Solo players will run out of the ammo but that's about it. Clans have lots of supplies and can sweep through military spawn points in groups.

Holy shit. I didn't realize before how many carebears this game attracted and once again people don't make any research what kind of game this is before buying it, then they start complaining, calling people sociopaths etc. Why don't you just play farmville if the idea of someone shooting you makes you piss your pants?

This game would die within a week of disabling PvP - people would just get insanely bored. So don't complain that every now and then someone shots at you.

Try looking for camps in the north. Just yesterday I stole a van and a bus, got the van stolen from me, found an atv, crashed it, then found 2 guys riding atv, killed one of them, the other escaped with the atv - it all happened in the north, that's where the good stuff is.

Since when having ghille and SVD means you're super geared? Do you all guys run around with AKMs or something?

Butthurt much? And I don't have to play with the nerfed guns - me and my friends have a huge stock of better weapons but hunting survivors that can't really fight back sucks.

Decided to play a bit on a polish server. First of all I log in just to see: You are dead screen. Bad start. New life, new hopes. I started in a low populated area near the coast. Run towards a couple of buildings but only found a bunch of zeds and one "garage" with two zeds inside. I was defenseless so I decided to skip that area. Decided to follow the road and train tracks, kept running for ~10 minutes just to realize that it is a dead end and the road just ends in the middle of nowhere. Then I saw something in the bushes near the road. At first I thought it was a bus stop, but when I approached more closely I realised it's actually a bus. I'm a fairly new Dayz player and I've never heard about buses being driveable so that was a big shock to me. I've entered it - it had very little gas and the engine seemed to be broken. To my surprise it actually started. I managed to get back to the buildings I skipped before when it run out of gas. Decided to look into that garage. Found some tin cans and lured the zombies away and, lucky me, in the garage I found Jerry Can and engine parts :) Repaired the bus, put more gas into it and I had my first functional vehicle. After a while of driving I've reached a small village. Pulled over, because I didn't want the zeds attention and run into the nearby building to look for some loot. On my way out I've heard the engine running. Quickly run out only to see someone driving away in MY bus. :<

My little story: Just started playing Dayz two days ago and still alive. Spawned near Elektro, sneaked my way to the church but there was barbed wire and I couldn't enter. Run to the fire house and found some dead guy with a decen't starter kit and a rifle. Grabbed all the stuff and run away from the city. Headed north which was kinda tricky without the compass, but I had the map and figured out where to go. Decided to go to the famous NW airstrip just for the heck of it. On my way found a crashed heli and zombies around it. Decided to check it out - DMR and ghille suit - score! Got to the airfield and slowly searched all the area - it took like 2 hours. Lots of good stuff (and another crashed heli with M24 and FN FAL) - but also couple of players, one of them tried shooting me but I got away, sneaked around and sniped that bastard. I was running low on food so decided to go to some village. Killed a pig on the way, made some steaks and currently sitting near Stary Sobor and trying to figure out what I want to do now. I also have some advice for newbies: - starting without the gun might seem very harsh, but very soon I've learned that most of the time you don't really want to shoot. Shooting one zed might attract 10 more of them and even bandits. Just learn how to sneak and be patient. - when you start a new life grab everything you can at first. Empty bottles and tin cans can be thrown to lure zombies away from precious loot. - smoke grenades are awesome. Thrown two of them on the airfield and they attracted ~20 zombies leaving me with the clear path to the buildings. They also attract players so be carefull. Stay hidden and stay safe.
