How to disable laptop touchpad in game DayZ

Why don't you disable it outside the game? You should have a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable the touchpad. In this laptop for example it's Fn+F3, check your keyboard for hints. If you have nothing or nothing happens when you try the shortcut, you probably never installed the touchpad drivers. Go to the homepage of your laptop's manufacturer, and find the Touchpad drivers in the download section. It will let you disable it anytime, I'm sure. Cheers, Lupine
  2. Hey guys, The main RPT logfile has been spamming this one like crazy: 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" 17:05:01 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [185050c0# 1055387: tt650.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "108747231770141"" this is repeated several times per second every second. The logfile is reaching ridiculous sizes in just a couple of hours. Anyone know how I can fix this? I gathered that tt650 is an ATV. Is this an ATV constantly receiving damage, like downhill against a tree? Or maybe in the water? Does it ever get killed? SO MANY QUESTIONS. Cheers

(Rocket) Why are we logging in on the coast

It only happened to me when closing the game because I was stuck on Loading... somewhere. Only at those cases. I was able to switch between servers without spawning at the beach, as long as the servers don't make me close the game for Loading issues. Is there any official word?

    Was this a hacker?

So, if we get rid of that particular vehicle they had, is that enough? Or can he jump teleport to any vehicle spawned on that server? Cheers

    Was this a hacker?

Me and some friends were on NWA, filling Jerries, when another car showed up. We started shooting, shit hit the fan, they killed 1 of us and we first got 2 of them, and after sneaking from behing I found and kill the third and last one. We took their car and ours and headed to a camp. An hour later, this "TheWalking" guy that was the last to die before, appears near us (we were far from the coast) and does a beeline to their car. It was pitch black, he didn't have NVGs or anything at all, really. He got into the car and one of us shot him down. No message appeared in the server saying "X was killed". No flies were heard. But the body was there. A "study body" said it was TheWalking again. He had no gear. Not even a flashlight, nor a backpack. So, is there a hack that I don't know, teleports you near a vehicle that you tagged or something? I wouldn't want to ban the guy unless it was absolutely clear that he was hacking... but if this isn't ZOMG H4X, I don't know what is. Cheers, Lupine

2 UK players looking for more people to group with

There's more than one soulstealer on steam. Which profile pic are you using there? (found ya... third page)

    Punishing bandits? Shut up, seriously.

Rocket has stated that the bandit vs survivor thing is left to the players to fix. THAT BEING SAID, he still added that "viligantes" (people fighting back bandits) don't have a complete set of tools or options for this, and it will improve in the future. So nobody knows what's in store exactly, or how many patches till we get there, but I believe options are coming around. Time will tell.
  8. You can still talk to people on Direct Comm, both voice and text. What's wrong with that? I've met 50/50 nice people/pkers this way.
  9. Starting weapons are out and hopefully never coming back. It takes 10 min tops to find a weapon when you know what you're doing, and other players tend to NOT shoot you if you're unarmed. If everyone had a sidearm and 1 clip, it would turn to a deathmatch pretty quick just to get the spare ammo. No reason to kill a new spawn now if you find one running at the beach. Regarding global chat, go to Dallas 3. It's enabled there. I often hop on there for a bit to get a "feel" of the server's community. After hearing some voices and topics though, I always switch to another server. It has pros and cons. But try it out and then think what i would be like to happen in all servers. I guarantee you wouldn't like that. Cheers, Lupine
  10. The zombie aggro is buffed, we all noticed that, not much to add to other thoughts. BUT, I do find them very easy to lose now. Almost accidentally, I zigzagged between buildings looking for openings, and noticed that they weren't aggroing anymore. I tried it out some more, and indeed, if stealth fails I now run to the nearest house and: * If it's a hatchet-friendly place, I search around, pick the hatchet, and let it loose at the walking zombie train (barns are the best for this) * If it's not, but the place has 2 exits, I go through there and lose them at a corner. I've lost more than the average this way. Frankly, since doing one or the other and always knowing where I am (dayzdb.com map), I have rarely died at the beginning. If the zombies are indeed easier to lose as I've experimented so far, I'm ok with the zombie changes. But what I'd really like to see is simply more official data regarding zombie behavior now. Being correctly informed makes all the difference. Cheers, Lupine
  11. Well, I love the fact that you don't spawn with a weapon. Here's why: * Adds to the authenticity. * While it is rare to spawn near another new player, or being able to camp in a "sure spot" where people will spawn due to limited number of player per server and the random placement, it de-encourages trying to fish por new spawns in order to get loads of ammo. Now there is absolutely no reason to. * You always spawn near a house/city with a possible weapon. You may have to elude 1 or 2 infected to get in, and if no weapon is there, you can always take a few empty cans to throw at other infected that are camping the next lootable houses to make it easier. * If the above point doesn't go as planned because of erratic or buggy infected behavior, keep in mind that this will probably work better in later stages of development. Don't hate on the spirit of a mechanic because it's not perfectly oiled yet.
