At witch exact time does the sun rise and set in DayZ? I'd like to play during dusk/dawn a bit more often.

This interview was done last week. At the beginning he said DayZ has ~700.000 players atm.

Alcohol dehydrates you, so you would need like 3x more water.

I couldn't find any info about this game except that IGN story. No website no nothing.

I don't really like the CryEngine. Everything looks so cartoony.

How many people who play on night servers have NVG's?

I died a couple days ago after a long survival and started a new character. Found a tent and a couple good stuff in Elektro and went north. Next time I log in my char. is gone and I have to start over again. So I go trough Elektro again and head north. Yesterday, when I log in I'm suddenly back to my first char., the one with a tent. Which is cool, cause I never had a tent. Today I log in and I'm back to the 2nd character. And no, I don't play on custom hive servers. What I'm afraid now, is that it will continue to switch me between the 2 characters.

Of course I died a couple times in the beginning learning the game but I just died on my first long solo survival attempt. I was at day 12 and fully geared except for high end rare military stuff. It was on the south slopes of green mountain. I heard sniper fire in the distance (sounded like a AS50) and went prone. But the shots didn't land anywhere near me. A couple more shots got fired and 2 death messages appear. Again the shots landed nowhere near me. I decided to head back where I came from (west) and take no risk. Should have crawled all the way. Cause the second I get up, I get dropped. I shot kill. AS50. Maybe he had a couple buddies with him, spotting. I don't know. The best thing I lost was a silenced MP5. What would you have done? Funny side note: On respawn, the first thing I find is a tent. Hospital looting will get exiting cause I never had a tent.

For this to work you need to play on a server with nameplates on and the guy needs to have a non generic name (no John, Jack etc). How to do it: Take note of his name before engaging. If he backs out add his name as friend in 'DayZ Commander'. You can now see which server he hops to. Join his server and welcome him for a nice surprise!

Gearing up is definitely to easy. Other players are the only danger you have once you are armed properly.

Was wondering how many play with a loot map. I do, mainly not to run past deer stands, but I think I'll stop using it, cause it breaks immersion.

Currently stuck at 'loading'. Tried 5 different servers.

Only direct comm is awesome, IMO. Much better atmosphere. And at some point they will add radios for long range communication.

Dayz will be standalone way before Arma III comes out. Rocket said he's aiming for September.

The game would be boring if everyone would be friendly. And if you play together with others its not that hard to stay alive. You probably make to much noise.

View distance was locked server side at 1600 before, I think. Now it feels a lot lower. All I see is fog in the distance. I hope they go back to the way it was.

The game is exploding while its in a "hardcore" state. Going soft core would turn the game in just another mindless shooter. The fact that the game is so high stakes is what makes it fun and special. The more HC they make it the better, IMO.

The patch definitely decreased view distance. Not liking it. To much fog

I started playing DayZ in the current version (1.7.1.5). I took a couple stupid deaths in the beginning learning the game, but now I have zero problems staying alive, finding loot, etc. And so far I played 100% solo. I think they should make the game even harder.
