I think it's pretty lame to use hacked weapons and hacked equipment, even if you didn't put it in the game yourself. There's a reason why the ammount of different weapons is limited and all those super-rare weapons are already duped to the max so you'll already find tons of guys running around with .50 cals. The game would be way more fun with low-grade gear and if high-tech weapons like .50 cals. or military sniper rifles would be indeed rare. Those hacked weapons make the situation even more critical. Two days ago my squad had a fight with an enemy clan on our server. We wondered why they could see us that quick and we had several casualties, although we won. Turned out they had 2 AS-50 TWS... I'm not saying they hacked it in themselfs, but by using such stuff you are gaining a huge advantage in DayZ and from my point of view using cheated weapons if you know they are not legit, is cheating too. Just because something isn't banable by BattleEye doesn't make it legit from a morale point of view. Have some honour and common sense and don't use such stuff. My squad will destroy all found hacked weapons and the according camps related to it. Think about it! Everyone is crying about the Hacker-problem in DayZ, yet somehow most find it ok to use hacked weapons themselfs just because it isn't punished by a global ban on BattleEye. Am I the only one who finds that ironic? Everyone who uses such hacked stuff is part of the problem himself!

Keep spawning on the coast.
cwc_shadow replied to Furry_PawstarZ's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
For me it only happens when I can't connect to a server (stuck at "Loading") and have to close the ArmA II task to get out of the game. Once I then connect to another server, I respawn at coast with my full gear. I guess if you are stuck on "Loading" and are quitting by closing the task, your characters position isn't saved or lost and that's the reason you respawn at coast. This should be fixed by priority for the next version. In DayZ it's very common to get a server that you can't connect to and if you then always would have to restart at coast it would suck. That was not a problem in earlier versions. I just have it since I installed the last ArmA II Beta patch and DayZ v1.7.2.5. €dit: To avoid this, only join your favorite servers that you know that work. -
Finding Nemo - Looking for someone?

I walked into Cherno supermarket to find another Survivor in there and immediatly shouted "Don't shoot, I'm friendly!" over mic. He kept aiming at me so I turned around and facehugged the corner, aiming on the ground shouting "Look! I'm not even aiming at you!". Then I catched several Makarov bullets in the back for no reason, probably because I had good stuff that he wanted. In the following firefight I killed him. So to "jim", the bandit on either US 101 or US328: Next time you want to shoot a friendly guy in the back to murder him, make sure he dies! You are a terrible shot and I hope you enjoyed the load of bullets I put into your body. It was well deserved. Too bad I didn't get another humanity bonus for killing you. That would have gotten me the Hero skin probably. -
Humanity increase?
cwc_shadow replied to mironrijff@hotmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Humanity is stored with your CD-Key, NOT with the individual character you play right now. If you have killed a bunch of people with previous characters and are now playing the good samarite, you might still have a bad humanity, because of your previous murders with your DayZ account. It's like Karma which is gained/lost all over your lifes over and over again. Rocket said when the humanity-debug field was removed, that humanity will still be monitored in the background. Now it's back and surprise, a lot of players have gained a very negative one because they thought they could kill everyone without consequences. Having a bad humanity isn't really "bad", it doesn't change anything for you, except you might get a bandit skin if you have a very bad one. I only killed in self-defense so far or when I felt threatened and my humanity is +3550 because I tend to help others in need. I'm not a medic, but if I see someone unconcious I'll drag him to safety, patch him up and cover him. If you play like that most of the time you'll get a positive humanity sooner or later. Granted, you might get killed every once in while by some ungrateful douchebag, but you can either have a good humanity value or keep killing on sight and get a negative one after some time. You can't have both. -
Keep spawning on the coast.

I'll try only connecting to my favorite servers where I didn't have problems yet. Maybe this way I can get rid of it and don't risk spawning at the coast again. Well right now it doesn't matter as I was killed by a hacker yesterday anyways and have to start over again. But it would suck to get some gear, go inland and then spawn at coast AGAIN. -

Nah, it also happens if you stick to v1.7.2.5 and can't connect to a server. If I was stuck at "Loading" for some time (5 minutes) and then aborted to try another server I always spawned at coast. Even if the server before was also a v1.7.2.5 one. I think that connection problem (stuck at loading) is causing this for me. I only respawn at coast after I couldn't connect to a server. -
Server: DE 1523 Problem: Hacker Time: ~15 minutes ago Just ran into my first Hacker on DE 1523. All of a sudden I turned to a rabbit and could see my character standing beside me. First I thought "bug"? But then realised "Probably hacker..." and tried to leave the game by pressing Esc. But the option to abort was greyed out. So I pressed ALT+F4 to get out ASAP when the message in the pic appeared and I died. I then respawned in debug field again as rabbit. That's where I then ALT+Tabbed to close the ArmA II task to get out of this mess. Maybe someone from DE 1523 can check the logs for the hacker? I tried refreshing the player list in DayZ Commander when I was still on it. That's the other pic. The "Hitler" guy joined like 5 minutes before I became a rabbit. Not sure if it was only a guy with a poor name choice or the Hacker himself who then left after he messed things up.

Happened to me two times already. In a few hours I'll see if it happens a third time. If it does I'll stop paying for a while until this issue is fixed. There is no point to go somewhere if you are getting teleported 4-8 km back to the coast just to walk all the distance again while during the whole time you live in constant danger of getting murdered by some cherno/elektro wood-bandits who wait for newbies. -
Coast Spawning, Please Explain.
cwc_shadow replied to Gustav Mahler's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Happened to me yesterday. I haven't played DayZ for 10 days and installed the latest release (1.7.2.5) from Dayz Commander and also the latest ArmA II Beta (95883). I was in a wood north of Cherno the last time, but when I logged back in I spawned at coast with all my stuff. I then walked to Stary to meet some of my friends who where playing on another server. After I was there, I switched to their server, but got stuck on "Loading" for ages. It took me a while to figure out that they all had been still running DayZ v1.7.2.4 and also was that server. I still had a backup of that version so I reverted to play with them. When logging into that Server again (now with the correct 'old' version), guess where I spawned again: in Cherno! Again with all of my stuff, but I had to take that stupid 5 km walk again... I then said to myself "FU" and reverted back to 1.7.2.5 to keep playing on the other server, as I wasn't in the mood to run all that way again. When I logged back into the other server I was playing before, I still spawned on the coast in Cherno (d'oh!). I sticked to the new version because I didn't want to risk my position getting reset with 1.7.2.5 again if I kept using v1.7.2.4. I guess the character position is not saved correctly in some cases after the update, that's the only explanation I have as I wasn't playing for several days before the update and just after the update I spawned at coast again. At least I didn't lose my gear. :P €dit: It happened again... <_< -
They are banning you for updating to Revision 95777

Tübingen??? Excellent! In case I get banned for using a legit beta build I'll walk those 1 km down the road and kick them in the nuts. :P -
Where on the map, generally, do you end up getting killed?
cwc_shadow replied to Captain Q's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I died mostly in Cherno, when I respawned and was searching for a quick "starter kit" to get me going again. NWAF also got me killed when I visited it the 2nd time. The first loot-attempt was disappointing, as I only found useless stuff there, not the super-awesome weapons I expected. On my way back to the south I visited it again and as soon as I entered the landing strip I got headshoted... I didn't search for enemies a single time and I immediatly got punished for it, lol. :D Recently I even die a lot wandering trough the woods and other, less populated areas. Looks like I always have the luck to meet a bandit or "KoS'er" whenever I don't expect it. -
