We all know the most irritating/non-realistic exploit there is, right now, is Aborting. -When you abort, you disappear from the game, maintaining your last saved status. -When you log back in, you clear the area off zombies, also you can log back in on another server. This can be exploited when you are in PvP. Since server admins are no longer allowed to ban for D/C while PvPing, here's what I suggest: "If you ABORT WHILE BLEEDING, under any circustances, be it due to infected or to getting shot, you DIE on next login." This would pretty much end these problems, as people wouldn't be able to abort to clear off the zombies, and so, bandage himself, and would avoid PvP DCing because the purpose of aborting is to survive, and if you automatically DIE after aborting while bleeding, you might as well stay online and try and survive the battle. As for players who timed out, I think the current delay on removing the character is long enough, thus this feature would not envolve timed-out disconnects. +Support if you like.

Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

TENTS AND CARS ARE NOT SAVING THEIR INVENTORIES. 1.7.2.5, beta 95883. -
Dear sniper camping elektro noobs....
[email protected] replied to jnutt011's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
harley001, about your profile picture.. Don't forget there's a bandage too!!! And about the topic. People kill freshspawners in Elektro because it's safer than in cherno, where some groups hunt down bandits, and because pretty much the entire city is visible from the "Sniper Hill". Fortunately or unfortunately, people who used to server hop in the sniper hill now server hop in the plains beside it, and kill whoever is sniping noobs and leave their bodies unlooted. There you have it, a good way to get high quality gear, loot their bodies, you might leave Elektro with AS50, NVGs, rangefinder and more! -
Event: Freeside Trading Co. Open Trading - 8/3 - 8/5
[email protected] replied to Publik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Everyone on the server got killed by some douche hacker. When me and my friend arrived back at the location, most stuff we traded were removed from our bodies. And the FTC people were already there. They said they'd "Conduct a search." Yea...Right... They're pretty paranoid, mostly because they have shitty ideas regarding places to host such events. One does not simply uses the factory for an event envolving high quality gear. Other than that, they're pretty honest but slow in the negotiations, they seem to work in separate cells. I didn't see much communication/integration between them. Well, that's it. Satchel charge explosions, other fucked up stuff like that. Telling you to sit down, gigantic amount of dead bodies they killed, wasn't a good experience. I hope you guys improve it before I attend to another trading section. Best advice if you want to trade with them: Be objective. Don't waste time. -

Run, forest. Run! -
I want a SVD Camo sniper rifle. I have almost anything you might ask. Except for camo clothing, rangefinder and radio, I don't have those... So yeah, throw some offers at me, I think I have something you'd like to have... Add me on steam (SirTai) to discuss the transaction or tell me your price. Mmmkay? Thanks.

Bluntt, I don't currently have a motorcycle, but I do have L85A2, Mk 48, M107, AS50, M249, FAL, FAL w/ Night vision, NVG's, Ghillie suits... Your pick. You can pick two, depending on which two... Same offer to you, Stompopolos. I don't have rangefinders, but I do have 4 NVG's. Would you accept 4 NVG's + L85A2? Or ghillie suits? Add me on steam..

Hear the flies, body is missing. (V1.7.2.4)

Someone hid your bodies. Get over it :) -
I get that, we have pickup trucks, vans, sedans, hatchbacks, but no SUVs? (Not talking about the armored one, with the m134 4000rpm minigun. That'd be cool too, tho.) Everyone knows the vehicle of choice in a zombie apocalypse would be a big truck. We don't have the Marauder on ArmAII, unfortunately... But we have the SUV!!! Pros: -Realistic, non-military vehicle. -It's a very nice truck, test drive it in the editor! -It's not that tough, at least not as tough as an Ural, but it's fancy and looks great. To some people, that matters a lot. Cons: -More vehicles added. Not sure if this is a con or not. -Not sure if there are any more cons. Gimme yo beanz, and yo opinions.

