jep, some news about a possible release this year would be nice.
i thinks it's important to say, whether it's still possible or completly impossible for this years release.
it's just one sentence and a lot of people can stop waiting for the next few days
just a feedback would be really lovely.. something like, we dont know whether we can manage it this year, or just a .. sadly we don't get it this year is also fine ;)

cheating is cheating, no matter what purpose.
i spawned yesterday with no gear too and had a lot of stuff.. this doesn't mean i have to cheat now, to get everything back.
it's an alpha, we have to life with things like that.

but he got banned once we found him in the logs.

I'm just not excited about dogs, personally.
They will make other players easy to find, though, if that's your thing.
Well, maybe a badit has more fun at killing an other ones dog instead of the survivor itself ;)

battleye isn't that bad.. it's as good as punkbuster. they react fast and i see daily messages that peoples getting banned for script violations.
You guys need to learn that there is no hackerproof 3rd party anti-cheat tool.
As soon as battleye pulls out an update, the hackers sitting down and write a workaround. Why? It's simple.
Hackers are selling their scripts to noobish kids, they pay, so the hackers are willing to update as fast as possible to.
Battleye reacts again, a few more getting banned and the hackers have to write a workaround too. Thats how it work.
What they need is to work with Steam together, find out their Steamaccounts and deactivate every game from the hackers/script users.
So they have to buy arma 2 again.. After a few times, they definitly wont do that again.
Its the only way to stop hacking, just delete their steam accounts. Take the Game license, thats how it works.

we know the problems, sometimes things are gone, when hive doesn't load after a restart.. and somethimes there is a hacker and kills everything.
unfortunately, we can't do anything, even as admins we are powerless.
mostly you can't see the name of the hacker.
btw... germany 13 is our old server, it should be closed already, but the hoster didn't deleted it.

Realx Guys.. in a week is GAMESCOM, then we know maybe a bit more.. just give the devs a bit air and let them do what they do best ;)
The engine was already told, so please don't ask more for it.. Uses the same as Arma3 does. VR4
Arma3 was created for public, Arma2 was built on a really old engine, not for public things, that's why it's easy hackable. Arma 3 is aware of that.
Btw. Arma 3 should be released end of october 2012. This gives us a bit knowledge, that the engine is ready and Dayz isn't that super far away.
And, he didn't say minecraft equal price. It was only told of the strategy, release in alpha stage will be at a lower cost, than the fullgame. This can still be 30$ of 60$, just wait for further details and don't guessing too much.

NO.. you pre-purchase the fullgame as when it's in alpha state.
Your decision whether you already want to play in alpha or wait to beta or finished release ;p

Well, you'll always find one or two cheats on FPS games, like aimbots and wallhacks. But these hacks are nothing compared to the hacks available for Arma / DayZ.
On BF3, a cheater will be able to headshot anyone. Annoying, but that's all. On Arma you can transform someone into a cow, teleport every one into a specific place, give yourself any weapons, get invisible, etc ... Can you do that in BF3 & COD ? I doubt it.
Nope, in BF3 you can Teleport everyone in front of your Crosshair with or without vehicles. You can get invisible, you can give unl. ammo, you can fly, you can teleport yourself, and of course - GODMODE.. So pretty same things as in dayz, just not spawn weapons/vehicles as far as i know.
COD.. wallhack, aimbot, invisible, godmode -> more than enough to destroy a game.

come one guys.. no game can be hackproof, there is always! ALWAYS! a way to hack a game, when a server responds..
Tell me one Game, that is not hacked.. Just one? There is no one!
BF3, BF2, COD, every COD!, CSS, every game with many players has hacks which will be sold by some stupid asses..
And be bought from more stupid asses..
The more players are playing and the more are flaming for getting killed, the more fun has the hackers to kill you!
Would everyone just shut up and don't claim all the time, mamama i got killed - i'm so poor, my life is over, all my weapons are gone...
Pussy acting, that's what hackers and cheaters attracts and is fun for them. So stop complaining, you make it just worse.
So YEAH - It is the communities fault and i agree 100% to dayz staff.
And no, there is no anti-cheat tool which works fine. No one. Punkbuster is crap, also the one from CS.
If dayz comes out of the same pricelevel like minecraft, i will do the same with minecraft.. Buy it 5 or more times!

nah! not all.. we take it really seriously with our server and reacts super fast when cheaters are on. never kicked one to make room for admins.

I think the engine can be confirmed, wouldn't be a big sectret as rocket already said he is playing around with the arma 3 engine, would just be a logical step to use this one

frostbyte cant handle such hughe maps, we all saw this from bf3.. it looks nice yes, but there is a reason why the maps are so damn small..
and dayz will have the arma3 engine, there is no discussion needed, its not possible to port that mod into another different engine, when 95% of the gamplay is from arma itself.
they only need to be standalone, that they can do minor changes in the corefiles without pleasing on arma2.. and can react faster..
even if they need to share their money with bohemia for having the engine or a license at least.. its the only logical step.

no, dayz without the realism is just an arcade game as all the others.. and as they already have the arma 3 engine for testing, i'm pretty sure, they will release a full game based on arma 3 engine and i would love to pay a full price for this one!
and i bet war z can only fail due to the engine and i'm sure it will become a casual game. .i hate casual games with no skill.
i need something thrilling, something hard, really hard to survive, thats why i like the bandits in dayz.

this is an alpha, we are here to give feedback and test the game!
not to complain about it, when there are graphical glitches!
btw.. i don't have any graphical glitches since the patch! So, not everyone is messed up.. just like bf3, maybe 90% of the community has no problems at all

like it, looks awesome.
i guess the annoying arma 2 eye blend effect is removed? i so hated that one in the forest, if you look at the ground you see well, look a bit up, you see nothing and its like later evening at noon ;( lens flares are nice when you look at the sun, but the eye adjustment was way toooo much
and, i hope you don't add zombie children, i dont pay for games, where we have to shoot kids, not even infected ones.. just to point out ;)
