I think he means turning it off by renaming/deleting game files (which is a cheat, since it's not part of the way the game was designed). Plus like I said, servers that check .pbo files will not let you join. Simply turning the object detail to very low or whatever will remove most of the grass, and that's not a cheat or exploit since it's something that you can do inside the game (without mucking around with the files), like using 3rd person.

Wow, if those are the settings you have to run the game at (looks like a PS2 game), maybe you *do* need to have the grass off. IMO it's a cheat, but if your computer only has integrated graphics or something then maybe it's ok. I play at servers that have .pbo checking turned on anyway, so people who delete/rename files won't be able to get in.

Don't put vehicles by tents if you don't want them to get spotted. Vehicles tend to show up in thermal, and depending on your graphical settings they stick out like a sore thumb anyway (a tractor in a forest far away just looks like a cube sticking out of some trees on low detail). If you care about your stuff, don't hoard vehicles - they are best treated as temporary things.

Has there been a lot of dying due to the new patch? I'm curious because coastal towns have been even more like war zones than they were before the patch. I suppose it's doing to people dying for whatever reason and respawning on the coast? There was some hilarious scene in the Elektro grocery store on this one server I was at, there were no less than 5 corpses (including 1 in a ghillie suit) inside, along with 5 ALICE packs. It was almost like some ironic statement, "they could have each had an ALICE pack if they had learned to share..but instead everyone ends up dead and nobody gets one." Also, it seems like the corpses of players with ghillie suits cannot be looted? At least the menu was not showing up for that one guy in the grocery store, maybe he was just in a bad spot.

94997 works well for me, BUT when I restart six-launcher it seems to revert me back to the old beta, so for some reason I have to run the patch every single time I want to join a 94997 server.

The most important thing is your video card, according to this: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6650M.43962.0.html Will probably be okay at medium detail even though the CPU is fairly slow (but probably still as fast as your desktop, since the Athlon II X2 is fairly old these days as well). And you only have to run it at 768p.

Yo, Just started Dayz a couple of days ago, been doing well but I'm looking for some more people to team up with. Ideally be people at my experience level - a couple of week of Dayz experience and people that have microphones who want to play on the Midwest servers (I'm from the Chicago area).
