I don't know if it would be possible because of lag or stability w/e but I think it would be great to have much larger amounts of zeds around towns, maybe triple what they are now? Possibly make them a bit harder to put down, maybe double their current health? BUT don't have them respawn 2 seconds after you kill them, that way ammo means alot more and if you agro them sure you're in for a shit storm but play it cool and prey you have enough ammo and you might be able to clear a town for 10 minutes before they start respawning on the outskirts of the town and start running in to track you. On the point of too much ammo, sure I find heaps of ammo but it's all assorted! So it's a case of do I keep the STANAG or AK rounds in the hopes I find an m4 or AK or do I load up on shells? It's not like you just magically find piles of ammo for your current primary... -
I like the idea, I have also bound my surrender key (home). I've seen a vid on youtube where a guy got legit robbed, it was so cool! Alas most people just kill you for the lulz or on the whim you might have something useful that they can't be bothered belly crawling for hours to obtain like you have and just shoot you in the back when you don't know they're there. Still I think it would make the game more immersive and deep to be able to do what you suggest.

I haven't killed anyone yet and I really don't want to unless I REALLY need something and don't want to head back to the old beach-bandit-bait stage. I mentioned this in side chat and I got the great reply of "well you won't live very long". My attitude is if I hate bandit players so much why become part of the problem? I had one guy shoot me in the back 5 mins after spawn, I only had a hatchet. When I asked what his problem was he said "Because you're a bandit!", how would he know this? And yeah of course I was out for his blood when I was trying to run away from his terrible aim with hatchet in hand :dodgy:

Hahaha, I have physical copies of ArmA 2 and the expansion packs, but after reading the way you talk to others there is no way I will tell you where to get them (they are still around if you know what sites to go to).

On the subject of accepting death/disconnecting

I read most of this OP. I think that some time of disconnection waiting needs to be implemented, say 60 secs from when you hit disconnect. This way it's not excessively long to log out but also punishes people for getting themselves into situations that they want to cheap their way out of. -

Hi all, I was recently playing Day Z, not sure which number this particular incarnation of my character was and something infuriating occured. I have seen previous comments in forums saying how this particular event has happened to them but that was about as far as I seen the discussion go. So I would just like to apologise in advance if I have missed this topic/thread and am starting something that has already been addressed. I was at the international airfield, I have spent days trekking there being cautious and vigilant and outfitting my character the best I could etc. I have died countless times before hand so I was proud that my dedication and learning to play was starting to give me something to show in return (progression). However, when I was at the airfield, after sneaking past and hacking many zeds I was just about to collect the spoils of my labour when someone spawned in behind me and immediately shot me dead. I was holding my hatchet (not that threatening to a man with an m4) and just getting ready to exfil, it was totally un-called for and in a way unfair. My point that I am trying to make is that I am hoping in the future there is a way to negate this issue, this being an Alpha build it is obvious there is much work to be done. All I am saying is I hope there is a work-around for this problem as I have seen others encounter it and quite frankly I was devastated when it happened and don't see how anyone could be happy with that happening to them. Thoughts? Maybe a limitation on them spawning within a certain distance to another player, say it automatically spawns them further away? I am not sure but obviously there must be a way to stop it from happening, maybe do not save location in congested areas (barracks, airports etc).
