Ban appeal from community ban list.
cwc_shadow replied to axio's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@Gogster: I submit all the hackers we find on our server to the CBL and it really does piss them off. Gives me a nice warm feeling inside to know the item spawners, teleporters, god-moders and cherno-nukers are not only banned on our server, but on hundreds more. :P -
BANNED: Suspected to be hacker
cwc_shadow replied to snaggysteam's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Global banned by BE for picking up a hacked weapon? Bad story bro. I love it when they get what they deserve and then go to the Forums to complain and act all innocent! Smells like hacker, you deserve the ban! That's Karma baby! :D -
I get global ban for nothing
cwc_shadow replied to CrackMayer's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Contact the publisher of ArmA in Germany. My friend had a similar problem. He had bought ArmA when it was released and while he was playing DayZ with me, he sometimes got the error "CD-Key already in use" after a week of playing DayZ with me, even though he didn't DL any hacks. Someone might have gotten his Key via a Key-Generator or something by coincidence and started playing with that account too! So his DayZ character often was on different positions with other gear. It was pointless to keep playing that way, so he contacted the german publisher of ArmA II and told them the problem. They gave him a new CD-Key and since then he doesn't have a problem anymore. But until he got that key, he logged in once every day in DayZ, threw away all the gear from that other hacker guy, got hit by Zombies like crazy until he was at ~2K blood and also broke his legs, then logged off again so the other guy would have a nice surprise when he logged in again. :P So OP, I wouldn't contact BattlEye as your character is in use by someone else too and even if BE would unban you, you could be banned again if the other guy hacks. If you really did not try to cheat, contact Peter Games. See the details in this thread. -
Google Community Filters scripts.txt question
cwc_shadow replied to sfmadmax (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
No idea about the first part, but the others ["_dummy"]; _dummy = [_this,"players"] execVM "\ca\ui\scripts\dedicatedServerInterface.sqf";" usually show up once the server restarted. The "openDSInterface;" is a sign that someone wanted to access the server interface when connected to the server. To avoid malicious code being inserted that way, users will be kicked when trying that. When a server is restarted. Some guys are bored waiting for the server to be fully restarted and try to play around with the buttons in the lobby and click "Server control", hence this is logged. Usually nothing to worry about if you can't see more from those guys in the logs and don't have other suspicouns. -
I can confirm this in the logs after a Heli crashed. I wouldn't ban for this alone. Usually the pilot of the crashing helicopter (and others nearby can too!) will have this logged.

DayZ community Banlisted on most scandinavien servers (detailed)
cwc_shadow replied to CDMWTF's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Bans in the CBL require logs. Granted you won't find very old cases there and I myself am too new on the CBL to know how those old bans got there, but there surely was a reason to do so. As in RL, non one is perfect and even on the CBL there might be some innocent bans. But saying the "CBL suxx and should be forbidden, because innocents are banned too!" is like saying "We don't need a justice system in RL, because innocent people might be sentenced to jail!". No matter what you do, there WILL always be hackers and cheaters in DayZ. But the CBL is a good way to set a boundary and to ensure that most servers are hacker/cheater free to some point. Without those bans, you'd find dozens of cheaters more on each server a day. Even with the banlist and filters working I find several each day trying to bypass them. Right now to get a ban considered on the CBL, logs are needed. Yes, a bad admin could fake those. But I really doubt there's a lot of guys willing to do that much effort. If someone wants to ban you, he will do so on his server, but not report it to the CBL most likely. Even if he does, tha ban might not be approved and even if it does, you can appeal for it. If a server admin doesn't want to use the CBL that's fine for me, but I certainly would not play on a server that doesn't use it. Cheating and hacking in DayZ got ridiculous and without someone trying to make the life of every legit and honest player out there at least a bit more secure this mod would soon be unplayable due to all those cheaters. I'm not saying the OP is a cheater or hacker, but to be honest, the most people on the CBL deserve to be banned. I check my logs every day and you non-Server admins would be shocked, how much hacking, cheating and scripting is going on in DayZ every day. €dit: No problem. I'll watch how your appeal goes, I'm curious myself. Old bans can't be found in the CBL databse for some reason, so I also have no idea why youa re on the list. Maybe it was a false positive. Sometimes the logs aren't 100% clear and some admins might confuse a legit action that looks suspicious for a hack. -
DayZ community Banlisted on most scandinavien servers (detailed)
cwc_shadow replied to CDMWTF's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
If you have been banned by the Community Ban List (CBL), please make a ban appeal here. First you need to search for your GUID. If you got it, search with the setting "All Issues" in the CBL for it. If you can find your ban, open that ticket and click the green "Ban-Appeal" on the left side. If you can't find a ticket, search the CBL for your GUID. If it's on it, open up a new Issue on the CBL and write "Ban appeal" as title. Then write your appeal and put in your GUID there so the Admins there can investigate the case further. If you are innocent I hope this will help you and you should be unbanned. -
What's the point in reporting hackers here in the DayZ Forum if you can't post the IP/GUID? Identifying someone by his Playername is impossible. It's just the name of the player profile and can be changed within seconds from the main menu. The only method to identify someone for sure is the GUID. If you are supposed to post hackers hre, but without the GUID, then there is no point reporting them here at all. I post all my reports over at CBL anyways. There I get more responses from other Admins so I don't accidently ban innocent players and I can also help others by providing extra evidence to already reported hackers/cheaters who I also have found in my log.
