is this really happening? 'cause if so, there needs to be a suicide option if your character has any kind of weapon, or a hunting knife. it's bullshit that i could have a revolver and not be allowed to kill myself whenever i want in a sandbox game.

I've tried crossfire enabled and disabled. I've tried seemingly every graphics option. I've read that "Very low" puts too much strain on your CPU so you should do "Normal." But still, with my 2x 2GB 6950 graphics cards, i5 2500k quad-core processor, and 8 GB of RAM, I can't run DayZ above low-normal settings and get even a stable 60 FPS (Vsync disabled because i don't get tearing and it makes me motion-sick). It usually dips down to 40 or 45 at the highest, with nothing else running, and it looks like shit to boot. And that's just when I'm sitting still--if I'm running from zombies or players, it can get down to ~25 FPS or completely freeze up for seconds at a time, often resulting in me wasting ammo or dying senselessly. And yet I can go run Battlefield 3 or Skyrim on Ultra settings. What am I doing wrong here, people? I've been playing for 2 months and I'm sick of not being able to play comfortably.

i had the same problem. way i did it was, run it with steam, export the registry folder, then delete that key, run it through non-steam source so it makes another hex, and export that as my "non-steam" reg file. then double click the .reg for the given character and run the steam version to play. there's a youtube video somewhere where some guy outlined it better EDIT: i should say,i had to uninstall and redownload/reinstall the non-steam version completely to get this to work, it was an all-day project because i ran them both before exporting either registry

While I appreciate you calling me a pussy, I'm talking less about the vehicle and more about the fact that everything I did in my entire time being logged on was reset, as if I'd never played today.

I just played on Atlanta 18 for close to 4 hours. In this time, I ran from Kozlovka to the NW airfield, looted a bunch of stuff, stole a far from some guys, drove away, repaired the car and replenished my inventory, and then parked to repair the wheels. ALL OF A SUDDEN, the server crashes with a "session lost," and I log back on, thankful that I remembered the server number and hoping to only have to run back a few meters to where I saved the car. But for some reason, it didn't save A SINGLE BIT of what I'd done on the server! I started out back in Kozlovka, with the same items, with the same killcount, without any trace of having done anything. No indication why--the red chain appeared only for a few seconds in the middle of my playing. I'm not upset, or anything (I know it's an ALPHA and yadda yadda, I had a lot of fun doing everything), I'm just shocked. How can it not be desynced and yet not even save my position or killcount, even if not the vehicle and such? How does the master server allow 4 hours of desync to occur? What if I'd killed someone or been killed, would it have tracked that?

I can laugh about it I guess. It just sucks, I grew really attached to that boat after a lot of close calls :( In retrospect, I should've tried to outrun the jet, now THAT would've been a good video.

i played 2 months without seeing antibiotics, then all of a sudden in the last 2 or 3 days, i've come across at least 8 of them. one fresh hospital had literally 3 in a box. did the spawn rate actually change somehow or did i just get lucky?
