    how many ppl will quit when.....

    My first playthrough i died getting stuck in a residential house door with a town full of zombies on me. The character was 3 days old and had above average weapons and full survival gear + med supplies. If i had known about aborting I would have More bugs like that. - Getting stuck in walk mode. Cant prone can't crouch can't do anything part from crawl around, if that happens in the middle of a town full of zombies. Dead - Gun being raised lowered raised lowered raised lowered Yesterday I died to a guy, my character was 7 days old and had very good weapons and everything part from cammo clothes and a rangefinder. He attacked me, standing up. I went prone, put about 20 7.62 mm rounds in him that 3 bursts of 2 to 3 shots and a full auto burst after his first shot hit me. He just stood there not even trying to get into cover. If I had known he was invunerable, I would have logged out. See where I'm getting at ? Here is what i'd suggest. Make it possible for survivors to do it and make it impossible for bandits to do it. Because just fixing it will play more in favor of hackers (who are obviously not in this to survive but just to PvP) part from creating frustration because of the bugs in the engine. What you have in this game right now is two groups of people. A) the ones who play it fair and square. Those are the ones who are afraid to die because they know that if they do die it will take days before they are back on their feet, even if you do have storage somewhere its still going to be painful to lose that one silenced gun you had ammo for. This penalty forced you to play realisticly. To take less risks in gunfights, to run away at times when the odds are bad. Etc. B) The people who cheat / exploit, get equipment easy. They die but they are back on their feet in half an hour to an hour tops. They almost play this game like its call of duty or battlefield 3. Small penalty for a death, unrealistic, risky gameplay. Group B is getting bigger, Group A is starting to get frustrated and quit.

    Wow things have gotten pretty bad

    I'm not surprised I'm tempted to start doing it after yesterday where I got killed by some guilie suited guy who found me in the middle of nowhere who opened fire, I went prone let him have 20 rounds 7.62mm at 25m while he just stood there and killed me. 7 day old character with everything part from NV goggles, cammo and rangefinder bye bye. Great mod, too many hackers.
  3. Put about 20 rounds of my M240 in someone at 15m range while he just stood there and killed me. Must be some script available to get that result then yes.

    If you guys want realism....

    Normaly I play my fps games in first person but not arma II. Reason, simple for some reason this game makes me motion sick in first person. The first time I played the single player campaign in arma I had to get away from the computer after 20 minutes because I was about to throw up. Tried it again the next day, same story. This NEVER ever happened to me in another game and I've been playing games for almost 30 years now. Its something with the graphics engine I tell you, even turning the head movement down all the way still makes me feel sick. No 3rd person, no arma II for me or DayZ.

    "Hey, I know you!"

    Being "scanned" by someone accidently moving their binocs over me is one thing but it does not bother me as much as the range indicator. When it shows the distance to your target it turns binoculars in a range finder making the last item obsolete on those servers that allow nametags. As far as the alpha version goes and if it makes people happy I'd not mind the names enabled if you manage to keep them in your sight for lets say 5 to 7 seconds as long as there is no range. Everybody with a M24 or one of the .50 sniper rifles that can be zerod in can land a shot on you once they know the distance. If they have to calculate it themselves using mildots its another story.

    Radio-The future of Dayz

    Funny I only recently starting playing this game and I mentioned exactly the same thing to my friends. Instead of the channels as they are now add radio channels. Now how cool would it be if part from the global channel that all radios would pick up you could add a channel number to it. ranging from 1 to 99. You could sit on a hilltop and go through channels hoping to pick up a channel of 2 groups talking over their plans. And it would be better if there were different radios with different signal strenght. Or a chance of your radio losing alot of range under certain weather conditions.

    Multiple charakters

    Agree but i can see the complications and the exploiting already not to mention it would double the storage needed to store player info. - Looting your own body - being able to pick up twice as many items by bringing both your characters to a spot - Getting killed, logging in a new character there fast and killing the guy who killed you agreed it would take alot of time to bring both your characters to roughly the same location before taking any actions but when it comes to exploiting you'd be surprised how low people are willing to go. IDEALLY i'd have one character to play solo and one character to play with my friends. Maybe by giviving each account 2 unique identification codes the second character adding an extra number. Then preventing both of them to log onto the same server within 1 hour. Example character 1 of player X has the ID: 1234567A Character 2 of player X has the ID: 1234567B If 1234567A has been on the server 1234567B is not allowed on it for at least 1 hour after A disconnected.

    DayZ - ACE (No CoD Kiddie Comments)

    Adding ACE would allow for the zombie sprint speed to be lowered too since you can't outrun them forever. The carry and drag animations are already part for the original game and would be nice. What would the function be of carrying a person ? Being able to run with him on your back for 100 m to carry your buddy with a broken leg into a building ? because it would be pretty useless as your speed on foot carrying him would be lower than his speed crawling, he'd be better off crawling.
  9. I've recently started playing this mod meaning I never started out with a gun. My first character lived for well, 10 minutes, my second one lived for 5 days and died getting stuck in a doorway with 12 zombies bashing at me. Suggestions for starter kit -Turn the hunting knife into a weapon like the hatchet but with a slightly shorter melee range - Hunting knife - 1 can of coke - 2 bandages Raw meat (same properties as cooked meat but with 1000 units of blood restoration ) - Allow people to eat it with a 30% chance of getting sick - Sicknes first results in coughing, progresses to dropping body temperature (38 max instead of 42 max). In the final stage of the illness random shaking can occur when the body temperature drops under 38
