What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Arnie (DayZ) replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I played DayZ the mod, and quit because of the hacking. I played Day standalone untill, today; my entire party of 5 all pretty much agreed on teamspeak that they "could not be bothered with this unplayable shit anymore" Unplayable meaning, too many hackers. What led upto todays quitting our hardcore server exclusive DayZ party is the following. Encounter 1 NE airfield we go in with 5 people. 4 with an SKS, 1 with a Mossin. Everything covered stacked up at the door with 2 people for entry 3rd covering the door. Door opens instant M4 bullet rain from a guy sitting behind the stair covering the door. So yes, one of us down and him down. We check his corps. M4, 8 double mags, all his other gear in protective cases etc. Then his buddy shows up with his M4, he dies. His gear an almost identical copy of his buddy. While we are patching ourselves up 2 Bambis show up at the airport not even 2 minutes after those 2 douchebags died. Yelling Don't shoot don't shoot !!! then attacking with their fists a buddy of mine shot one, the other got punched out. Server switch to avoid the douchebags Encounter 2, Can't be arsed to type it all out. Shot by someone inside the wall, 2 of our party down before we knew which wall he was shooting through. The 3 others go for him from the two entrances in the building. He travels through the floor to kill one then faces the other door, and shoots the guy coming from that side. He exposed himself for that so the last guy of the party snipes him, kills him. About 1 minute later a guy looking just like the one who died shows up and kills the last surviving member of the party Yet time for another server Encounter 3. 1 of our group, near one of the spawn locations one of our group dies to a very fast moving guy, 20 seconds later a second member of our party who spawned near him dies to a very fast moving guy. Then people started to log because they could not be bothered to meet up again and find something to shoot with. At this point the mod is a waste of time. And to the guy whining about being banned. Go whine at battleye to whoever has to listen to you and your fello douchebags "the dog ate my homework" excuses. God knows that job would not be for me as I have a very low tolerance for "your" kind of people. -
Low FPS, Bad Performance issues.
Arnie (DayZ) replied to burlaka's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If its any comfort I'm having similar framerates on an I3570k thats clocked at 4.5ghz along with a radeon 7950 thats clocked at 1ghz. However later today I'll start my second evening of tweaking hopefully I can pass on something insightful. There is a good thread on the BI forums with suggestions by the way, some of them fairly advanced. I'll be trying those later. -
Returning to dayZ, New computer, sub 20 fps. Help !
Arnie (DayZ) replied to Arnie (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I'm sorry but i'm afraid that doesn't make sense. Yes arma 2 is not optimised. That still does not explain why it would run at 22 fps on a 3.4ghz E6600 (first gen dualcore) and a radeon 5850 while it would run slower on a 4.5ghz i3570k and a 5970. As for finding a build, 80% of the computers are roughly using the same hardware which is either a AMD or intel CPU combined with an nvidia or radeon video card. There really isn't that much difference, part from the computing power of said GPU's / CPU's and surely not enough to explain the discrepancy of the faster setup runni ng slower than the much slower setup. I knew about the memory setting. I've tried both default as well as setting it to the hard coded maximum. I'm not sure what i'm overlooking. I reverted to default settings several times before applying the various tweak guides that can be found online. I spent about 3 hours tonight of tweaking, quitting and restarting Arma. I'll give it another go tomorrow. The thing that would really be helpfull right now is someone who is using an i3570k along with a radeon video card to tell me how they are triggering the arma 2 executable and the settings they are using. -
Returning to dayZ, New computer, sub 20 fps. Help !
Arnie (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I used to play DayZ back in june but on my aging computer and after a few too many runins with blatant cheaters I binned the game for a while. However since it appeared on steam a few buddies of mine and myself are going to give it another go. Shocking result 14 to 20 fps on empty servers. Computer setup i3570k @ 4.5 Ghz Radeon 7950 @ 1 Ghz 8 Gb Ram. I've tried launching through play withSix as well as using the arma launcher, tried manually setting the number of cores, maxmem, etc. What ever i do i don't seem to be able to get this game above 20 fps. Interesting sidenote, my old computer ran this game at 22 fps on an 5850 and an overclocked E6600 with 2 gb of mem. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thx in advance. -
Fuck him in the ass ? Well, its probably the only ass, or anything else, you'll end up fucking during your insignificant existence. Unless you ended up in jail somehow but that would be bumsex on the receiving end. Since going to jail would require you to leave your basement you should be safe. They don't write scripts to hack really "important" stuff yet and even if they did I doubt even you would be dumb enough to use it. Then again Einstein once said there were only two things he thought to be infinite, the universe and human stupidity but he wasn't too sure about human stupidity. Meantime I'll just enjoy making people like you ragequit in other games. With people like you I mean people who have the motor skills of a dead parrot who can't deal with the fact that most of the words 6 year olds outplay them. There is no greater recognition in gaming than to be called a cheater or a hacker in games when you don't actually do so. In that respect its much like bumsex to to you. Have a nice day.

