What should i do next? Surviving is easy!

You should go to one of the big towns, find a nice spot where you can see most of the town and chill. What until you see survivors run in, then watch em and see if some one trys to kill them. If so kill that person if you can, or just wait until the survivor gets armed and geared then ruin his/her day. I heard theres bear traps now, set some of those up and see what you hook. -
The both look like similiar games but unlike war z, day z will be player formed like minecraft. At least thats what he said. So where both games have the same idea, they will probally go in very deifferent directions. War Z looks to me at this point to be more scripted and less stressful which is goo and bad. In anycase only time will tell, as far as we know war z may never see the light oof day, at least we have hands on with day z

Games plays quite well on my rig, but it has since I started. The zombies do seem to spot me quite far away and sometimes through buildings. I crawled in a small town, stood up behind a house and a zombie ran around the buildign and attacked me. Also good but wierd, I found a uzi in a house located in a small town. It had two clips and all, pretty cool. I have found quite a bit of supplies to, maybe I was lucky but I found matchs, map, watch, binocliurs, 1911, military flashlight, gernade, big back pack, axe, and a rifle all in 10 mins of spawning. It was nice but seemed to easy, but could have been luck. -
I can see it now, siting on a pier/ boat fishing, BANG shot in the back of the head. That aside I like the idea.

To late zombie game is being devoleped on the cry 3 enigne. Infact there are quite a few games being made that look to be copying day z. I say focus on thie engine and wait and see how the rest turn out.

I like the idea except the bounty thing. That seems a bit off to me. I think it would be awesome to see a military convoy slowly moving through the city killing anything that moves, maybe they kill a bandit or two. Take the idea even further and maybe they set up camps all around the map that can be over taken and held for as long as your able too.

New! Starter Weapon - Old Wooden Plank (Knocks out Player + Breaks on Hit)

I dont think starting with the plank is a good idea, but I like the plank idea itself. I like the idea of using it as a splint for your broken legs to. That makes mroe since to me then morphine, and with the amount of leg breaking that happens it would be useful. I also think you should find them laying around alot, and having them break after a while is a good idea. I think they should replace the axe when it comes to spawns. I went into a barn and there was 4 axes in there, crazy. House full of lumberjacks. -
I think it would be fun and it makes since but unless theres player towns I dont see this being good. Lets say they put it in the game, first you would have to find the tools and seeds to get the garden going. Then wait for the plants to grow. Thats cutting out alot of the realism such as watering the plant, and waiting a good while for it to grow. Ok so with that cut out, heres what will happen. Bandits will steal your plants You will die before even havesting You will die finding seeds You will forget where you planted them I like the idea but until some other things come in I dont see them implemented this into the game.

Zombies should have more random Loot

I agree, I would go even say have some of them have backpacks with items in them. In the event something like this really happened people would carry as much as they could on them. Maybe not a can of beans in the pocket, but bandages, water, watches, maps, and heck weapons. I sure know I would have a knife at all times, and why would the infected remove them. Look at the world now, I know people that would run around with hundreds of pounds of items, mostly guns. Now I dont know about different countries, so that may be were the issue is but the infected need more loot. May even help a tiny bit with the palyer murders, if you have a good chance of getting some decent loot from the infected over the itemless player. -
Just a thought, I think it would be cool for the new player to start of with a blank piece of paper. Then as you explore it gets filled in. Not as accurate as the map, but something to at least let you know where youve been. Could even have it transfer to a real map you find in the game, as a overlay. Maybe when the player gets killed by a zombie or murdered by a player thier hand drawn map can be looted. I think this would be good for future content.

This topic along with all the others about pvp are a waste of time. Pvp players win everytime, any sugestion to fix that and they say the people are wusses or what not. I think there should be some balance. I think shooting someone in the back, or shooting a unarmed person is just to easy. It doesnt take any skill to do that, and in this game it is one sided. I would prefer a even match, at least then when I make the kill I really earned it. But making it harder to kill will never happen, people feel way to acomplished for killing unarmed surviors. That being said I still very much enjoy the game 99% of the time, and I dont want to see pvp go away. -
1. First time playing, didnt quite understand the inventory, ran into a zombie and got hit and started to bleed. I some how lost him but needed to banadage myself. by now I was at 3000 blood. I could hear and could barely see, and some how drop the only badage I had. I ran to the nearest town and passed out in the street only to be eaten but a zombie. 2. Got the inventory system down now, decided to climb a light house and look for loot, never find any. While at the top I noticed some dude running in the distance,so to better hide I figured I would kneel, well I hit v instead and steped over the rail falling to my death. 3. While scouting on the out skirts of a big town I hear shots fired at me. I go prone quick. Before long I see a guy running in my direction with a group of zombies on him. I figure his shot drew them in. So I shoot him in the head as pay back for shooting at me. He goes down and the zombies eat him and move on. I stand up and again shots fly past me. I go prone yet again and this time I see a guy sprint to a jeep and jump and and start moving. I figure that mofo shoot at me ima take him out, I kneel and pop off 3 rounds, one kills him. I slowly move towards the jeep and boom, take a bullet to the head 4.In a big town on the roof of the office building, notice a survior sneaking below towards a store. I say hey, im friendly are you?. He goes prone in the middle of the street. So im like I can still see you, are your friendly other wise ill assume not.I watch for a while and see a zombie moving in behind the dude, I still be nice and say hey theres a zombie behind you, he turns and slides over and the zombie passes. He then climbs into the store. I decide to leave the roof and scout. I come back later, maybe 30 mins later and find a dude on the roof, he says his leg is broken. I have the stuff to fix em but first I tell him to put his gun away. I kneel to drop the injector and get shoot in the back. As I lay bleeding out the dude stands up walks over to me and shoots me in the head