-
Such a banlist needs time. But sooner or later most of them will be banned on all srvers that use this CBL. Sure they could buy a new CD to get a new Key to hack again, but then they can also be banned again. Reporting to the CBL to get the real cheaters and hackers banned is the only thing we can do right now to make the servers halfway secure. But admins have to work together and report their cheaters & hackers there too. If everyone only keeps adding them to their own servers ban list, the problem will not resovle itself. But if most admins share their banlists via CBL, it will make the life of hackers and cheaters a lot harder. Only the community can change that. If we don't do anything, the problem will persist and get even worse. The more admins send their reprots to the CBL, the faster and the better we will be able to keep most hackers out of our servers.
-
Just check my links above. :P I'm using those filter scripts since like 48 h and it seems to work pretty well. There are still hackers online, but I can see most of the attempted hacks in the logs now and submit them to the CBL and manually add them to our banlist so they can't play on our server anymore. Sooner or later with the CBL, most hackers will be banned everywhere on the servers, that use the CBL banlist. If the aren't already BattleEye banned then. ;)
-
You only would have to open up a ticket at CBL with the same stuff you posted here and the guys there will look over them and if found guilty, the guy will be added to their large banlist. Every server admin that uses the CBL banlsit then would also have your bans on it. If everyone keeps reporting them via extra thread, admins have to dig trough hundreds of posts (just check the size of this subforum!) to add some bans. The CBL is way more effective to get the usual subpects banned on most server, not only yours. ;) I'm stupid, I frogot the link to the CBL in my post before... Here you go: http://code.google.c...ist/issues/list You can find the filters (makes your server more secure) here: http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/#git%2Ffilters And thecommunity bans.txt here: http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/#git%2Fbans BTW: I think you are german (signature and avatar), so in case you want to talk about it in german or don't understand my english up there, feel free to PM me. Grüße System

Lol, you are reporting a guy with a custom skin with a video that shows you taking hackedd stuff from a hacker??? Well, obviously if you don't spawn it yourself, everything is legit and you will not get banned for it. Wow, what a great community... Guys like you make me sick and should be banned too for knowingly using hacked equipment.
-
You should also send those in to the community ban list. A lot of admins use that banlist on their servers and it would be easier to report all the cheaters/hackers there too. Also with so many guys working on it, it's easier to identify false positives (like effect spawning) so innocent players don't get banned.

2 computers, will same character work?
cwc_shadow replied to Creation (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Works. I have ArmA II installed on two PCs - one at my home and another one (not at work though :P) as well and I can play with my character on both (but not at the same time of course). Your DayZ character is stored on the hive of DayZ and bound to your CD-Key. So if you want to be able to play the same character on another PC, you'll have to install the same ArmA II version there that you have on your other PC so they share the same CD-Key. Else it will not work. Also only moving files is not suggested, as you will miss the needed Windows-registry entries from the ArmA II installation. Without those, you can't install the needed (Beta)patches. So make sure you install your ArmA II on the other PC like you on the other one. If you play DayZ with ArmA II Free you should only need to install that on the other PC as well. -
3 Hackers in need of a Global ban
cwc_shadow replied to Yshido's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Bansa re only commited by the GUID, not the IP adress. Check out the CBL. -
Not really. The ASS-50 TWS was removed some time ago and the ammount of legit ones after all that time should be very low. Thanks to duping and exploiting though, there are hundreds, if not thousands around. No matter how you look at it, using a weapon like that, that is officially not availible gives the user a huge advantage over other players. He might not have cheated it in himself, but by using it he is not better then the regular cheater who created the weapon to get an unfair advantage over other players. IMHO players who know weapons are hacked, but still use them are part of the problem. Most players are sick of the hackers ruining their game, yet when they find a hacked weapon they will use it themselfs because they can't be banned for it. Flawed morals and logic. Just my 2 beans. In my group everyone using such stuff will be kicked out of our community and we are destroying that shit on our server whenever we find it and all camps we find them in too. As I said in another thread: the less are around, the better for the community.

