You might want to wait and buy it all at once....prices can drop significantly in 5 months.Also I saved myself a couple hundred bucks buying my monitors at the Goodwill thrift store. 20 inch flat screens for $30

I searched...found nothing. so Im posting. The fact that when you pick up, drop, move to or from pack, a weapon...all its ammo automatically goes with it. I thought this had been fixed either by DAyZ or in a beta patch. Am I wrong? I just lost all my MP5SD6 magazines moving it to backpack. They didn't vanish. I only had 10 slots in pack...So when i moved the weapon the clips went with it and either dropped or vanished. I was a ways away before i realized. GRRR

I believe the N key is the nightvision key in ARMAII. Don't know if it translates though

Just made night run into stary sobor base. No graphical glitches for me...and there WAS fencing in one of the tents so go figure. Running beta 95417 maybe that's why. Scored an MP5SD6 with 6 clips as well :) Sweeet. -
Why would say no until zeds get stronger? Whats the connection?

Of course..it makes so much sense. But I think it wont happen till stand alone is released. As of now Axe and crowbar are gun hacks (primary obviously) which is why they need to be reloaded and why they sound like a gunshot when you swing them. I really hope the ability to switch between melee and primary comes with stand alone.

With respect I don't think i was off topic. The thread is about stopping the rampant KOS mentality. You suggest bringing back side chat will achieve this. I disagree an repeat. ANY mechanic introduced or re-introduced will not curb KOS (IMO). Anyone can say anything on side chat...".yeah i'm friendly" or "....I need help" whatever. The reason there is no trust between players is because everyone is heavily armed and there is NO REASON NOT TO SHOOT.. Until there is a reason not to shoot KOS will continue. Plus you should edit your post and move the part where respectfully ask people who don't read the whole thing not to respond to the beggining of it. As people who don't read the thing won't see that part ;)

There are already ways to indicate friendly Salute Lower Weapon Direct Comm Any mechanic added to indicate a players intention is a waste of dev's time (IMO) Some bandits and PK'rs will indicate they are friendly and then kill you. The mechanics (while being cool and immersive) will quickly fail as indicators of whether or not another player can be trusted. What are we really talking about here? The fact that most everyone simply Kills On Site is a little lame. As far as I can see there is only One solution. There needs to be consequence to firing a weapon. It can be because ammunition is more scarce than it actually is. If you shoot on site you will quickly run out of ammo and be vulnerable. Or it can be that Infected are actually a threat and come from miles around when they hear a shot. Or some other reason I can't think of. Truth is the "style" we choose to play is dictated by the tools we have available. The only tools we currently have available are guns and ammo. And guns and ammo (at least for me) are not necessary for killing zombies. Make ammo the rarest loot in the game and people will start co-operating

You can always just create a new player ID in ARMA and start fresh.

No I experience this often....I've done a little work with expressions that randomly generate index items and to achieve greater randomness its usually good to push the possible result out further than there are items...example: Say there are 10 possible items that can be generated the expression would look like rand(-1, 12); This greatly increases the probability that index items 0 and 10 will be generated. Then just write something to clamp greater or lesser numbers to the respective ends of the scale.

You know Rocket has stated that reading peoples opinions on what they think is wrong with the game is a valuable part of his creative process. You call it "trying to derail the project". When in fact by effectively shouting down a person for dis-agreeing with Rocket you are the one who is potentially derailing the project because without the testers input about what they feel is right or wrong with the mod, Rocket would simply build a game with what HE wants...and he has stated explicitly that is NOT what he wants.

When i lose my internet...it takes 90 seconds and it tells me no message recieved. Hopefully this will be taken into acoount. And yeah hopping servers to find one that working peoperly. Sometimes I have to try 6 or 7 servers be fore I can play. Getting perma banned from playing DayZ. cmon.....looks like warZ's chances are getting better

People kill unarmed players because the game not challenging beyond 2 hours after spawning. They don't attack well armed players because they are cowards and don't want to be killed. Trying to have a reasonable discussion about in here is as useful as trying to converse with a roadsign. -
i think this should moved to it's own thread....very lefit concerns of many peeps. It can be responded to clearly everyone will see. Here a the same concern will be reposted ad nauseum and response will be buried

What about who lose connection do their crappy ISP or weak wireless signal. What about the fact that sometimes i have to log into 5 or 6 servers before I find one that is functioning properly (not killed on spawn, correct time of day, kicked for high ping ect.) Will these things be ID'd as server hopping or logging or whatever?

There are ways to bring back a sense of freshness to the mod. Eliminate tents and vehicles and make resources scarce. With clans and teams storing up large amounts of loot. They have nothing to do. So they gear up and go raid other players. without being able to store tons of gear this would not be possible....players would always be a few dumb moves away from death. No camps full of ammo and vehicles and food. It will keep people with something to do. It would bring way more tension to the game. Because not only could you still get shot any moment. But the shooter has to make a critical decision as to whether or not its worth it to shoot. If they are starving then its worth it to unload that pistol. I'm just saying.....even the griefers/bandits and pk'rs are starting to complain there's nothing really to do. No real challenge anymore. So bring the challenge of the game back. there is so many ways to do it without implementing a "punish mechanic". make it all about resources. You don't go on killing sprees because the resources are to precious to waste. that's it. It would make the game more interesting and challenging for everyone. -
Sounds like you encountered a griefer. Feel bad for them...they are sad and it excites them to ruin your fun. They,re the equivalent of vandals in real life. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done to help them. There are no rules here. No cops. No way to discourage except for with a bullet. I wouldn't bother offering suggestions about how to help them either because you will be attacked and abused. Just be patient. Aviod other players. This game is not about co-operation with other players. It's just a really awesome death match at this point.

Exactly...folks who play the "in a real breakdown of the system this is how it would be". Have you ever been in a disaster situation. Human history shows in situations like this people actually come together and support each other. Sure there are exceptions but they are just that...exceptions. In disaster situations the first thing people do is to try orginize and re-establish some system of order. So Rocket give some tools to do that please.. But maybe I am asking to much from a game design point of view. Because maybe this (deathmatch PVP) is really the only experience mmo sandbox games are capable of delivering. This is supposed to be the anti-game. But really its the same old thing. It's really really good. Maybe the best version yet of that same old thing. I was (and still am) hoping for more. -
Example: I am killed by another player...I'm prompted on screen...."you were killed by xyz". Now if I choose to I can go to website and "report" the murder. Once a murderer gets a certain number of reported murders (negotiable) they are from then on "Identified" in some way as a murderer in game. This is not the dev's or the game punishing you for how you play it is the community. This player "rap sheet" could reset itself every 48 hours or so, so a player would have to commit a high number of murders within a short time to be flagged. But once you are flagged it sticks. You are allowed an appeal (To the community, not the dev's) I don't see this as putting a bandit at a disadvantage. I see it as removing a bandits advantage. Its a tool. Just as a sniper rifle is a tool with which you can kill an unarmed, non-aggressive player from 400 meters (or whatever). This is a tool with which the community, if it so chooses, can punish unethical behavior. I do not see how this conflicts with the goal of the game....provide the tools and let the players create the world I do not see how this threatens pvp. It simply balances it And it fits perfectly with the developers plans to incorporate the website into game play. I'm open
