    I thought that was because the Dragunov doesn't exist in game? You've probably found a hacked weapon so I would discard it if i were you. Or did it get patched in some time and i'm just unaware?
  2. Easy solution, if you're stuck moving in a direction just press the direction key and release it, sometimes the game bugs and treats the movement keys like all the others (double tap to hard-toggle).
  3. The problem is that since there are no real objectives or consequences it's just easier to kill people for maps etc, it also means that the longer you've been alive the more incentive you have to just kill people to protect yourself.

    Weapons have always been common, you obviously just weren't looking in the right places, you've always been able to have a primary weapon within 5 minutes of starting at any spawn point.

    I'd just like to take a moment to laugh at all the people who bitched me (and others) out for DARING to suggest that rocket might do something about ARMA's buggy inventory or ladders...... Just think for a moment, if nobody ever said there was a problem then it would probably never get fixed.

    They don't have the system in place to do a scheduled maintenance, it poses the same problems as a random rollout does. Really they need to remotely lock all the servers THEN patch, and then bring them all back up locked.

    If the current trend continues then it will unfortunately, the devs have shown a remarkable disinterest in polishing the game over the course of the series, many of the bugs people are complaining about now existed in the first beta demo of Operation Flashpoint a good 11 years ago.

    It already happens, I'm perma stuck as a bandit because every single person/team i meet are talking on vent/ts and just decide to kill you if you arent one of them. Vent/TS has already ruined the communication aspect of the game.

I really don't see it being viable, consider for a second: I spawn with a gun and painkillers If you rob me i lose my gun and painkillers What incentive do I have to let you bail me up and take my gear? ZERO, even if there's 10 of you and one of me, all I have to lose is my gear... try and "rob" me and it's going down like the end of "The Thin Red Line", you're probably going to get me but I'm going to put a bullet in someones gut before it happens. Add in a "knockdown mechanic" (you can already rob people like that btw) and I'd just train zombies at you when i get up, stop being a coward and just pull the trigger IMO, it's the zombie apocalypse man... you don't need to justify being a murderer if you don't want to. Wanting to rob without killing is just as bad as the noobs in sidechat who say "so and so are you friendly? if you don't respond i will shoot, 3,2,1" BAM! tis ridiculous.

    I honestly think that "blame Bohemia" is a total cop-out, you could apply that to ANYTHING in the mod. If you've never had a problem with the inventory then I have an exercise for you to do: 1) place a primary weapon + ammo in your backpack and fill the pack + your inventory (have a different amount of ammo to your equipped primary) 2) switch main weapons and switch back without dropping anything (remember you never know when a dropped item is going to just vanish) and without using a gear pile/corpse 3) enjoy your missing magazines which the game just destroyed A working (and non-retarded) inventory system is a vital part of any indie game (i know it's a mod but it might as well be a fresh startup when it comes to publicity/impressions) and the inherited ARMA 2 inventory is probably the worst i've seen in 20 years of gaming, it's more important than the addition of ANY new content. Even just adding a bag size check before the game tries to move 10 items into 8 empty slots would go a LONG way. Remember.... this is a MODIFICATION, they're only restricted by what they can be bothered to do, otherwise we might as well just say "Bohemia doesn't have working zombies or in game objectives so that's not our job", surely you can see how ridiculous a statement like that is? The entire point of a mod is to MODIFY things that you don't like.

    IMO inventory management needs priority over anything that doesn't involve stability or bug fixes since basically the inventory is one big bug, I know that's a hang over from the base game but fixing it would go a long way to alleviating people basic frustrations. A reliable bag-viewing system would be fantastic and I know i can't be the only one who's sick of losing items when trying to swap a weapon out of my backpack on short notice, also nice would be the ability to select and use food/drink from your pack in the action menu (perhaps have it take twice as long to use), juggling free inventory space to scavenge with keeping emergency items at hand is rather annoying and there's no reason why unzipping your pack for a tylenol should take 30 minutes of slight-of-hand. For a quickfix it would be nice if you could make dropping a weapon or moving it to a backpack only move the weapon itself, currently moving a weapon takes all the ammo too and this regularly results in deleted ammunition (sucks bigtime if you have a scarce weapon).

IMO the better a weapon is the rarer it needs to be, it should go something like: low tier pistols/enfield (cause it's dangerous to use, should have the most common ammunition) higher tier pistols/shotguns/winchester (lowered ammo spawns on the whinchester) battle/assault rifles hunting rifles sniper rifles There needs to be some sense of scale, the longer you survive the better your gear gets, rather than looting a cz550 5 minutes after I spawn and keeping it forever. Early on players need to be using something shitty and loud rather than a winchester with infinite ammo.
  20. I agree with Op, sometimes you have to overlook realism for a second in favour of balancing the game, I know that I personally always have a cz on me and a pile of ammo, why? Because i KNOW that at the ranges I can operate at I'm going to win an engagement. I know some of you are crying because you think those of us who want the scoped weapon spawns nerfed are trying to "kiddy up" the game (that's rediculous) but just think for a moment about what lowering the availability would do, there would be a LOT more low-mid range engagements and firefights rather than half the map just hiding and sniping... isn't that a positive thing? It would also make sniper weapons into "big ticket" items, things that people are proud to have rather than every scrub who has been in game 6 minutes having one. IMO it would be a worthwhile change just because atm the scoped weapons just outclass everything else.
