You can already freelook while using del and end to turn.
-
Yea I'm aware of how it is now, and the main complaint with removing that seems to be twitch shooter-ness.

I don't see why raw mouse input has to let you shoot behind you instantly. I can look behind me just as fast as I can in a game. I can't move a horizontally held rifle that fast. Why not just implement a torque limit on the body, held item and possibly backpack? Let my head turn faster than my body like it can in real life and give extra dexterity for light/well balanced weapons. Actually calculating moment of inertia would allow you to turn faster by lowering the gun like you can in real life.

With 120 rounds on a moving target I'd say you just missed a lot. I've only had what I described in the OP happen a few times, definitely not many times in a row.

Just want to see community preference on 1st/ 3rd person servers quickly.

Is it even possible to tell if someone is using their sights just by looking at them? Not sure why it matters. It's a lot harder to shoot with the crosshair anyways because bullets aren't aligned with it. -
Make 1st person less clunky - remove mouse acceleration, deceleration, smoothing.

I'd be fine with it if it weren't implemented in such a horrid way. Also if you get the drop on a sniper then give them time to see you, aim and fire, you have noone to blame but yourself. -

It is not any sort of turn speed cap. If you turn your sensitivity up you can still turn extremely fast. All it does is screw low sensitivity players. -
PeerBlock shows this sort of thing a lot, unsure why.

Kill on sight... my group is doing it now

Why does everyone bring up CoD constantly on these forums? -
That's overly complicated. All Rocket needs to do is perform an XOR reversal between the stack pointer and the 5th bit of the EAX register. Then when a cheat attempts to load and it tries to link the inverse base pointer to the kernel PEB interface it'll cause an Access Violation within the HAL.

When I shoot in DayZ, I almost always use my crosshair if I can. Why? Because the iron sights block my vision. I was having a conversation with a "friend" (actually I hate him and he sucks) about that being unrealistic. In real life, my other eye would let me see what's behind the sights. Then I realized that the Oculus Rift would allow you to do just that... for a price. Why is this blatant pay2win allowed?

Let people play as they wish for the love of God!

DayZ just isn't for the type of person that would quit the game over that. -
Mouse issues, literally unplayable... top priority?
altimor replied to Rekuja's topic in General Discussion
This definitely isn't it. You can turn your sensitivity up and do 5 360s in a second. It just screws low sensitivity players really hard. -
No, because most people can run the game decently on minimum settings and turning it up past that a disadvantage.

It's currently possible for random people to gain admin powers.

Developers lied, hackers can teleport players.

He's not expressing it in the best way, but I believe he means the server would have to respond to a client requesting to set someone else's position. It has nothing to do with the existence of a script command. -
Have a hacker who literally takes pictures of his hack with the Steam Overlay and shows them off on another forum.

No, I hate those nasty cheaters. -

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
altimor replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
I don't care much about die-hard realism as long as my bullets don't spray everywhere (like it currently is). Would be great if the aiming system was completely replaced too. Anyone who says the negative accel is to simulate the weight of the weapon is full of shit. It isn't affected by what weapon you have and it penalizes low sensitivity players far more harshly. You can turn up your sensitivity and do several 360s a second.
