I went there. No loot. A big patrol of military zeds. Waste of time.

Snipers ........its kinda like this.

All I'm thinking is, ok I know where he is now, time to get back to cherno and take him out. -
That is just people bro. Have you been outside recently? People suck. Adapt.

Blood clotting. Do want.

In a way I agree. I think high grade guns and ammo are far too easy to acquire in dayz, and I hope and believe this will eventually be changed. Where I disagree is in the reason. I don't want there to be less guns and ammo for the "realism" or rp. I just think it will intensify gameplay.

Thanks to banditry I decide to not quit the game.

I too only began to enjoy this game when I experimented with banditry. Killing noobs is really no fun, but gunplay between yourself and other similarly geared people is awesome and intense. -
Definition of the word ENDGAME
cragzeek replied to Delta Smoke 01's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Oh I'm not bored at this stage of play. And I wasn't suggesting bosses, quests, or dungeons. i was merely saying that both Rocket and the OP are hinting at a DayZ version of Endgame content which would mean some kind of tools for experienced players to create a new, complex, and challenging experience. The idea of a boss zombie would ruin immersion for me and I don't support it. Careful about putting words in peoples mouths. -
Then the OP is a liar or a wizard!

You silly goose, you can't lose infinity.

One of my favourite day z moments I was in Berezino and some dude came roaring at me randomly with a tractor. He broke my legs, I shot him to pieces with an AKM, and the zombies killed me after a few waves. This is irrelevant to your story, but it was a riot.

INFINTE amounts? Shit, then you can spare some for me huh?

Definition of the word ENDGAME
cragzeek replied to Delta Smoke 01's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
As the OP said, what he is referring to as "Endgame" is content for skilled veteran players who need a new challenge, not a dragon, not a crazy quest, or any other straw man you can invent. Just because this game is a sandbox and focuses on immersion does not mean there aren't several tiers of gameplay and different player bases that will need to be satisfied come a polished release. This doesn't mean anything drastic. As Rocket is always explicitly clear in saying he wishes to provide us as players with the tools to create and facilitate our own experience. Some of these tools will be geared towards upper tier players. -
Pure awesomeness. I can't imagine why anyone felt the need to pour haterade on this. Everyone gets tense as fuck when playing DayZ, especially alone! I'd never be yelling like that if I had a squad with me who needed to communicate but on my own? Jeesus, its twice as intense. Well played sir.

After five days of playing this, I have determined that DayZ is a marathon simulator.
cragzeek replied to wildstars's topic in New Player Discussion
If you're having trouble gearing up watch some guides, read up about where loot spawns, study the map. If you are continually dying before you can get geared up enough to go north you need to work on your understanding of gearing up in the coastal towns. If you find that even after you have a little gear you are still running then you are playing like a moron. If you are running around a town and I'm there, I'm going to shoot you and take your gear. Stealth is a huge huge part of this game. -
Rocket has been extremely clear that he wants to give us the TOOLS to create our mmo experience, but not install features like NPC's to dictate them. So as the game progresses features like those Bandit Wanted posters just suggested could be added and that could help give you that "questing" feeling. But to add in npc's that give quests compromises the core integrity of this game which is an immersive player driven experience. Think EVE Online, that is what rocket said in his latest interview that he aspired to in the type of community driven initiative he hopes to foster in Day Z.

Zombies being overpowered is good...in concept right now it is just annoying.

I don't want to flame you but why bother commenting just to say you haven't read the post and then spout a disconnected answer? That's weak-sauce. -
What confuses me is how the hell do people know how many meters something is away? Estimation? Shit, I'm clueless in that regard.
-
Meh, I found the show to be rather uninspired. Instead of focusing on the harrowing experience of being a survivor they quickly turned it into a soap opera.

I absolutely agree about clearing cities, and the necessity of hard but not glitchy zeds. -
How long do people live? Not noobs, I mean the average pro.
cragzeek posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I want to know how long it takes these geared up friendlies and foes that tool around Churno and Elektro to get all that stuff...and how often they sacrifice it in exchange for an adventure at the coast. I'm just curious. I'm trying to get a feel for what my expectations should be, where to set reasonable goals. I'm out in the woods and I'm fairly well off. Now the decision comes, where to go, what to do...and how much do I have to gain or lose? So how long do you survive on average? How long does it take you get to your preffered set up? -
I can't imagine that EVER happening. I've been running zeds around all the major cities since the patch to test this out, I still am able to lose them indoors, up hills, around corners and through trees. If I am running full tilt they can never hit me.

My experience tonight through several hours of gameplay. 1) Zeds can run up hills but I can still lose them after a while if I keep zig zagging and ducking into tree lines 2) Zeds do not seem to be running indoors. 3) I seem to be fine prone-ing around but kneeling is drawing way more aggroing and running is (if it wasn't already) way out of the question anywhere near a town. I'm enjoying feeling some more fear from the zeds, but they don't feel any less buggy. As to the gear: a server ate all my gear recently. Screw it. That is not what this stage of the game is about. -
How will people lose zombies when they become fast indoors?
cragzeek replied to amudkipz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well I have heard Rocket say in interviews that he would like for zombies to degrade over time. But as it stands I think we are just all going to have to adjust to a huge ramp up in difficulty somehow. -

My thoughts exactly. I just got all my gear wiped last night. I can't imagine trying to do a run through churno or elektro to get start up equipment if zombies can now run through buildings AND their aggro radius is increased. That is insane. -

Those of you who have managed to get on. How and where?
