You can't have different characters in one hive. Only different profiles, this includes different name, face and such. You can have different characters between different hives.

I think this does not work in the new patch.

Fist of all you need to have a map to set a waypont. Second the server must have the feature enabled. Some don't. Change servers and check it again when you have a map.

Because some are new players and they want to familiarise and others are way to deep into the game that they want a "fun break". Now some personal taste, zombie apocalypse is fresh. Most people are dead or undead, equals alot of unused cars. Personaly i prefer a server that has 100+ or even 200+ vehicles that are all red. Though no start up gear, no crosshair, no map tracer, no nameplates+distance meter and even no 3rd Person. This is more realistic for me. Vehicles should not be the problem. Parts should be.Yestarday i was playing Oring a new map which is trully amazing and it supports this idea in the actual gameplay and mechanics. Cars are easy to find parts are not. For choppers now... Choppers should be 1, max 2 on each server. But fully repaired with no fuel and only spawning north. It seems more balanced to me that way.

Take your time, don't team up with any real life friends that already playing the game, they will spoil you by gearing you up, teaching you things that you should not know in the first place. Things that you should learn by experience, trial and error. The game has much to give you if you explore it properly.

It's fun because you make your own story, you develop your own playstyle without any guidelines and you deside your own endgame, if there is an endgame for you. It's more fun if you like adventuring, if you like getting frustrated in a strange loving way, it will make you feel emotions you never felt in other games. It's even more fun because the mod has the ultimate human interaction.

Well said OP. Well said. For me this patch is really nice. Has it's flaws but it's really good. At last the zombies make me shit my pants again. Forcing me to go slow as hell so i won't aggro and do the less noise possible i can. Even a tin can will raise hell. The only, THE ONLY thing that should be fixed is the amount of zombies that get aggroed by someones actions. It seems like you aggro a zombie and the zombie you aggroed invites friends. People who write sentences like: "Oh my God, Razor, what is this sh*t, zombies are freaking awful, were dem choppers mayn? What is this!? I hate this! I will stop playing! You ruined DayZ.." i would love them to go away of the mod and back to their little arcade FPS games or to [insert dayz shit clone here]. Even if the game goes to 500.000 unique players. At least there will be respectfull, well minded folks, with helpful attitute towards the community. Cheers.

Don't be Homeless! Think out the box. Tree houses. I was thinking of them lately since as a child i had build one of them with my father in my house yard. With great efford you could build one of them. You would need a ladder, ropes, alot of chopped wood, nails, hammer. You could possibly camo them too so it would not be that much of an obvious. Barrel on Fire Instead of a fireplace you could store some barrels that would only be stored in vehicles so you can fill them with chopped wood and set them on fire. You would need obviously the barrel (maybe open and closed. That would force the player to have a toolbox so he can open the top) some gasoline or a jerry can and 4 piles of wood. That would provide warmth indoors safely without a fireplace. The same could apply to a metal bucket that could be carryed by survivors. I hope my English help you understand. Cheers

Consider him as enemy AI, Sneak Around him without getting killed, Kill him, Help him, trick him do what ever you want. You miss the point of DayZ. There is no end game or guidelines of how you should play the game. That's the magic thing. Cheers

Apart from easter eggs, some characters from horror stories that are around the forum could be good. Just for the laughs. I specifically liked very much the one in Skalisty Island with the Ghost Lady. The amount of people that go to Skalisty is small. Even smaller is the amount of people visiting the lighthouse area. So it would be a good place to have a little extra horror. On topic now, easter eggs are fun. I remember the one of namalask at Object AI2. I could not stop laughing. A good one(personal taste) could be, NE and NW AF, same buildings, there is a 0.01% chance that you might find the 3 kerbals roaming around ^_^ . Me like references to other games. I remember the minecraft reference to Boarderlands 2. It was good fun. Cheers.

The map is gorgeous. It's nicely done. The landscapes and the sceneries are awesome. For some strange reason the map reminds me of Greece. Really nice mechanics with the containers and the Sleep option. The only thing i did not like was the zombies, they don't have any kind of blood or filth on them. Other than that i call this map/mod Amazing ! I can't wait to have a bit more good people. Keep it up. --EDIT-- Ok, I've been playing for 3-4 hours. The map is AMAZING. I feel like i'm playing skyrim while i am adventuring. It's EPIC. Actually words cannot describe it. And i'm not over reacting. The sceneries are amazing. I'll stick to it for far too long i think ! --EDIT2-- Been through 2 restarts. I'm in love with the map. Cheers.

Welcome to the forums mate. Try getting DayZ commander to do the updates and server browsing for you. For the lag the only things you can do is play with the settings. As you explained (I can barely move) I can suggest you some graphics settings that might suit you although i don't know your hardware specs. When you go into the game, on the main menu screen navigate to Options, Video Options and set your Visibility to 1300, Interface Resolution matching your Screen resolution and 3D resolution on 50% (Half of your Screen Resolution). When you have these done click on Advanced Button, Set everything to Low/Normal except Antialiasing,Atoc,Shadows,Post Process and V sync which i suggest you to have them disabled. With these done you can go ingame and see if it's playable. If you have a decent framerate ( Monitor it using a 3rd party program like FRAPS. A decent framerate for me is 30fps plus) you can set your 3D resolution to 100%( The same with your monitor resolution) so you can get rid of the blurriness that Half 3D resolutions causes. One thing you might want to know, if you set anything to normal and below you force your CPU to process it. If it's High and above you force the GPU to process it. So play around with your settings so you can find a balance point. But as i mentioned before Keep Antialiasing, Atoc, Post Process and V sync disabled. Click this link for Index of Helpful Threads.