New Major BattlEye Anti-Cheat Features
cwc_shadow replied to cm. (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Found this in my remoteexec.log. Hack or not? 24.08.2012 16:27:48: PLAYERNAME (IP) GUID - #0 "titleText ["Everybody stop and Dance!", "PLAIN"];" 24.08.2012 16:27:48: PLAYERNAME (IP) GUID - #13 "titleText ["Everybody stop and Dance!", "PLAIN"];" 24.08.2012 16:27:48: PLAYERNAME (IP) GUID - #0 " player playMove 'ActsPercMstpSnonWnonDnon_DancingDuoIvan'; " 24.08.2012 16:27:48: Kerr (90.213.94.238:2304) 92c2953024ff119aabf8c61885176826 - #8 " player playMove 'ActsPercMstpSnonWnonDnon_DancingDuoIvan'; " I anonymized the name, IP and GUID in case that guy is innocent. But it looks like he executed a dance script. Am I right? -
Cheat Finder (script parser for admins)
cwc_shadow replied to disorder's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@disorder: I'm using the most recent version of your program. I'll send you the saved result file via PM so you can take a look into it yourself. If you need the logs let me know. I'm not sure if the small line I psoted is a cheat. But I thought a cheater might do more than just teleport himself once. The other list I have looks pretty much like on of the filters from CBL and those guys might have exccuted a huge cheat script there. Not sure, maybe you can find out. I'll send you the files via PM. -
Cheat Finder (script parser for admins)
cwc_shadow replied to disorder's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hey guys, big thanks for disorder to make this program. I'm pretty new to ArmA II anti-cheating and the script-stuff, but we want to get rid of the hackers on our server so I thought your program might come in handy here. :) I let it check all our logs and it came up with some results. Some seem to be legit like: And then there is one huuuuuge chunk of strange stuff including (not in particular order): What's that all about? Are those cheats/hacks and are the guys mentioned above that huge list with their GUIDs the hackers? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm really new to this and would love to fight those hacking b-tards as good as possible without banning innocent people by accident. :P -
Would you Abort if in Danger of death?
cwc_shadow replied to abnormalweeny's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
- Shot a guy on open field: he passed out, then combat-logged. - Shot two guys looting tents 20 m away from me (I was looting them too!), one combat logged instantly, the other rushed me with his .50 cal., shot me, THEN combat logged. - Shot a guy at NEA, he escaped into the hangar, then combat logged. - Firefight with other clan on our Clanserver: not only did they use hacked-in weapons (AS-50 TWS), they also combat-logged like hell once they got shot at or killed so their bodies (well some of them) disappeared. Just some example from the past 7 days of DayZ. In the same time I was killed two times because I did not combat-log when things started to get ugly. Even though the others did in the same firefight. I wish serverhosting guidelines wouldn't be that strict. Then it would be easier to ban those guys from a server. Right now you need logs and proof to do it, else your server might get blacklisted. If Admins could issue bans for those guys more easily I think the problem might solve itself sooner or alter. Once those guys get banned on most servers they will wish they never logged. In the end the admins pay for the server so they should have more freedoms getting rid of unfair players that ruin the fun for others. Yes DayZ is supposed to be a huge sandbox, but right now it's a sandbox filled with kiddies, hackers and unfair players (the professional combat-loggers) a lot of the time. I wish there would be more friendly and honest players around. I meet them so rarely and DayZ would be so much more fun that way for everyone. :( -
Would you Abort if in Danger of death?
