Someone tried to rape me?

I would say the internet phrase of "pictures or it didn't happen"...but I think I'm going to go with the old fashion: BULLSHIT! -
Farthest distance you have crawled with broken legs?
Sparks (DayZ) replied to daspope's topic in New Player Discussion
Komarovo to Cherno. I had a friend with me and it was the middle of the night. I just picked him up on the coast after he had died. Zombie smacked me and snapped my legs like a twig. Thankfully after an hour and half or so of crawling with my buddy covering me. We made it to cherno got the morphine and got out. Don't remember when I died but it wasn't for a few days after the adventure so I think it was worth it. Was bloody nerve wracking dodging zombies in the dark purely by the sound of their grunts and moans. I am always under the idea of "Never click respawn". This is your life, treat it as if its your only one, deal with it until the game kills you. Don't take the easy way out. Besides if you survive, you may just have one hell of an adventure to tell others. But then I get into the role of the game because its so immersive. So it really depends on you, if you don't think its worth it or fun then just respawn. Remember its a game and if your not having fun, why are you playing. -
This is the main reason why the skin was removed in the first place. To stop people from immediately going "AH HA! I can kill this guy and not feel guilty about it because he is an evil murdering bastard!". Now whether or not bandit skins should be in the game, I don't know and that doesn't seem to be the point of this thread. As to the humanity thing, I'm pretty sure its "suppose" to only subtract humanity from you equal to the amount of humanity your target had upon his death. There might also be something about the number of times you shot them, I'm not sure. In any case, the way I understand it, killing a bandit player (which usually but not always means they have 0 humanity or less, if it is possible to go into the negatives.) does not gain you humanity, it just means you wont lose any. Keep in mind, the humanity system likely has bugs in it and isn't working properly anyway so who can say for sure one way or the other. Anyway here is a Link to the Day Z wiki humanity page which is where I get most of my info: http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Humanity

Hey guys, I've been gone from Day Z for about 2 weeks due to going on a trip so I haven't played since about July 28th or so. ISSUE: Anyway when I got back I updated Day Z to 1.7.2.4 from the previous version and got the latest Arma 2 beta which is 95883 (FYI I have the STEAM version). When I try to join a server I will successfully connect and enter the lobby of the server, however, after about 3 seconds the lobby vanishes and I get a message that reads "You were kicked off the game". This happens on ALL servers I try to join. It makes me think I may have been somehow globally banned or something except the message I'm getting just says I'm being kicked. This has been going on for a full day now. VERSIONS: Arma II: OA Beta 95883 (Steam version) Day Z: 1.7.2.4 Six Updater ATTEMPTS TO FIX: 1. Restarted computer 2. Reinstall battle eye 3. Reinstall Arma 2 and Arma 2: OA None of these have helped me and I'm at a loss as to what could have caused this. I have family members that also play this game and went on the same trip as me and they can connect just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this issue? I'm hoping if nothing else when I update to 1.7.2.5 it will fix it, though I'm not holding my breath.

Getting kicked by every server
Sparks (DayZ) replied to Sparks (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Alright, Got it working now. I used the control panel in windows to uninstall the games instead of steam, then manually deleted the @dayZ folder and made sure all other Arma 2 files in the steam folders were gone. I then reinstalled Arma 2 and Arma 2:OA using steam and Day Z using the six updater and I am no longer being kicked by servers. -
BattlEye keeps kicking me, again.

Pretty much the same thing is happening to me. No idea how to fix the damn thing. -

Spawn on coast glitch with existing character.
Sparks (DayZ) replied to KilltheInfected's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This just started happening to my character as well. When I first load my character the server will give the message "Sparks has been killed" then it will respawn me in debug plains. However, When I disconnect and relog in it spawns me WITH all my gear on the coast. -
Best Revenge Ever definatly worth the read.

Zombies are too strong! (1.7.2.3)
Sparks (DayZ) replied to fratzi (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Zombies are to weak once you figure out how to deal with them. They are to strong for those that don't know how. Rocket said this is an anti game designed to be very hard. I feel like zombies are just about right for people we no equipment or guns. Crawl and pray or run for your life and try to lose them in buildings until you arm yourself. The issue for people with military stuff up north is that zombies become minor threats. But the perplexing question is, how the hell can you scale the difficulty in such a way that it makes sense. -
Ok, 1:56 am PST, July 21st, 2012 I've managed to drive my car back to the map. I did scavange a few things out of the other cars like GPS and stuff so I could get back. I didn't save any of them so hopefully they will return to their owners in the morning. If they do not, OhBilly please send me a PM on the forums so you can decide the correct course of action.

July 21, 2012 12:42 AM PST Um....so I was sitting in a car at our camp, and I alt tabbed for a moment. When I came back my guy was glitching out and every time I tried to exit the car it would pop me back into it. So I logged out and reconnected. When I came back.....I was in the middle of Debug plains.......but my car was next to me.....and so was what looks like every other vehicle on the server......I dont know what to do? What just happened and what should I do? Edit: "I found a GPS in one of the vehicles so I think I know what direction to go in to get back to the map. As of this moment (12:55am PST) Im going to scavange for some jerry cans and supplies and try to get back to the map with my car. I'm not saving any of the vehicles in hopes that they might return to their owners upon server restart. I don't know if this was a bug or hack, but this is ridiculous, even the van people stole from my group a few days ago is here."

I kill players because of Alt+F4
Sparks (DayZ) replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
yeah, that sucks. I personally am not a bandit but I can understand how that can be frustrating. Hopefully when the "ZOMG I couldz dies hearz, bestz jus logz out" gets patched out we can get a few more actual robberies as oppose to the necessary killing that is needed now. -
There are tons of people on it during the server's day cycle usually. In the dead of night no one plays because they just join see that its night and leave most of the time.