To end all this "SLOW THEM DOWN" shit, just pay attention: "Zombies need to be fast because the pathing system is not that accurate. So when they go in the wrong direction, they need to be fast enough to catch up with you. That's why they zig-zag, and sometimes run away from you before comming to eat you." The pathing system works this way: The server relays the idle zombie position and his path to the player. When it's aggroed, your local machine takes over the zombie's pathing then it relays it to the server, which then, relays it to the other players. That's why they can appear as lagging. So if you slow them down, and they run in the wrong direction, they'll pretty much lose you themselves. The game is already too easy. Don't try to make it even easier.

Are Camo/Ghillie suits safe to wear!? Will they be in this next update? -
Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.4
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
So, let me get this straight. Once this update is out, IS IT COMPLETELY SAFE to wear clothes(Camo/Ghillie Suits)? Because I tried the Camo in 1.7.2.3 and I got glitched and lost all my shit, except for my toolbelt and backpack. So, IS IT SAFE? -
Tents not saving inventory and dissapearing
[email protected] replied to Maximilian (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Date/Time: Yesterday, throughout the night. What happened: My friends and me moved our camp, we placed the tents, and hours later, when the server restarted, they were all multiplied and we lost 99% of the items in them. Where you were: Chernarus. Can't give away the location. What you were doing: Moving our camp, using tents. *Current installed version: 1.7.2.3 / Beta 95054 *Server(s) you were on: LA17 *Timeline of events before/after error: We left the server to go to sleep, and about 8h later, we joined and the tents were muliplied and empty. We lost three tents full of medical supplies, we lost about 4 tents full with ammo as well. Luckily, we left the guns in our Ural, so they saved, but we lost pretty much everything we had stored. Tools, Food, ammo, medical stuff, other tents, car parts. This sucks ass, took us a long time to collect all that shit. Also, there is no apparent way to destroy that mass of tents aside from packing them. One of ours died and he cant pack them anymore, and his tents are EVERYWHERE! Mmmmkay thanks, please fix. -
God, EVERYONE knows it. When someone in your camp fuels up a vehicle, there comes that need to take a piss. AND IT COMES IMMEDIATELY. No normal people can withstand such relaxing and mistic sound like that! You HAVE to go to the bathroom. And it always happens in the worst situations, when you're quickly fueling up your vehicle a gas station near elektro. Its pretty suicidal to go take a piss, and not all of us have friends to watch our back! So my suggestion is: Change that sound, it is TOO relaxing. It makes us all want to pee. Mmkay? Thanks.

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
[email protected] replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I kill newly-spawned survivors. I don't like to, but I HAVE to. First time my group approached a survivor, we held him at gunpoint, and told him to nod if he was friendly. We tried to teach him how to use the chat/voice chat. He took off. Probably scared/running to meet his friends. 5 minutes later, after we stopped to refuel our car, he came back with a makarov and tried to kill us. No longer, from that day and after, if someone sees us, he's a goner. And there is, of course, the RESPAWN. If a player finds your camp, you kill him, he WILL come back with his group to try and raid your camp. They'll join other servers, walk to your camp's position, take good sniping positions, and spawn all at once, all in position to completely slaughter you and your friends. Only way out is to move your camp. Not to mention the large amount of betrayers, people that tag along with you, being friendly and shit, until he finds out the location of your camp, then he just kills as many as he can, or just leaves and organizes a raid like I said above. Mostly, we don't kill for fun, we kill because we can't trust anyone. Even if we need other people, my clan buddies would suffice. Our rule is: If you're spotted, you kill. If you're not spotted, it's your call. If the player is armed, you ALWAYS kill. -
+Support. After setting up a camp with a 3+ people team, you can pretty much survive as long as want/don't fuck up/someone finds you. This would change that reality, including the fact that you and your camp could, at any moment, be overrun by a horde of zombies. The could walk in packs of 20-40 zombies, and maybe 1 large 100-Z's pack on servers with 40+ players, with a random destination, There would be no need for the best AI ever, for them to stay together, because if you pretty much engage 10 zombies, its likely that the other 30 will hear you/your gunshots.

Same happened to me. Put my ghillie suit on, lost primary/secondary + ammo slots. All that was left was my backpack and toolbelt.
