Having difficulty?? We got your back.
FriendlyBear replied to Fishmitts's topic in New Player Discussion
Hey there. Yeah, Zolfos can't receive anymore messages now! But, I'd love the teamspeak info. I'm not really a group person - much more of a lone wolf than anything. But, I would love the chance to ask you guys a few questions. I started about a week ago and I have a good idea of the game, but I do have some questions I'd love answered. Thanks! -
Share some tips for those of us who are new to Arma and DayZ
FriendlyBear replied to GoodNewsEveryone's topic in New Player Discussion
I can provide a bit of help here; 1: No. You start out with no gun. 2: Guns automactically start off armed when you equip them. If you found a 'package', you probably only found a magazine. 3: Zombies are run via the client's PC, rather than the server. The link is definitely a connection issue with either you or the server. 4: You do not start with a map. It appears as a lootable item ingame. Now for my question - How do you type in chat to people? I can't figure this out for the life of me. I can use voice chat, but not text chat. -
Same problem as above.

Could work, probably wouldn't.. but, could.

How will people lose zombies when they become fast indoors?
FriendlyBear replied to amudkipz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm sure my post won't matter much, but why not make the zombies harder to kill with anything but headshots, and make a lot more of them? If we make them slower - similar to the basic zombies in Killing Floor - but tougher to kill, and more of them, the experience will be more terrifying; more fulfilling. Especially if there's more of them and you aggro even one. There will be zombies that are fast, of course - you'll have to watch out for those. But still, it seems like it would make the game more fun. It might not make zombies nearly as much of a threat in the long run, but it would give that feeling that it's a never-ending Horde. I think that's more fun and more enjoyable than psycho, super-charged zombies that you can't outrun for shit. -
Helicopters aren't in the game anymore, I believe.

My girlfriend and I play a lot of games together. Although she loves L4D, I haven't managed to convince her to get Day-Z. She's watched me play a few times and thinks it's a bit too buggy from time to time. Especially when she sees me get killed by wall hacking zombies, heh.

Hey there. I'm looking for a friendly group; been looking for one since I started playing - my skype is freezingcarbon, but I'm on in fairly sporadic times. I've been playing FPS games for quite a while(most of my life, and I'm 18 now), and I consider myself pretty mature. I just bought the game and started playing about five days ago, but I'm learning very, very quickly. I recently obtained an AKM and an ALICE Pack, although I'm not doing so good on ammo for the AKM, but you know. I've had a fairly decentish amount of experience in PvP so far, killed a few people, only been killed by another player in actual PvP about 3 times. But, anyways, hope to talk to you on skype! -
Hey there everyone. Bought ARMA II specifically for Day-Z, and unlike some people I've seen.. I completely love Day-Z! Excellent buy! I'm 18 years old, been a video game addict ever since I was little. So uh, hi. Skype: Freezingcarbon Steam: blatantdisobedience - or BG| Handsome Sniper

Hey there; I know how it feels! Really, I do! I started playing the game about 5 days ago, and at first, I hated the game. I thought it was a glitchy piece of crap.. until I continued playing it - I learned a lot of things about it in a short time and realized it wasn't nearly as hard to get weapons as I initially thought - granted, primary weapons aren't always easy finds(like the Lee Enfield), but they're definitely possible to get! Just stay careful, stay low and be patient.

First off; I tried to search, didn't find anything - but, will DayZ always be free, or has something been said by rocket or somebody that it'll eventually require you to pay? I know a lot of the time mod creators aren't allowed to charge money for their mod, but with something this big, it might be a bit of a different situation, but I wouldn't know anything about it personally. Either way, I am curious. I just hope nobody gets angry because I asked this.

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
FriendlyBear replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hi. I'm a new player to the game and I found this post recently, so I figured I'd give my thoughts! I've been playing video games since I was a kid; all the way through elementary school, to middle school, to high school, and now I still play every kind of game. I have never stopped playing games. Playing Day-Z for the first time was a tough experience for me; I watched plenty of Youtubers play it, and it always seemed like it wasn't all -that- difficult... Then I got into the game itself and thought it was the hardest thing in the world - as time went on, I realized "Hey, this isn't as hard as I thought it was!" and everything began to get a little bit easier as I learned things. These features you suggest.. they're amazing. Day-Z is a game that's suppose to be hard; it's a game that I personally hate because of how difficult it is, but at the same time, I absolutely love it because of that factor as well. I want to get better at it, form alliances, make bases - become so much more on it and get all the best weapons and items and all that good stuff. Then I want to bring my friends in on it. I want to take my friends into a city, sneak around, gather ammo - and kill zeds! I want to sit there in a hunkered down position, shooting zeds as they file into a building. I think these features would be amazing - this is coming from a new player(as in, 3 days ago.) Another thing I think would be cool if it was possible to be added would be higher server populations - but I'm not sure if that would be at all possible. -
Hi there! Tips for a new player?

One more question - if a server has more people on it, are zombie spawns a little bit lessened? I usually try to join a server with fewer people on it(15-25), and then try and learn the ropes a little bit, but I always seem to run into large amounts of zombies. On that matter - is it better to join a server with more population, or less population? -

Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate it. -
Heya. I just bought Combined Operations, and downloaded the Day-Z mod and I'm looking for a few tips, as I've run into nothing but trouble so far. Now, the issues I'm having are probably little things, but to start off; the inability to equip the Hatchet while I have a primary gun - I managed to find a Lee Enfield, but had no ammo for it, but at the same time I didn't want to leave it. But since I can't put it in my inventory, I'm basically defenseless. Does anyone have a solution to that? I managed to get a hatchet, but well.. I couldn't do much either. Secondly, I'm curious about how zombie spawns work - in the few videos I've seen of people(I've been watching a Let's Play by a Youtuber I'm subscribed to), and the zombie spawns don't seem NEARLY as heavy as it was when I was playing - there were five zombies in a single barnhouse, which was when I had my first death. Thirdly, again.. I watched a few videos - mind you, these ARE newer videos. Only about a week old, tops. And somehow this person escapes zombies with relative ease by outrunning them, yet I have to run a pretty significant distance to outrun them. And last but not least, I seem to have an issue with syncing on servers where I'll have brief frame skips whenever I begin loading into a new area, causing me to be unable to do anything for that brief second. Now, I'm not sure if it's my connection, but I know it is internet related. I'm not sure if anyone else has this or not, but it was common during Everquest(an older MMO) whenever they hadn't perfected syncing with players and their game. But anyways, thanks for reading! Sorry for any stupid questions.