Identify what exactly ? Everyody knows what they are doing in and how they are doing it. Arma 2 was created with the modding community in mind. A 10 year old with a brain could go to the Bohemian interactive website, or where ever it is they keep a list of all the scripting commands these days, grab what you need, write a script and insert it. (Thats why most script kiddies use other peoples scripts because they fail at what a 10 year old could do) The problem is that the anti cheat sofware in this case battle eye is seriously failing at detecting the inserted scripts or that its so crappy that a couple of people who do know how to code write programs to bypass the cheat detection then offer that shit up for download for the cheating little griefers. Result: the current chaos. Personally its not worth my time all my friends quit before me because of the "hacking" ( read using programs someone else wrote to insert scripts someone else wrote ) If this game ever goes standalone I'll be back, I hope my friends have not been discouraged so badly by the negative experiences that they'll give the standalone version a try.

Cant join the server with pw (i know the pw)
Arnie (DayZ) replied to silent313's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
No easy gear for you. Servers should not have passwords so you can gear up without the risk of getting killed by other people only to hop to other servers later while fully geared. Naughty boys. -

New players cant get past learning curve
Arnie (DayZ) replied to Sidewinderx84's topic in New Player Discussion
It's not hard, if you want hard get the original OFP and wait till you get to the mission where you are the only survivor of your platoon and have to make it back to the extraction point. Its like playing DayZ, at night with smarter zombies who have guns and helicopters with search lights. The newer generation of gamers have been spoiled by games catering the idiotic masses, this game breaks from that pattern. Welcome to a challenge. Oh and starting with an axe. If it was upto me players would start with a watch and a bandage. Enjoy DayZ -
Would you be angry if i told you your post made me laugh out loud ?

To be honest, if i had the coding skills i'd write a 3rd party program to bypass all anti cheat serverside protection. A nice and easy one something in the line of. "Press the big blue button before starting the game to get godmode, Press the big red button before starting to game to know where noobs are on the map lolz ! Press the big green button if you want to pwn them without shooting them !!", "etc" My 3rd party program would work for 12 hours, after that, direct line to battleeye setting off every single cheat flag they have. Problem solved.

Why I like this game. Because its refreshing, I never thought I'd use these words because I've heard my father and my grandfather before him use them. "back in my day" Well here goes. Back in my day games used to be challenging and you had to figure stuff out. 90% f the games seem to be catered towards the console generation. Unfortunately as more and more people got access to the internet the more and more idiots get access. For years now I've been suffering as everything gets dumbed down more and more. Even every remake of games I used to love are watered down versions of their wonderful original. In october the remake of UFO: Enemy unknown will hit the shelves. I already cringed when I heard the maximum squad size was reduced to 6 people. I'll get it anyway but my expectations are low. Then this mod comes along kicking all the compromises made in mainstream gaming over the past decade straight in the teeth. Love it ! I'm not even worried other companies will copy the unforgiving game concept even tho they are making their "zombie survival game", they will compromise. So for those reasons. Awesome stuff. Why I don't like this mod. The ease at which people seem to be inserting scripts and the fact that alot of things are clientside. Really I love the concept, the thrill and the feeling you get when that bullet flies by your head without having any idea where its coming from because for once you do really have something at stake in a game. Now here is the catch 22. Because people who play this as its meant to be (without duping and scripting) have something to lose it becomes a very attractive target for griefers who get off on ruining other peoples fun. "omg lolz I just like killed this dude look at all his stuff man, that must have been a very old char LOLZ, nooooob !" Sorry, but I resent losing my gameplay achievements and gear that i carefully gathered over the course of a week to a spotty 14 year old. A 14 year old who downloaded 3rd parties someone else wrote, then uses scripts for it someone else wrote. Nice. If you want to be a douchebag and cheat in online games then at least get some coding skills and write your own stuff instead of being the 23429825th script kiddie who thinks he is a "hacker". I do find a little comfort in knowing that I'd kick his ass in any other online shooter which does not mean the walk from the coast back inland is always long and annoying. Why I don't play this mod right now. 1280*1024 / low settings / 22 fps. But this will be better next week.

Third person vs First person view
Arnie (DayZ) replied to Rising (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'm 37, I've been playing 1st person shooters since the original Doom. Played flightsims, helicopter sims, driving sims you name it and in all those years not a single game has made me sick while playing it as in dizzy and nausea, in other words. Motionsick. Arma II does. Outside i can last for 10 to 15 minutes but once I go inside a building I'll litteraly have to get away from my screen within minutes. Even switching back to 3rd person doesn't help anymore then. Its the arma graphics. So in this game, 3rd person for me or not playing. Part from the looking around corner things I think the biggest advantage user 3rd person occurs on servers that enable crosshairs and the rangefinding that comes along with it. 3rd person ON, CH off.
