From a programmer's perspective, you gotta love reading these QQ threads. People really don't understand how much work all of this is.

Make sure that when you switch weapons from your pack, always use the ">" arrow to move the gun *out* of your pack and into your main. Doing it the other way often munches it.

Sometimes I think people are just genuinely sneaky. Just now I was crouch running through an open field in broad daylight wearing a ghillie (wahooo!). I hear three really loud cracks, I'm not hit. I immediately prone. I spent the next 10 minutes rolling to the edge of the clearing and rolling around the full perimeter. No sign of the guy, and no more shots were fired. I thoroughly searched the area and found nothing. Now, I could easily come on here and QQ that he Alt-f4'd because I couldn't find him, and he could say the same thing about me. The fact is, however, that that isn't the case at all. I think a lot of these posts wanting to ban ALT-F4'ing are false positives; it is pretty easy to be sneaky if your careful. I do get it though when people actually disappear as you watch them in the open.

I got to the barracks at the airfield once. Just a bunch of tin cans and flares, lol!

The game may be about exploring, and that's great, but I don't have time to spend 10 hours checking every road and every clearing and every little building. Loot maps are great because it takes away the boring time wasting and gives you some clear goals.

I think it would be interesting if seeing a truck or car drive down the road would be a regular occurance. I think being able to get around the map, albeit in an obvious way, is handy. When I die I'm usually pretty sad and I want to get back into the action. Being able to bike or drive to a few good barns and remote stores would be great.

Day 1: Spawned outside of Komarovo. Found a bicycle by the lighthouse and rode towards Kamenka. Checked the deer stands to the north and found a few basic items, bandages, etc. Need medical supplies before going to far. Headed towards Cherno checking the barns along the way. Found a few cans of food, not much else. Checked the buildings and deer stands near Balota airstrip, not much there besides some food and ammo for guns I don't have. Rode towards Cherno along the rode. Parked the bike outside of the store and ran inside. Strangely no infected around. Found a new Czech backpack, bandages, tent, and food. Took the bicycle to the hospital. Tossed a bottle through the window to get inside, then filled my pack with morphine, bandages and blood bags. No zombies have seen me yet, so I headed across the street and found some matches in the apartments. Headed north towards Vysota, checking the barns and outbuildings along the way. Find a Lee Enfield and ammo. Headed north to Zub castle. Found a watch there and refilled canteens. Rode west towards Pulkovo and pitched the tent, storing morphine and other supplies. Found two other tents nearby with some pistol ammo; left it there. Rode to Green Mountain; killed about 5 zombies here and climbed the tower. No loot found here. Zombies appeared again, attempted to ride away but the bike tipped over on a trash pile. Had to run away and kill zombies that followed. Crawled back to the bike and managed to hop on and ride away from the infected. Rode west towards Zelenogorsk. Checked the barn and found nothing.

Encountered another player in the barn just north of Zelenogorsk. Had to wait outside and shout inside to make sure he was friendly. He was and I offered assistance. I needed a transfusion and he was able to provide me with one. We went our separate ways after. My first encounter with a survivor where they didn't try to kill me! Please move this thread to Survivor HQ if appropriate.

Found another one at the intersection of the three roads just north of Green Mountain (West on the road from Pogorevka, and it was right at the fork).

Crashed helicopter. I also found camo clothing in a church.

What servers do you play on? I've had strange experiences across servers. Sometimes I log in and I check several deer stands/high yield barns. They are either empty or full of cans. I try another server later and there will be 3 Lee Enfields in one barn! It really is just random chance. However, I think you can increase your odds; if all the spots are occupied by garbage I *think* that stops new stuff from spawning. Pick up the garbage and throw it somewhere else, walk like 100-200m away from the spawn and come back in a few minutes. New loot should be there. I'm not sure what the specific numbers are on this in terms of time and distance.

I've been playing for a while now and I have yet to see a single vehicle besides the bike. I have not seen any other vehicles in DayZ as of today.

I found camo clothing in a church once. No hat, short sleeves, and camo pants.

Really like the server time option! Favorites would be nice. Something I would like is the ability to keep a history, sometimes I forget the last server I played on and I had just saved a vehicle or something there. Annoying if you can't remember! Ideally there would be a list of all the servers you've visited (perhaps with the ability to leave notes per-server). This looks great!

Lol nobody makes a living wage off of streaming/youtubing video games, regardless of what they told you on IRC. Many people make a living off of YouTube, that is a fact.

I saw the door to a shed close and I almost shit myself thinking it was another player, but all I could find inside were zombies. Do they close doors behind them? Why so polite?

Day 2: Journied to Staroye. Dispatched many zombies. Headed south to Topolka Dam. Made my way up to Vysoky Kamen, then north to deer stand near Kumyrna. Headed west to search barns, encountered a crashed helicopter. Found M107 and a silenced gun of some sort. Checked barns to the west, player in the 2nd one pointing a gun at me! Had to deal with player and zombies they had brought with them. Headed to Zub castle. Day 2 Video:
