I'm trying to use the site; http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php but it doesn't work. It asks me for a user name and password. Are there any alternative sources? My brother and I can't play until we find one :(

If you don't like the rules, you don't play. There is nobody you can complain to. If you disapprove of being banned for something that wouldn't get you banned on the main hive, don't play. There is nobody you can complain to. If you don't approve of sidechat, don't play. There is nobody you can complain to. Get the message? We private hive owners/admins run a private hive because WE want to run a server with our own limitations and rules. If you think you shouldn't be banned for calling other people "faggots" and "cunts" or screaming down side chat like a little girl everytime you die, you don't play. There is nobody above the admin of that server, for that server. He runs it during his spare time, for himself. If others choose to play, you play by his rules. We can remove you from our server whenever we want. Hell, we don't even have to provide a reason. Fact is, you're in our territory, what we say goes. /Rant. I assure you I'm not as power-mad as this post makes me sound. Needed to vent.

Frustrates me to no end. Not once have I banned or kicked people for killing me, or stealing my car, or raiding my camp. But fucking hell, if you're screaming down side you're gone faster than you can say "WATCH OUT, THERE'S A SNIPE-".

I expect to be able to scavenge through towns and fields without the fear of being teleported into the sky or instagibbed. I expect to be forced to scavenge for weapons, food and drink, instead of finding it all in a massive group of tents in the middle of a popularly used town, after a hacker got bored of spawning things. I expect to have a god damn lot more fun. I expect to be genuinely scared when I hear a zombie screeching as it runs to me, instead of outrunning it all of the time, every time, without being touched. I expect to get endgame gear eventually, and not be bored or too scared to do anything out of fear of losing it. Better gear should mean better chance of survival. I expect to come across moments that'll stay with me throughout the rest of my gaming DayZ. I expect other players to be more willing to play with other people, because there's safety in numbers. I expect to play with a higher FPS because the game will actually be optimized instead of standing on half of one leg. :) Edit: Some people want new features. I just want the game to WORK.

I ran there, hopped server to counter snipe for him.. The server was laggy as hell, and had recruit settings, so I had to turn my settings down to minimum to get more than 10 fps. And then this.

Was this a private hive? If so, it wasn't hacked in. The server owner can add and remove buildings and vehicles, weapons and items. My friend added a tonne of Hanging Priests inside of churches.

A friend has given me admin access to his server but only via RCON (Dart Rcon), so I have no access to logs/database... just kicks bans restarts, shutdowns etc. After I restarted the server with #restart, people couldn't join, including myself. We get as far as the lobby, click continue, says it's receiving the mission as usual, but then just goes straight back to the lobby. What causes that and can it be fixed without direct server access? I tried multiple #restarts. Everyone was getting pissy about it and it was all getting out of hand so I just shut it down until my friend is back tomorrow to fix it. I'd just like to know what to do next time this happens, and what could have caused it?

He's been using #restart with no issues, and then the first time I do it this happens.. But alright I'll talk to him

A few kids who frequent a server I play have hoarded all of the helicopter spawns and hidden them off-map. I've heard about a small island outside of the map range that people are hiding helicopters on. I happen to have access to a PBX. Anyone know what island(s) these might be? Coordinates? I want these hoarding douchebags to pay. I'll place the heli's fully fixed up at their spawns so OTHERS can have some fun instead of these bags of doucherry. Please note that when I say off map, I literally mean off of the map, so they're not on skallisty Island or the other small islands. :/

I spent the better part of a day hunting for tents on multiple servers and grocery stores. I found 7. I pitched 7 tents in a secluded area far north (NOT OUTSIDE OF THE MAP). I placed one crappy unwanted item into each, to be sure that they'd keep the items after a restart. They didn't. None of them did. At all. All items were lost from them after a server restart. Please note that I am 100% sure that I saved the tents, It's a habit I have developed of saving tents 2-3 times before I leave them. For crying out loud, how can I get around this bug? I can't play because I have too many items and I can't store anything at all.

Yes I have battleye required: ON. I have the mission set to: DayZ. The only servers that show up are non hive, or "Sanctuary" servers. What the hell is going on? Edit: RUnning latest arma 2 version, beta patch AND Dayz version. All updated THROUGH dayz commander, but I play the game through the Beta Patch Shortcut.

I launch the game through steam. I turn off the "battleye required" filter so it will show only non-hive servers for me to fool around on when I don't feel like playing seriously. I can only find two or three, and they never load or work. Wat do?

Yeah it always stops at 8 checks out of 10 :) But, as you said, loads shortly after.

Uhhh.. What the hell. I can't see trees, grass, most buildings and my FPS has dropped massively because of it.. I haven't messed with any files but a Battleeye update happened this morning for me. I've tried verifying steam cache but that's no help, didn't fix it. Any ideas what I can do?

I'm not in the debug forest. I'm right next to my camp in the middle of the woods. I see my tents. No trees, and no small buildings nearby like usual.
