    wow, thanks so much all of you all of this is so helpful. in the end i alt tabbed out and forgot and died =) (like a boss) but hey, who cares, i am going to do it all again. and now i know how. yet again thanks.

    I am supposed to have been a loyal scout, and top of the class at orienteering. done both DoE hikes passed with flying colours. many, many moons ago. BUT WHY DO I FAIL SOOO HARD!!! I set out from elektro aiming for above polana and ended up SW of stary sobor! uber fail. now it is pitch black, I have a watch, thats it, no moon is out. what the fuck do I do. I have no sense of direction, I have looked for north star but can't find it/can't discern it. any idea's? I just want to know which way is north.
