  1. I'm from Croatia. Don't see how is that an excuse for being a cheap bastard :P
  2. No. Killing everyone on sight because they might be a threat later is a retarded logic IMO. They'll just spawn somewhere else seconds later, they could still give away your location to their buddies, so you're still not safe. In fact, now they have a motive to hunt you down. It makes no sense to me. I won't necessarily help noobs find a weapon or team up with them but if they are unarmed on the coast I will leave them alone.
  3. Well, there is a "grass layer" in ARMA that does cover you at distance so you're not completely exposed but yeah, it's not perfect. Perhaps some transparency could be added so the cutoff isn't so sharp and visible. Grass rendering over a huge distance is unlikely to happen.
  4. Not sure if serious? Remember, all WarZ has so far is a few questionable screenshots. War Inc, with the same engine they're using looks very underwhelming. With the WarZ devs doing so much in relatively little time, I'm not sure why do people assume the game will be much more polished?
  5. Not sure why are people so worried whether it will use ARMA 2 or ARMA 3 engine. The engine in ARMA 3 isn't going to be built up from scratch. Just like ARMA 2 and Armed Assault weren't built from scratch either. Day Z will now have access to all the latest major features added to the engine AND will be free to modify it any way to suit the gameplay without the fear of breaking ARMA. It's great news, really. Can't believe some people are complaining about having to buy the game "again". Guys, no one forced you to buy ARMA 2 to play a mod in alpha.

    Lag Problem

It's your CPU. I'm mainly an ARMA player and I always used to have low FPS in big cities until I upgraded from a similar CPU to an i5 2500K. Setting everything to very low would give me a 2-3 fps boost at most so my 6870 wasn't the bottleneck, it was the CPU. For some reason the game is very demanding on the CPU when there are a lot of big enterable buildings around.
  7. You're below minimum system requirements in terms of GPU. Playing without lag is not going to happen.
  8. There needs to be something done to encourage team play a bit, no question about that. It's a complex issue however AND whatever is done will not significantly reduce killing on sight. A friend of mine got the game recently and I've been helping him to learn controls and basic day z stuff. Yesterday we played for the first time, communicating via Skype we figured out he was in Elektro. He entered a fire station and while searching for loot he encountered another human player: Friend: Some guy just entered the building! Me: Is he armed? Friend: He has a crowbar... Friend: Hehe, he is saluting me. Me: Nice, ask him if... Friend: I got him! Me: What? Friend: I shot him. Me: Why?? Friend: ....... Even though our plan was not to play as bandits, and certaintly not shoot unarmed people, he still shot the guy even though he only had a crowbar and appeared to be a friendly. When I asked him why, he couldn't explain, just said his instinct was to kill him. For some reason this seems to be the case with most people.
  9. You died on your first ever life in Day Z, and then you figured you could give the game "another chance"? Sorry but, LOL! I'm not new to ARMA 2 and I realize newbies might find it frustrating at first but if you're that impatient then it's clearly not the game for you, alpha or not.
  10. No laptop is able to run this game "perfectly" at max settings. In fact, I don't think even a high end desktop could do that. Just don't bother with maxing the game out, it's not going to happen. That laptop should run the game well at decent settings. It has always been like that with BIS games. Max settings are kind of made for future hardware ;)
  11. There is no way any laptop could possibly run it on max with good frame rate. I have an overclocked i5 2500K and a HD6870 and still can't really set everything to high if I want to have a constantly decent fps. Talking about ARMA 2 here, for the actual mod it seems to be even worse. Tweaking stuff will certainly help but it's mostly down to how the game is. Very demanding on both CPU and GPU.
  12. The only thing that bothers me is that taking other people's stuff clearly isn't the primary motive behind killing them in most cases. I've been shot unarmed so many times it's getting a bit silly now. Like today, I stumbled upon a guy in Elektro, I realized he saw me and since he was armed I thought I'd just get out of his way and go in a different direction thinking he would leave me alone as all I had was a crowbar and of course the basic backpack. Yet he decided to chase me across the whole town and shot me wasting so much ammo in the process it couldn't have been possibly worth it. It seems the vast majority of the people are playing it strictly like a deathmatch and that's a shame but not much can be done about it.
  13. Wait, what camo glitch? Just picked up camo clothing for the first time. Does the spawning in ocean thing happen immediately or when you log on next time? Probably should get rid of it.

    cracking?

Alright, fair enough. Just saying all you need is OA which is $15 from BI store. Really isn't that much and the developers do deserve support. Either way, you can't play a cracked version of ARMA 2 online.

    cracking?

Isn't Operation Arrowhead all you need? In which case it's more like $15. If you can afford a computer to run this game surely you can afford the game too?
  16. Good stuff. What I'm having trouble the most is looting smaller villages. Usually there's a bunch of zombies roaming around and I'm finding it pretty difficult to take any stuff without being noticed, even when taking it really slow, crawling etc. In most cases I end up aggroing a couple of zombies, running for the hills, shooting them there and then going to the next village in hope of more easily accessible loot :(
