Inventory slot counter for vehicles and tents
dope25 replied to vpope's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It'd be a bit different from backpacks since tents & vehicles have separate slots for weapons, items and tools. -
Happened to me when I let my friend with NVGs drive in the night. Rolled right through a barrier at 100km/h and killed the driver, knocked me unconscious, blew the car up. Woke up with 2000 blood and heavy bleeding but survived =D Lesson learned: Don't travel fast through towns at night, and if you do, make sure you have a passenger with you - he'll survive the crash and be able to save your gear.

Tutorial: How to get items out of crashed heli's!
dope25 replied to RogueFox's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sweet, thanks for enlightening us on that one. How did you find out though? -
Oh yes they do. Oh how much blood came out of that wookie when I had a go at him with it.
-
Most likely merged by a mod.
-
Well, calling it untrue would be wrong. I'm speaking out of experience - I, for example, could not see zombies at all, for one of two reasons: A) Arma 2 Free or that it was patched in an update. I tend to believe it was A considering how the issue was resolved after reinstalling and buying full Arma 2, which also was at the same time as the patch. The issue I had carried into -all- servers.
-
Let's not allow this to get buried.
-
If it says Zombies: 0, you're it's possible that the issue is on your end. Are you using Arma 2 Free?

Play in groups of two or more, make sure both have a flashlight of some sort (military preferably). I've crawled, walked and sprinted across a huge area without alerting a single zombie, only a bandit was dumb enough to try and shoot us, but he died. Bind flashlight to an easily accessible key such as mouse4/5, turn it on and off, just enough for you to see the terrain ahead of you / your direction and the buildings / zombies. Zombies don't react to flashlights, only players do. A military flashlight can light as far as roughly 50m and can easily be mistaken for a flare, whereas the other flashlight has a distinctive light that can be used from very very far away and can be spotted just as easily. That worked for me.
-
For those who came across a military flashlight, how does it differ from the standard yellow flashlight? Does the softer red light not aggro zombies, or is it all the same? I only lived ten minutes after stumbling upon one, so I can't tell.

Why are you people even arguing with each-other in a topic where a decision has already been made?
-
Throw a chemlight and walk away to see how visible they are.
-
If possible, try to press G while aiming at it (easier if it's with other loot) and scroll down to the bottom of the left list, you'll see the new backpack there.

What's the best way to proceed when you die?

Go all the way back to the "lobby", but don't disconnect. Then hit OK as if you just joined.
