Dayz Zombies be played offline? & Cheats Question
Thorne (DayZ) replied to brettuk's topic in New Player Discussion
... Why are you "surprised" that he is asking how to hack? Almost every DayZ player he meets in this game will be hacking too. -
... Yes. And the best part is this: A week after you start playing HackZ, you'll laugh that you even asked this question.

Hacker/cheater report.

M4A1 CCO unsilenced?
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Lysander_of_Sparta's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The M4A1 CCO unsilenced weapon type is in the game and thus is not hacked, but the weapon your friend gave you is likely duped. Hackers love duping this weapon type... So, in an indirect sense, yes, it is likely a hacked weapon. -
Average Life Expectancy up to 65 minutes
Thorne (DayZ) replied to DeadOnDrugs's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It could also mean more DayZ players using invincibility hacks and thus living longer. -
hacked/scripted weapons
Thorne (DayZ) replied to MadJim (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That is actually quite common in DayZ. Admins often engage in hacking and then ban players who ruin their hacking fun. Many server admins in DayZ like to create their own servers precisely so they can hack and dupe items in peace. -
Dayz reminds me of Fallout New Vegas
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Brutal-Hunter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love Fallout New Vegas, but it is missing an important ingredient. DayZ adds something Fallout lacks: Hackers. Let's face it: Nothing captures the "dog-eat-dog" realism of life like a hacker teleporting and mass-killing everyone. -
Why not make everything server sided?
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Slickback (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
First, welcome to HackZ. Within a month, the rampant hacking will likely have ruined any enjoyment you currently derive from this game. Second, the problem with hacking in DayZ is only partly caused by the open-ended, client-side design of the Arma II engine. It is also partly caused by the type of gamers that DayZ attracts. For some reason, this game attracts a substrata of immature individuals who derive pleasure from hacking or griefing more than actually playing the game. There are many YouTube videos of notable DayZ forum veterans hacking in-game. In a sense, the DayZ community is its own worst enemy and the current hacking phenomenon highlights its collective flaws. As many DayZ players like griefing others, they tend to favor hacking over regular gameplay. -
Actually . . . Since many players are blatantly hacking on an hourly basis without punishment and very few are punished, the claim that hacking is "not allowed" in DayZ is hilarious. That is like saying "jay-walking isn't allowed" even though most people in cities jay-walk all the time.

How do you pronounce DayZ?
Thorne (DayZ) replied to Venomexus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My friends and I call it Hack-Zee too. -
Considering that most DayZ players are hackers, you're basically suggesting that we don't kill most DayZ players.
