In your graphics option, set the 3d resoluton to your native resolution (usually 1920x1080)

I spent four hours last night running around fixing up a red car in Starry, all I needed was one last part (rear wheel). Before I logged I was still sitting in the vehicle, I logged back in this morning to be kinda glitched into the car, seconds later I just suddenly died, no bleed-out or anything, I assume it thought I was crushed by the car lol. So guys, DONT LOG OUT IN VEHICLES - i've certainly learnt my lesson, lost all my military gear, GPS, compass, map etc....god...

How's the hacker status of DayZ?
Mr Zee replied to privatewolf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I left DayZ months ago due to the hacker situation, I seen no point continuing until DayZ has gone standalone, then i'll play it again. Don't have to take my word for it either, just look at the played in last 24hours on the main site, pretty darn low if you ask me, seems like people are playing then stopping. I think I will just buy both DayZ and WarZ, I think they are both excellent games in their own unique way -
Yep, time to get their A into G. Don't let rip off steal your fans.

Clucking idiots
Mr Zee replied to tido.schmidt@googlemail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree, the graphics glitch should be top priority now next to making DayZ less hacker friendly. The dead bodies glitch has been going on for so long now its really not funny, I dont find that "its alpha deal with it" is acceptable due to the length of time this bug has now been present. I also don't beleive its professional to delay fixing it any further, its really pissing the community off, we just want it (dead solider artifacting) fixed. -
Hacker on NZ 20 - Even Though No-one Bans...
Mr Zee replied to floomoo's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Maybe all of those 'false positive' bans that BE issued, and then withdrew weren't so false positive after all. DayZ is now a hackers wet dream, its so easy to do and get around BE. I'm going to keep playing until War Z comes out, unless Rocket and BE work together to get this issue resolved. -
Fuck that shit bro, report that admin!

Invulnerable Hacker - NZ28 - 8:00PM - UTC +10:00
Mr Zee replied to boz (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Aint much that can be done with hackers on the NZ servers, admins are powerless to stop them. -
The "list of servers you've found hackers in" thread.
Mr Zee replied to Anton17's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nothing we can do, just wait for BattleEye to fix the exploits. Thats because the admins on Orcon acknowledged publicly that they cannot do anything to stop the hacking going on, and for players to stop reporting it to them, I thought that server admins could issue a ban on the players, seems maybe not. Reference: http://games.orcon.n...opic,206.0.html -
Good to know its not just the crappy ATI users having the issue, was a bit worried for a minute there.

I am sorry but I cannot accept your experience, though I'm not calling you a liar at all, I just can't accept it because it isn't happening to anyone I know, myself and friends were all playing last night until 2.30am, and it does take at least 2-3 shots, sometimes 4, to take down zombies with an M9, not one. It's been like this for us since a couple beta patches ago.
-
1shot kills means the player was already at low blood, or the 80+ zombies was just bugged (hey it can happen, i've seen whole towns of zombies just standing around OK).
-
With the latest couple patch's we have seen improved coding, which has resulted in better performance on the servers. I noticed that as of 1.72 the load times, and overall gameplay fps was perfectly fine, but since I've updated to 1.7.2.3 it seems to have taken a step backwards in terms of FPS randomly spiking. So I was playing for about a couple hours just now, and then the FPS started to drop really bad, down to unplayable. I logged out of that server and switched, then it was fine but it came back after a while. I don't think its a memory leak as the only way to fix that is to close the .exe and I didn't do that, switching server fixed the FPS temporarily. Maybe its just Electra, Cherno was fine... Anyone else want to comment on random spots that seem to lose FPS? I've been playing on High graphics for the last week with absolutely no FPS drops until now. (I just know someone is bound to post 'your gfx card or blah blah is probably failing or ram is bad etc etc' please don't post that crap, I already check these things)