LOL, I enjoyed the commentary.

oh awesome, it works now. Thank you billy.

BattlEye - Kick: Client does not respond
Sparks (DayZ) replied to atlon's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I just started getting this error about an hour ago. Now I cant join many of the servers. -
Hey, July 17, 2012 the time is 9:15 pm PST. US53 is currently bugged out and has been for 45 minutes. No one can connect because we keep getting a Battle eye client not responding error. I think the server needs a reboot.

Craziest stuff you've done?
Sparks (DayZ) replied to Sterling (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Empty half a clip from an m4a3 CCO at someone laying down in a corner from point blank just to realize that, not only did I not hit them, they weren't shooting back. Turns out they were out of ammo and I'm a horrid shot. We ended up teaming up. -
You walk up to them in game and ask them not to shoot you. Good luck with that though.

World too big for own good?
Sparks (DayZ) replied to Necrofix's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sorry I disagree, I think the map is just about right for 40-70 players. You can raid towns without being certain there is a person in the area, but occasionally you still find one. Besides I want it bigger so my chances of running into the guy who going to blow my face off next are even lower! <------I don't actually believe this. -
This game won't be popular at release
Sparks (DayZ) replied to mkrrr's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Your facts are based on anecdotal evidence and are wrong, the number of people playing keeps increasing. Check the front page of the Day Z homepage. Last week all those numbers were lower. Second, your statement "This game wont be popular at release" is a fallacy as you have no clue what this game will even look like when its done. Even if Rocket has sent you some sort of email detailing all his plans, which I doubt, its an alpha and new issues and ideas are always being generated and put into practice by the Devs. My advice to you: Check your facts, and your logic before you post stuff man. -
After five days of playing this, I have determined that DayZ is a marathon simulator.
Sparks (DayZ) replied to wildstars's topic in New Player Discussion
Four-Fifths of this game is travel. You will be running around a lot. Starting with a gun will not change that. The first part of this game is very hard. Its suppose to be. If you do not like running around or being very vulnerable, and find it incredibly boring. Then this game isn't for you in its current form. Also, be sure to check and search for other threads similar to this before posting, there are tons of them. -
My first murder and now I feel guilty
Sparks (DayZ) replied to dnoparker@gmail.com's topic in New Player Discussion
Did you do the right thing? Yes. Absolutely. You did not know his intentions before you fired, and he gave you no reason to trust him. Should you feel remorse? Yes. Absolutely. That is what keeps you human in the post apocolyptic world of Chenarus. I had to come to terms with a murder I felt bad about myself a few days ago. I was a fresh survivor in Elektrozavodsk that got extremely lucky and found an M1911 pistol and an Enfield in the first couple buildings I entered. I had a meeting with someone that had a hatchet but he was just watching me from about 10 meters away. I leveled my gun at him and said "I'm friendly but I have a gun, stay the hell away from me." in direct voice. He stared at me for a few seconds, then did a lean dance and ran into an alley without ever saying a word. I let him go and began checking my back side every few seconds for a while after that in case he doubled back, but I never saw the guy with the hatchet again. I began to make my way towards the supermarket but a ways off I saw someone rummaging around inside. What's more I heard gunshots in that direction. Not wanting to get into an altercation, I sneaked into the two story diner/apartment building across the street and kept my eyes on the super market from the top floor. From here I had a great view as he checked the loot piles and I managed to identify the majority of his gear. He had the basic coyote patrol pack but he was armed with a rifle that looked like an Enfield. There I waited, hoping the guy would get his stuff and leave allowing me to go in and find what was left. About five minutes past before he finally left the supermarket. The unfortunate turn of events was that instead of leaving Elektrozavodsk he ran into the downstairs part of the building I was in. I cursed under my breath as I heard him moving around on the first floor. I quietly moved to the doorway that joined the room with the stairway to the room I was in and pulled out my M1911 (faster rate of fire and at close range that is more important then the accuracy of the Enfield). I leaned my head into the stairway room and pointed my handgun at the top of the stairs hoping against hope he would not come up those steps. A few long minutes past that felt like a damned eternity. Several times I considered calling out to the man but I was scared because the only way out of the building was down those stairs and if he knew I was up here and he was unfriendly, I'd be very trapped. So I silently waited, hoping he would just leave. That is when I heard the footsteps on the stairs followed a few seconds later by the blue cap on his head. I hesitated just long enough to see the rifle. I could now clearly see it was a Winchester, out and ready to fire. The man turned his head just in time to see the flash from my gun as I emptied the entire clip into his skull. He did not have time to react in anyway. One moment he was a living human that had just had brilliant luck in the supermarket, but he decided to press it, and the next he was a lifeless body on the floor. I just stayed in the doorway a few seconds, my pulse pounding, before I cursed out loud in frustration. I went to his body as his blood leaked out onto the floor and inspected it. The man's name had been simply Nick. I quickly took the items he got from the supermarket and placed them in my own pack as I knew he would no longer be needing them. I felt like a complete and total asshole as I looted what I needed. Under different circumstances I may have contacted him, maybe we could have worked together, maybe we could have been allies but I just could not take the damn risk in that situation. All I could do to honor Nick was make sure that his death was not in vain which meant I had to make damn sure I survived. I very quickly left Elektrozavodsk after that. I'm sorry Nick. Remember, do what is necessary, but do not forget to mourn those that have died to ensure you survive. That is what makes you human.
