What happened: Logged in using six launcher, ended up at sea with no land in sight. No doubt losing equipment. Where you were: Wooded hill NW of Vybor What you were doing: Laying on the ground, If it's related to the normal camo suit i put it one on about 15 mins before that *Current installed version:1.7 of dayz *Server(s) you were on: ANZ1 *Timeline of events before/after error: killed a guy, took his normal camo suit, i put on the camo suit, also too his SVD rifle, 20 mins later on i had moved to hill NW of Vybor logged out Player name : slimer Maybe a character reset to 2am AEST time? 17/06/2012 (here's hoping) -

Last login using your launcher I was at sea again. I quickly logged out as i dont want to lose all my hard earned equipment. I am afraid to login again. I tried logging in again via steam and of course my position was saved at sea with no land in sight. Not happy. On Beta issue, box was checked. Disregard last post, it was probably camo suit issue. -

I need to clarify as my last post was born of frustration. I had another look at it and my issue is with the Launcher. I can't get it to work. When it does work I end up in the ocean or spawning in the 'debug spawn forest'. I don't want to lose my stuff to the sea yet again. Is there anyway I can spawn back on land? The updater works fine. But unfortunately most of the Oceanic servers have so many different versions running that I need to manually change the version anyway to play on servers still on 1.6 or running Betas that aren't full. It takes a few seconds to change from one version to another manually. So now I can update with six updater and start via the normal steam process i can play on 1.7. But i am still confused as to how we are supposed to play on Beta versions, i presumed that six updater would update the Arma II Beta as well. -

Whats the best way to uninstall six updater? ........it just doesn't work, so far, a complete waste of time, multiple install attempts, reinstall of steam and arma II CO, what version of Dayz is it supposed to work with anyways? I get infinite 'loading' times, or wrong version error messages, BattleEye error messages, locking up PC... the works DON'T USE SIX UPDATER! It's much simpler and less error prone to maintain control over your Dayz version manually. I haven't been able to get into any servers since using this software. Don't do it Rocket! Stay manual! -
When i try and enter a server running 1.7 (and I have updated to 1.7 Dayz code) I am stuck on 'Retrying to Authenticate'. No problem on 1.6.0.1 servers. I know a few people have this issue. All my clan mates can get in to 1.7 no problem. Any advice? I am not running Beta Arma II, just vanilla Arma II.

day 9, NW airfield, changing options, accidentally hit 'RESPAWN'. Died and cried. I know I'm not the only one who has done this. Can I suggest... 'Are you sure? Yes/No' window for respawning to prevent such tragic accidents. Of course, on an Oceanic server ANZ11 so it crashed before my team could grab my equipment... sooo tragic.

I think better, clearer, voice communications is the key. But you have to accept that some people are just going to shoot you on sight no matter what. It's part of what makes the game so great (the moral dilemma) and the adrenaline kick of confrontation so high.

NO New players of the game will be turned away by this. It is possible to go too hardcore. Every player starting is presumed to have a back story... thus give them a pistol. -

I have this same error, 'retrying to authenticate' and i have no idea where this executable is supposed to be. I'm not getting in any where except on 1.6.0.1 servers Any help much appreciated.

I have 4 friends plus myself willing to join an Oceania militia. I have sent you a steam friends request (batcave slimer). My group of bandit hunters also disappointed at bandit skin removal. We use venty and would love the opportunity to work with other large® groups on AUS/NZ servers. Although i think to be effective (due to server fullness and other factors) there needs to be an international militia. Looking forward to hearing from you. -

Plenty of food, plenty of water, ammo situation is moderate. Only reason for killing now is greed or to circumvent others greed. And since there are no repercussions for killing everyone/anyone most of people kill on sight. My team (of RL friends) avoids contact with everyone. If one of us plays solo, we avoid everyone as well. If we are playing solo we realise we will have to shoot first. We dont want to, it's just become good sense. If we get the drop on someone and call them out, we dont want to kill them on first sight, but comms in-game are inadequate for this. No means of direct comms or other communications that is fast enough to resolve encounters satisfactorily. Longevity and frequency of playing the game within our group has fallen and with out the means of having peaceful encounters it will fall off completely soon. I dont see how we can rebuild society or defend a town unless everyone starts putting "[FRIENDLY]" in front of their player name and starting a wide scale wild west style law enforcement campaign amongst the organised community. I understand why you'd remove bandit skins. But I dont like it. If you have good equipment you can't afford to be friendly with anyone forcing the most successful players into banditry. All this wouldn't be too bad if there was some reward for high humanity. Since there is no deterrent to murder (and it's near impossible for said 'law men' to hunt down murderers) the mod has entered a status quo of anarchy. The game will not advance from this state until something else changes. -
