actually no, there are 3-4 assault rifles with below 400m range, every smg is below 400m range, double barreled and winchester are below 400m range, etc. theres basically about 5 viable weapons that aren't sniper rifles

People complaining about zombies being too easy are just ignoring the fact that engaging zombies is super risky not because of the zombies, but because if players are nearby they will immediately be alerted to your presence due to gunshot sounds and your location if they see the zombies.

that made no sense in reply to the post you quoted. i'm explaining to you that people complain about sniper rifles because they have the longest range and there is absolutely no reason to use other weapon types if you can get a sniper rifle except silenced ones for zombie killing weapon tiers in this game: 1200m range sniper rifles=silenced primary weapons 800m range sniper rifles 400-500m range assault rifles everything else is garbage

Losing your location in a game where travelling (via safe routes) often takes hours is a horrible idea and it's never going to be implemented luckily because I know the devs aren't that stupid. -

yeah there's a bug with the log out penalty after being hit by other players. Sometimes it happens when no one even hit you and it happens when you do damage yourself IE: Via falling. I've had it happen when I was damaged by a zombie also. It also lasts FOREVER. Like HOURS. -
Yeah and if you had a sniper yourself and you knew where the sniper was you could take them out 10x easier at much less risk. Fact of the matter is the longer effective range your weapon has, the better it is. This is why something like a lee enfield, which is a common low tier weapon, is so much better than, say, the ak74 or the non-silenced carbines. Less risk=better in Day z.

Depends. If the whole "players able to spawn shit as if the game is The Elder Scrolls with console commands" is tied to the actual engine then i'm sure Rocket isn't stupid enough to go with it if he makes a standalone Day Z.

Encounters with other players being sparse is a symptom of the zombies actually. Everyone is scared to go into town and loot stuff because in order to do so you have to shoot zombies which makes noise alerting other players to your presence/leaves zombie corpses/causes more zombies to aggro you which gives away your position to anyone looking in your general direction. If zombies were stronger people would just be even more scared to leave the safety of the treeline. -
the game is an alpha. If you want there to be no bugs, come back in a few months. You're a tester.

If you think any video game can ever actually be "realistic" you're just dreaming. Broken bones are a gameplay mechanics in place to force you to goto big towns to loot hospitals, not REALISM. -

The hacking is just an inherent invulnerability in the Arma 2 engine and until Day Z moves to Arma 3 or a standalone version it'll probably never be fixed. I've never seen a game where hackers can basically manipulate things like they're playing a Besthesda game with console commands until I started playing Arma 2/Day Z. I've seen aimbots and wallhacks etc sure, but those are client side performance enhancing hacks. I've never seen another game where people can teleport at will, spawn whatever they want, etc. -

You've obviously never read a post by me before have you? I don't mind the PvP system. If I die in the vast empty wilderness of the north then its because I didn't watch my back enough. Its when retards with all the best gear in the game come down to the coast in order to kill unarmed fresh spawns because they got bored of camping the NW airfield that I start to get pissed off. But yes, keep defending your pathetic little kill streak where you come to the coast like a retard and kill fresh spawns. Try and justify your existence by taking out your frustration at life on unarmed survivors. I find it hilarious. Also if you had bothered to read I said PvP should NEVER be taken away, but you were obviously so annoyed that someone had even DARED to suggest a way to make player killing less viable (and thus removing your only way to justify your poor excuse of a life) that you simply skipped most of the post and went straight into full troll mode. But hey, I find you humerous. Lets see what other troll like comments you can come out with. You're getting really emotional here because your horrible ideas will never be implemented... calm down. Jeeeeeeeez. -

I don't run into this problem at all. I mean yes people dc in combat and stuff but "every major loot spot" isn't taken by server hoppers.
