I didn't read all post, but here's my tiny opinion: Why you should use the hero skin : 1 - You might, or might not, be more successful with meeting other players. 2 - The style. (no, the perks aren't a good reason) Why you should use the ghillie suit: 1 - You might, or might not, be successful in being unseen. 2 - The style. I'd say, if you NEED a ghillie suit for stealth or want to be the Big Boss of stealth, than take the ghillie and stop wondering. If you don't fit with the description above, I seriously think you should just go for the one you prefer the most to be wearing. Some people like to look like bushy-ninjas. Some peps prefer the scarf and the cap, etc... In the end, I'd suggest you make yourself feel and look "good", whatever that means for you. But if you want sombody to tell you what to choose, then I say you must take the ghillie. The more unique I am with the hero skin, the better ;P

Met in 1343 at around 2300, atlantic time. No idea of the name. Just a ghillie guy with an mk48. And nvg. And a friendly attitude ;P You shot me with the 2 other peps at the NW airfield. Just curious if you wanted to kill me with them or for some other reason killed me while not intending to do so. I'm not too angry but I'd have prefered if you just left me alive with no guns and just a tent and the essentials. Still, good kill... It's my first time getting killed in the back. Gonna remember your voice so watch out in the standalone ;P

If they made the game harder, it could be good, who knows... One point I do not agree is how bad your humanity would get. I understand it would completely change a normal person but I see people with as50 sniping players without a care in the world except a good k/d to be more inhumane than somebody eating someone else while they are very hungry. But that's just me.

Play on a high-pop server and try to survive in the north. Get yourself a sniper and watch over the Northwest airfield. If you see a player shoot another, kill the bandit. That's what I do... It's all in good sportsmanship, right?

Don't start that kind of shit on this forum. Pingu, the fact is battleeye's global bans are linked to the IPs. So if you ever want to play again, you're gonna need a new IP. Which comes with a new computer. You should think about how hacking fucks up a gaming community. DayZ isn't about "fun" and lolz.

As suggested by burtondrummerNY (second post), maybe some decay for the city would be good (considering how very little zombies there are, yeah, the infection started long ago...). I think they did just that for the I am alive game and that other game I can't remember the name ... (featuring a man and a little girl as protagonists)

You can check the Bohemia Interactive store. It'll give you the choice between buying a steam version or just a normal digital version (which doesn't use steam). If the problem is bandwidth, you could download it on steam, have steam on all your other computers, and then transfer the steam Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA files. It shouldn't cause any problem with battle-eye since you'll be using the same account. (pm me if you are interested about transfering your files, I can help a bit)

One good way to solve the problem of ridiculous cheap pvp would be to make high precision rifles as realist as possible (as hard as possible in the same way). Altough long range combat and unconventional warfare is the way to go in real life future, as many people in the game should be able to use correctly the sniper as how many people in society would be able to grab one and use it correctly in a real zombie apocalypse. Good ideas were brought up : 1 - Adding wind factor ; 2 - Jamming when untended and not used correctly ; 3 - More precision when pointing at a precise target area over time (right now:starts at 100% stability unless you've moved earlier).