Just came across this Day Z interview on YouTube..
Mr Zee replied to fearz0r's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
very touching, it was moving... Here lies Russian Guy We fought together, we laughed together. God forgive us all R.I.P -
This is going to be largely fixed by disabling the respawn button. I see your point, but its going to involve changing the way the server tracks death.
-
dude, that does not include ghillies, you need to read more, he mentioned that its only the naked clothes fix or somthing. L2Read
-
@Rocket - did you intend for zombies to be so fast or was that just the way the path-finding/other mechanics are in Arma II? Also is there any plans to re-introduce ghillie suits back into the loot tables?
-
Do ghillie/camo clothing spawn in residential still?
Mr Zee replied to Mr.Glowsticks's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I looted a silenced pistol last night from a bandit, and put it in my backpack. Logged in this morning and it wasn't there, nor were the 4 mags I'd also looted. Really quite annoyed, more-so annoyed i got sniped shortly after I logged in. -
Important Things I wish I knew earlier.... (will update every so often as I find new stuff, suggestions are welcome) Zombies You can lose zombies in buildings, because they can only walk No buildings to lose them in? find a hill, you can run up a hill and zig-zag left and right, this causes the zombies to walk up the hill, which slows them to a very slow walk allowing you to prone and get away No hills or buildings? never fear, if your close to a dock just sit around the pier and wait for your opportunity to escape, they zombies usually walk into the water and are slow Don't fight zombies on stairs, you have a greater chance of encountering the zombie 'super attack' which does massive damage, you'll also have a higher chance of breaking bones on stairs while fighting a zombie. Zombies can glitch through walls slightly and attack you, they can sometimes get through doors too, and up stairs/ladders so don't put your back to an open wall. Keep your distance from hoppers (hopping zombies) they seem to have the longest aggro range of all zombies. If you have a gun, and your in a city with zombies all around you simply must shoot a zombie to defend yourself always use your sidearm, they are a lot quieter than many primary weapons. Remember hatchet is just as effective as an Makarov Pistol but silent. Hatchets are usually one hit kill vs zombies, aim for their legs for the best chance to not miss, Crowbars will take about 3 hits to kill a zombie. PvP Combat (basic survival against other survivors in new areas/cities) Close quarter combat, Hatchet vs Gun usually wins as it knocks them unconscious pretty quick and breaks bones. Just remember to strafe around that player while swiping with the axe so they cant lock their aim on you with their gun. Scope out where you want to go, watch it for a bit to see if anyones around, then move in, don't just rush in. DON'T trust anyone coming at you with a hatchet, just GTFO, don't bother shooting them unless you have the element of surprise When you kill a player don't loot him straight away, pay attention and watch flanks from the back for about a minute in case he's got a buddy. Remember the rules for close quarter combat, HATCHET, if your in a narrow corridor / stairs then a gun is preferred. Lots of zombies in the far distance means there is likely a couple players around that area, and is unsafe, a couple zombies around usually means its just you (you learn how to distinguish this with practice). Sprint out of combat if you don't think you are going to win or have been ambushed, just GTFO your pursuer can't shoot if he wants to chase after you, zig zag run like a mo fo into the nearest forest or weave in/out of buildings.. Use the cover of the forest for cover, don't walk in the road/coast. High Risk Areas (PvP) Electro - Forest area behind the power station in the hills is frequently visited by high end snipers in ghillies, avoid the road alongside the fire station at all costs unless you don't mind losing your gear. Electro - Grocery store, the hill directly behind it is watched by snipers, make sure to check this before entering via the back. Cherno - The Northwest Hospital, snipers frequently sit in the four apartment buildings and snipe people, be sure to go far back around the bottom hill to stay out of sight of these buildings during your approach. Cherno - Fire station, players often sit atop the stairs aiming down, waiting for that unwary survivor. General Survival Sprinting by double tapping forward, will raise your body temperature to the maximum, even in rain! *you don't want to go below 36degrees* Don't drink / eat until they are blinking red, from there it takes five minutes before you will start losing blood (20/psec). Water Canteens can be filled via water pumps around some cities and locations, and also ponds. Eating 'Cooked Meat' will restore 800blood per piece, this can bring you back to full from the brink of death. Cows give 8 pieces and are often found near barns & open fields, you need Hatchet (chop wood), Hunting Knife (to gut animal) and Matches (to make fireplace). If you only have a hunting knife you can find fire bins around major cities and use them to cook. General Stuff to watch out for & oddities (I've learned the below the hard way) Don't crash vehicles into trees, cars explode a lot easier than you think and kill you instantly (if your lucky you'll be thrown out the window) Don't log out when your in a car, as when you re-log you'll be crushed by the car and die. Don't drive too fast on the main roads, rubble can pop in suddenly and BANG out the fkn window you go, bleeding like a mo fucker and losing 8k blood. Don't forget to 'Save' the vehicle after you put a replacement part on it, or it wont apply when you logout/back in. Biggest Don't!!! climb around rock faces or try to jump up/around them, there is a bug where you can lose control and just slide down a bit & randomly break your bones & insta death (lost my ghillie suit and night vision goggles doing this, body was bugged and couldn't loot it when I got back) Don't place items into a tent until the server has been restarted after placing it, or it eats your items. I've tested this three times and after the first server reboot items never disappeared for me. Don't place items into your PBX Boat, it has no inventory and will eat your items (lost two silenced weapons because of this) Don't put weapons/items into your backpack if you don't have room, your weapon/item WILL disappear forever. Don't just 'TAKE Backpack' you'll lose everything in your current pack, transfer the items from your current backpack into the new one first via the 'Gear' or 'Open xxx backpack' option when you scroll See a backpack and can't pick it up? clear the junk around it first and then you can loot it. Ghillie suits do work now, but your zombie kills/murders won't update until you next login (just doesn't update in real time is all) Web Resources Interactive Map with loot locations & vehicle spawns (must have for any newbie)- http://dayzdb.com/map#3.072.086 Wiki Page to answer all the questions you may have about items and/or their use - http://dayzwiki.com/...title=Main_Page YouTube Videos - Search 'DayZ How To' if you don't understand something in the wiki/game.

For those who don't know, ghillie suits
Mr Zee replied to papageorgio7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just got given one today buy a mate, its fine I didn't notice any bugs (hell I even got NV goggles). Its just so awesome! I wish that it covered your shoes though, they stick out like a sore thumb. -
If your travelling between cities use the forests for cover, don't be a nub and walk on the road, train-tracks or shoreline. Scout out where you want to go, watch that area for a minute or so, look around for possible sniper locations and see if you can see anyone, then move in. Don't take the most obvious route (i.e front doors to the grocery store), always go in from the back and go prone, if you can use 3rd person to use the camera to see around that corner.. It takes a lot of practice man I won't lie but as others have said, its most satisfying when you get good at it. Slow and easy does it, you dont have to go into the big cities, you can find good loot in the smaller areas, it just takes a little longer.