cwc_shadow replied to abnormalweeny's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I hate it when players combat-log once they get fired upon. I don't do it and prefer to die a honourful death. Especially the guys that shoot first and THEN combat-log once you fire back are real pussies. I mean, they shoot at you and if they fail to kill you they chicken out to not get shot themselfs. Yeah, that's totally how DayZ is supposed to be played. Shoot everyone but don't get shot yourself and log-off if there is a slight chance you might get killed... That's also some sort of cheating IMHO. Players like that should be banable by server admins. I don't know why this is forbidden. It's lame, it's frowned upon by the community, but yet there are no consequences to do it and server admins might get their server blacklisted for banning such players. Strange rules... There is only one situation where logging-off is acceptable: if you run into a hacker. You can't win versus a hacker so combat-logging is ok. But be careful when using "ALT+F4"! I once met a hacker who turned me into a rabbit and had ALT+F4 remapped to suicide so I respawned in debug fields! You can read that story in one of my posts (with pics). So if you have the time, use "ESC" and click "Abort" and if this option is greyed out, do NOT use ALT+F4, but ALT+TAB anbd close the ArmA II task via taskmanager. Else your character might die because the hacker had reassigned the keys to quit to suicide and you kill yourself. But in other situations (during a firefight for example), logging off is cowardice and anyone doing so should be ashamed. If you can't live with the constant threat and adrenaline in this game, they should be playing something else like CoD or BF3... So to all combat-loggers out there: stop being little wusses and die like real men (or women)! Especially if you started the whole firefight in the first place! -
Everyone is complaining about hackers and that they ruin their game experience. Yet when someone finds a hacked weapon most people tell them to "keep it!", because you can't be banned for it. By using hacked weapons you get part of the problem myself IMHO. Just because something isn't banable by BattleEye doesn't make it legit. Using hacked weapons like .50 cal. TWS gives you a definitive unfair advantage. I had a fight with another clan on my clans homeserver and we wondered how they could spot us so easily in the woods. Truned out two of their members had used the hacked AS-50 TWS... Also the scope is NOT inaccurate. It'S a goddamn sniper rifle after all. I placed headshots at 1.000+ m and bodyshots on 1.200 m easily on targets wiht the AS-50 TWS in ArmA II. DayZ has a very limited viewrange (below 1.000 m) and hitting targets with that weapon becomes totally easy with that weapon. So well, you might not get banned by using it or a G36SD or whatever else hacked weapon, but it's not in the game for a reason and I think everyone who uses that stuff while knowing it is hacked should be ashamed of himself. Hackers hack stuff in to get an advantage and to have fun on the expense of others. THis IS banable because it can be tracked by BattleEye. The only reason why using hacked weapons is NOT is that you can't tell that because nos cripts had been used picking it up. Yet those who use such stuff do it to get an advantage over others on expense of their fun too. See the similarities? My group will destroy every hacked weapon and camp we find such stuff in. The less are around, the better for the whole community.

Possible Fix for Graphical glitch in 1.7.2.5
cwc_shadow replied to epoch91's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Unfortunatly this didn't work for me (nVidia). :( Well, I guess I'll keep using the "flush" command to fix it. If you don't know what it means: Press left "Shift" key and hold it and then press Numpad "Minus", then release both keys and type "flush". You should get a "Receiving" message and the graphics in ArmA II should be reloaded. My artifacts are always fixed after 1-2 flushs. -
Is there any humanity in DayZ
cwc_shadow replied to Square Milk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm usually friendly as long as I'm not threatened. I'll only shoot in self-defense or if someone keeps pointing a huge gun at me and doesn't answer "Friendly!" messages in direct communication. But when traveling with my squad we shoot on sight for role-playing purposes. So in case you'll see me alone, I'm safe to approach if you announce "Friendly!". In case I got more guys with me, better don't and hide. ;) BUT: When I'm alone and I see someone camping Cherno/Elektro or another place with a sniper rifle, I'll shoot on sight. Chances are he either is a bandit waiting to kill other survivors or he might just shoot me out of fear if he sees me. Wouldn't be the first time... -
Helicopter despawning at each server restart?
cwc_shadow replied to capitainedesolation@yahoo.fr's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Happened to me too with a Heli and a Ural. Both had been saved and very well hidden, but disappeared after server restart. Even after another server restart they where still gone. We had tons of stuff in it and now it's gone. :(
