Want to get better than others? Practice more. Simple? For skills and perks go check RPG games.

I just wish my character wouldn't stop for a couple of seconds every time when he falls down 50cm while running.

They did it again :) Released in experimental, bugs, not fixed, push to stable and hope for the best. gg

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
alsmir replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
I don't see a problem tbh. People don't really want a hardcore survival. The best survival mod for Arma2 (DayZed) died because lack of popularity. Sure it wasn't heavily advertised, but it was available on DayzCommander so any real fan of survival could easily find it. People just like to say how badly they want the survival whenever somebody kills them, but the moment survival gets real they quit, because they'd rather be able to find gun after 5 mins of looting and focus on finding new hats. -
Fck no! I spend enough time at gym irl. The moment we get tedious weight lifting introdeced to increase your characters strenght we will see bots that will do that for you. Don't have the opinion about toilet actions but I can image massive bitchfest on the forums when bandits add shitting on the body of thier victim to their routine.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
alsmir replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I just assumed that everbody is using free look when running to constantly check the surroundings, so pressing one extra button is no prob. Can't even image running without that. And people wonder why they get killed... facepalm.jpg -
Can't wait for vehicles to be implemented to read all the complains "I could totally build a car from a scrap if I had engine, some wheels and metal parts"
-
1. Get the mod. Get on the server without extra added vehicles, then come back and talk. Majority of people will have to stick to running when going form place to place. What do you expect? Fully repaired vehicle next to you whenever you spawn? 2. I'm talking about the weight. Anything that offers any decent protection will mostly be made of metal plates. Chain armour takes a crapton of time to make so I don't think we have it in SA. 3. Topic title: "Craftable armour". Are you saying you can craft modern combat armour in a shed using some basic tools and materials?

Do you want to see persistant storage disapear with player death ?
alsmir replied to massacrorBKK's topic in Suggestions
Nope, based on my experience with the mod. Finding a tent that you can place usually takes some time, placing it in a decent spot takes time, finding usefull extra items and filling your tent with them takes a lot of time. So if I have to spend 2-10hrs preparing all that and face the risk of losing it if: shot by random player, killer ladder, bugged zombie inside the wall kills me, ACT death, my own vehicle decides to kill me for no reason, falling 5m and dying, some other bug kills me - I'm pretty sure I'd never bother with tents at all. -
I'm ok even with full plate armour as long as your character is out of breath after jogging 100m. Good luck getting anywhere wearing armour, unless it's just for sitting on your ass in Berezino.

Well, I've done pretty much everything there is to do and PvP is the only thing left that can be fun every now and then. When there's some new content I'm always there to check it out. Currently waiting for vehicles in SA. I wonder how many people I'll be able to kidnap by stoping next to them and yelling "Get in the car! There's no time to explain!"

All of the above: (Veteran) Main skills: knowledge and experience Weapon: any Loved items: anything that offers versatility Hate: rng (PvP) and lack of challenge (PvE) Wishes: more complex mechanics, more challenges Chance of KoS: high (note: only shoots if almost sure of hitting/killing the target) Been active since the beginnings of the mod. Found every single item, shot every gun, driven every vehicle. Survived jungles in Lingor, desert of Takistan, cold nights in Namalsk. Explored every inch of Chernarus. Practiced sniping in ACE, flown helis in combat, landed planes that run out of fuel. Shared last bandage and can of food with friends. Invited strangers to his fireplace. Ended life of bambis, lone wolves, heroes, bandits, survivors and whole clans. Died many times, taking a lesson in every death. Survivor, bandit and hero. Currently seeking thrill in PvP combat.

Even with like 100 vehicles on a server it's usually something like: 85 hidden all over the map. Forests, bushes etc. Mostly far away from spawn points and cities. 5 being currently used. 8 sitting on their spawn points - completly ruined, require hours of collecting parts to repair them. 2 sitting in crowded places as bait, being covered by sniper fire. Get used to running. Cars are loud, difficult to maintain and make you a target for everyone that can see or hear you.

1. Get some guns. 2. Find enterable building. 3. Cover entrances. 4. Congrats. You've created a safezone. 5. ??? 6. Profit.

Based on current developement speed I'd say: check out the mod to see what you can expect in SA and then just enjoy your summer. Right now, yeah, we pretty much wait and report bugs. Devs have a decent plan what they want to implement in upcomming months. Tents and persistant storage should be a big game-changer for people unfamiliar with the mod, but it seems like we might have to wait a couple of months for them. Even if we get surprised with some big update it will probably take at least a month to go from experimental to stable.
-
You should give it a try. I strongly advise to try out servers with most basic settings and staying away from Epoch/Overwatch and any server that has extra 1000 vehicles + weapons. I hate to say that, but: SA is still under developement. It's still in Alpha state, which means that we should be testing stuff rather than expecting to have a great time.

Exactly. DayZ "skills" are about what a player can do, not his/her character. It becomes clear after you spend a couple of months or years playing with other people. My group started playing DayZ over 2 years ago. We all started as noobs but then we started to learn. Now it's very clear to me how each of us improved, got better. Some of us learn faster, some slower. You could even go as far as saying we have different character classes: out of 7 people we have one brilliant pilot (as long as he's sober) and at the same time we have designated drivers (2 of us just kept crashing cars to the point where we no longer let them drive). Some excell at sniping, others are great in cqc, there's a guy that always have extra food and water to share etc. Just enjoy the game. Sooon you'll realize how unique experience it offers.

Whats the craziest that that has happaned to you in DayZ that people don't belive when you tell them?

Driving a quad on the road from Cherno to Elektro. Going pretty fast ~90km/h. Suddenly, a bloody rabbit out of fucking nowhere. I run it over but... it flips the quad, sends me flying a couple of meters with bleeding, shock and broken leg. When I'm bandaging myself, quad explodes. I stayed away from quads and rabbits since then. Edit: Oh yeah, trying to run over a zed with a bike gives similar results, minus the explosion. -
Play with friends, seriously. They can patch you up or at least help you respawn...
-
You should add the option for the 3rd question: "Because I can" Anyway, looking forward to dark nights, where every idiot starts running with a light source making them a perfect target. I assume people will be stupid enough to try looting places during night time.
-
Shit man, and here I was thinking DayZ isn't rl. I refuse to surrender to wannabe bandits that only go after unarmed people, especially when I have nothing to loose. You want to feel better about yourself? Try harder.
-
Say whatever you want, but couple of times I was running around shortly after spawn, no weapon, no gear, meeting random geared player. He aims at me and says "Hi". I don't want any trouble, so I just turn around and try to run away. He would chase after me yelling something like: "Hey man, stop. Stop, lets talk. Stop or I'll shoot you. Stop." Bam, starts shooting. Social freaks.

Around 1 month of active playing in the mod. Survived 1 heli crash - damn those power lines, 2 car accidents, running over a rabbit on a bike and faling off with a broken leg, mulitple quad acidents, got shot a couple of times, got shot at a lot. Fun times.
