  1. Seeing these photos makes one realize the game really needs more civilian jackets. Also, suits/tuxedos/etc.
  2. Think Rocket mentioned he wanted to do a "hardcore" hive where only first person mode would be allowed, among other things. I hope that catches on.
  3. You only really need 1 texture for that, overlay it on all items and just gradually change the transparency of it depending on the item's current durability. 2mb image file and a few lines of code. ^^ Being able to quickly assess an item's condition based on how dirty it is is something I would almost consider a mandatory feature for this game to be honest.
  4. Since they are obviously open to modifying Chernarus I seriously hope they consider throwing in a river (or 3, I'm not picky). Rivers add such an interesting dynamic, especially with limited crossovers. Would make traveling with cars across the map that much more exciting. ;) Plus it would make boats more viable. Win-win!
  5. BudBaker, there's cheating in a game and there's ruining it for others in a public and social experience. And there's no such thing as a good liar or a good cheater. Being exposed as what you refer to as a liar or a cheater is tantamount to your attitude towards failing even though doing your best. Cheating and lying is never to be rewarded. This "turd" of a kid learned to either grit his teeth and get good, or cheat better. A lesson and a wall in life you, judging by your posts, obviously haven't hit yet. And yes indeed, once it does, life hits you hard bro. I rate your posts 7/10 would read again
  6. You clearly don't want to play DayZ. You want PvP for the sake of PvP in a controlled environment. You want Arma 2. Custom Arma 2 missions is what you are looking for, with zombie NPCs.
  7. Novel concept you have there bro. Sounds a lot like this game I've heard of. It's called Arma 2.
  8. It's like a private hive, just on a different map. Take Chernarus, remove 95% of the forests/fields, make most buildings enterable and multiply all military loot hotspots by 4 and you have Lingor Island.
  9. You could just wipe the slate and clear all position coordinates if the ID of the server you just joined doesn't match with your previous server. Back at the beach even if you switch back. :) I honestly wouldn't mind some server rivalry really, servers raiding each other for supplies. An outside threat would only serve to unite a server community even more. And the drama would be delicious lol. You would of course have to limit admin rights or this would fall flat on its face.
  10. #3 please for the love of everything
  11. If you server hop with server-side location system, you spawn at the coast. If you combat DC, you cannot relocate to a more advantageous spot with the help of a different server. Currently, the only thing that ties you to a server is the vehicles and tents, and the vehicles are hoarded by close-knit private groups on every server. Unless you play this game with friends you made prior, you are on your own. And your actions are without consequence because of your anonymity. This is why we have shoot on sight deathmatch. What this game is missing is community. Private hives have a community (and better anti-cheat protection as an added bonus). Why? Because you are tied to a single server and because side-channel is enabled. Community is good because your actions will have consequences. If you are an asshole you will get called out. If you are nice it won't go unnoticed, people will trust you more. Your name will have a reputation among your peers, your words will have more impact. If you want to switch server with server-side positions you will keep your gear, but you will lose the trust or notoriety you built up and the security of knowing who's a bandit and who's not, and you will have to battle the new server's Bean Coastguard in order to get to safety. And believe me, they will be after more than your beans knowing that you might be fully geared out from another server. Heck, you'll probably only be able to safely switch servers under the cover of night, giving time of day meaningful purpose while we are at it.
  12. Logged in to camp with the intention of doing crashed heli site runs to kill time. Server pop was half empty which I found suspect. Shouldn't be night server-time yet, so what gives. I didn't give it a second thought. 30 seconds after spawning I see the shape of a man in the clearing. He's holding an axe. Another two appears. None of us moves a muscle. http://i.imgur.com/gaiot.jpg We have a stare-out for a good minute or two before I abort after realizing and accepting what's transpiring. Got our first car ever repaired and good to go just yesterday with quite the story behind it. No doubt in my mind they didn't take it or did something to it. On the bright side it will be kind of fun to find a new vehicle to repair, like an adventure! At least until divine retribution hits and it gets nicked by the holy fathers. Again.