In the current build I say shoot to kill, or avoid. If you notice someone following you and they havent said anything, kill em cause they are going to kill you. If you dont like being sniped, then you should avoid big cities. I have survived for days never once going into a big city. I see alot of noobs die and run right back on in there, im guessing for there own loot or maybe they dont learn.

I think its a great Idea, would even be cool if when someone murders another player on purpose of by accident that on the body is a note containing the player stats, how long they lived and how many people they killed. The bandits will be happy to have killed a player whos been alive for a while, while a survivor who kills the other player on accident may see the stats and see that the person they kill was alive a long time and never killed anyone. Anyways something to think on. -

I have only been killed in or near large cities. When I started the game I died alot from zombies, but now it seems players kill me 100% of the time. To avoid this I stick to dirt roads and old barns for supllies, and so far Ive been alive for over 3 days. -

PVP isnt the problem its the people. Bandits make since, but most people in this game arnt bandits, thier cold blooded killers. Bandits move in, take what they need and leave. Sure they will kill you but they will take your stuff and keep it moving. People on here wait on roof tops and hills to snipe you, just to kill you. They are basicly bullies and have issues. They seem to get something out of shooting unarmed players from the roofs. I dont see much difficulty in that, so if shooting a unarmed player gets you a sense of acomplishment then by all means continue. Now what about those complaing about pvp, that it should go. Thats just stupid, by now its pretty easy to avoid zombies so if theres no pvp then really you dont need all the weapons, because realisticly the only reason you need a gun is to defend against a real player. So in the end its as stated before if you want to survive make a group of your friends or avoid main cities. Sugestion- Leave pvp and just create some reasons to choose one or the other -
14 hrs, I was at a point were I could do some exploring, then ofcourse I ran into two dudes on a roof being attacked, I kill the zombies they kill me. I really love people, enough to give them free bullets to the face.

Yeah def not playing with you, if a end of the world event happened would hope you parished in it cause your messed up. On that note good like finding a backstaber, you will get yours eventually.

Buildings and moving from coast :)

All depends on where you spawned on the coast. The map is huge. I tend to go right with ocean on my right, if you run into a light house on the cost then keep going right. There are a few towns on the cost that usally have a axe and some basic food. When in doubt follow a paved road, just stay in the trees to make it hard to shoot you. -
I'm friendly but that seems to get me killed 99% of the time. Kind of funny the first two times I played i met two friendly survivors. The other 12 games I have died from shots in the back, shots in the face, one guy even played hurt, i went to help and his buddy shot me. I used to say friendly as soon as I see someone but that only alerts them to my presence and they eventually kill me or shoot at me. I have defended my self and killed 2 people who shot at me while i was running across a field. Unless you know the survivor I would consider them hostile and avoid them if your like me or kill them. Either way thier no good

Ok ive played for 4 days and heres what Ive learned so far. 1- 99% of the survivors are evil, so if you wanna stay alive avoid them 2- Zombies spawn around survivors, so if you notice a town in the distance and there are lots of zombies could mean theres other survivors 3- I find the axe in lots of the small towns, and in barns 4- Dont even go into big towns with out a weapon of some sort, preferable a gun 5- Dont trust a survivor, never turn your back on them and either kill them or run 6- never shoot a gun with out a plan, the shot will draw zombies 7- zombies cant run in buildings, so I always run in a building if they are chasing me, then you can easily shoot or hack em 8- zombies climb hills like you do so if you find a tall hill that makes you walk, then run up it at an angle and you will lose the zombie Good luck -
I think it would be cool. Give the player a reason to use those heat packs and to make fires to keep warm. Could even go as far as making summer so hot the player would need to cool down, by going to a source of water or walking.

I like playing at night, at least then I have a chance at not getting shot in the back. Sure I cant see for crap but its a good way to arm up for the day when all the killers come out.

Sounds good but realisticly, if you dont have time to bandage what makes you think you could shut door and slap a lock on before the zombie that was running after you is right there. Unless the event took 0 seconds like basicly clicking the door as your run in. I like the idea but unless you somehow agro the zombie while on the other side of the building seems a waste of time to implement.

Just want the zombies to stop teleporting around and walking through walls. I mean if they developed the technolgy to do that, then grab a gun zombies and kill some bandits.
