I don't approve the usage of hacked items like AS-50 TWS (a weapon that is not and never was legitimatly in DayZ), but that is not the issue at ahnd ehre. I think Vortech did the right thing to protect the legit and fair players on his servers by banning you rarerz. You change your story consequently. if you would really acted like you claimed, that story wouldn't change from thread to thread. In police interrogation it's common that criminals change their story because they lied and thus can't remember all the lies and will change their story after several times. Suspiciously, you did the same already in the next thread. It's also suspicious that you are trying so hard to get Vortech and the server balcklisted. Smeels like a personal vendetta for me.

US 2954 [Admin Abuse w/ Proof]
cwc_shadow replied to Opposite2u's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@Server Admin: You guys had nametags enabeld on the server. Guess how they could track you in the woods... You can even see it in the video. Opposite2u is using his mouse-wheel to enable the ArmA II interaction menu and starts scanning your guessed location until a nametag with the distance pops up. Surprise! BTW: I won't start on how unprofessional that chase, even with nametags enabled, was ( :P ). The muzzle-flash of you was clearly visible in Opposite2u's NVG so he should have known where you are. Yet he still asks his friend and starts searching for your nametag until he finds you and shoots at that nametag. You had been hidden behind bushes and he wouldn't have seen you without nametags as he had no direct field of view on you, but because you have them enabled on your server, they will be shown if a player aims at your direction and is close. He saw the nametag and started shooting at them. To stop players from abusing ArmA II mechanics to get an advantage or to stop those cheap ways of rendering camo etc. useless, I suggest you set your server with those options: Nametags [OFF], Waypoints [OFF], Crosshair [OFF], 3rd Person [ON/OFF] Explanation: - Without nametags, players can't scan the woods until a nametag pops up and shoot players, they wouldn't be able to see without nametags. - Without waypoints, players can't use that map-function to quickly get an ingame location marker and a distance to a target, rendering a compass, GPS and a rangefinder useless. DayZ get's way too arcade that way. - Without Crosshairs, players can't effectively use weapons (especialyl not .50 cal. sniper rifles) in close-combat to kill others while running/strafing them. - 3rd Person allows players to look around corners in 3rd person, even if the guy couldn't look around in 1st person view. Some players - especially casual gamers - mostly run in 3rd person and only switch to 1st during combat. They would probably stop playing on a server that only has 1st person view. So it's up to you to decide wether you want it on or off. BTW: I also find it fishy that long parts of the video are just sound with a black screen. But giving the benefit of the doubt, I couldn't detect any cheating in the rest of the video, just some game mechanic abuse that is a server admins fault if they keep that stuff enabled. What I learned in this community is this: If you leave small holes open for abuse, players will use them as there would be no tomorrow. Fair play is only happening if you force them to it! So deactivate nametags and some other stuff and you won't be tracked that fast anymore. Just my 2 :beans: . ;) -
Ich wurde in DayZ zum 3.mal Gebannt!

Short translation: OP claims to have been banned by BattlEye 3 times now for no reason. BE lifted the bans 2 tiems already but he keeps getting banned. BE doesn't tell him why he is was banned before so he doesn't know what he can do to not get banned again. @OP: Contact BattlEye again. There's nothing anyone could do in this Forum to help you as global bans are only issued by BE. -
Go to CBLs website, create a new Issues with the title "Ban appeal" there and plead your case.
-
You should submit "your" cheaters to the Community Ban List (CBL) too.
-
welp, it's time, here are some bans from the UN server
cwc_shadow replied to Khyron_UN's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
There is a bug that might let a player spawn as a seagull (bird), but it happens very rarely. Sometimes "Seagull" is used by hackers too. On our server we kick for it automatically. Legit players can then come back and spawn again normally while hackers are prevented from doing shit as a bird. ;) I suggest you use the Community Ban List filters on your server. Then such events will be logged and spawners of seagull will be kicked. -
Community Ban List appeal
cwc_shadow replied to Skippy (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
CBL won't ban for combat-logging/DC'ing, only for hacking. Yes, you are indeed on the CBL. Go to the CBL website and create a new issue with the title "Ban Appeal" and plead your case. If it was a false positive they will remove you again. Good luck. -
Lingor island is not supported by rocket and are not part of the DayZ Hive. So complaints here are pretty pointless.
-
The guy that moderates it is in the hospital right now. I hope he is well and will be back soon to take care of the issues. As your signature says: patience my comrade... ;)
-
@axioqt: CBL ban appeals should be made over at the CBL. @Gogster: Admins jsut should have contact infos in the servername. We use our clans website for that so players can go to our forum to report issues like hackers or make ban appeals there. We also have ingame messages that inform players to not use hacked stuff with a link to a list of legit DayZ items. Another message in other intervalls gives our clans homepage again. So this should be sufficient to contact us if needed. I wonder why some server admins don't include that stuff. Would make their life easier too if they could be contacted directly.

If you would have done that on our Server, I'd obviously have banned you for knowingly taking hacked stuff. ;) -
Banned From US267 By An Abusive Admin
cwc_shadow replied to BombBoyB52's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Contact the Admin and plead your case. Maybe even link him to this thread so he can see that you changed your mind on hacked stuff. Ask him for a second chance and you might get it and keep palying on his server. I give everyone a second chance who stops using hacked gear, maybe he will too. Good luck. BTW: I think the user chaveezy is the Admin on this Server according to this post. -
Banned From US267 By An Abusive Admin
cwc_shadow replied to BombBoyB52's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I could just write a post again I made like two times already, but if you really care about the arguments and proof, I'm sure you'll find it by searching my content, so I'll make this short: You can't and won't be globally banned by DayZ staff for using hacked weapons. --> True You can't be banned for knowingly using hacked weapons on a server. --> FALSE If you use a weapon that is not in game and you know it, you are cheating. I don't know how anyone could consider this not cheating. Even the Devs decided that some weapons should just not be in DayZ and removed them or never ever put them in DayZ in the first place. If you use such a weapon, you gain an advantage over the legit players and you cheat. On our clanserver we have regular warnings to not use hacked weapons and to read the list of legit weapons we even link. If someone joins with a hacked gun, we ban him for 48 h with the reason and the link to read the list. Then he knows for sure what he did wrong and that using such gear is cheating. If he is caught again we will ban that guy for 7 days and if he does it a third time, we will permaban him. If some players can't play fair, they shouldn't play DayZ. Oh and according to the server hosting rules that users of hacked weapons love to refer to, banning for cheating with evidence is possible. Someone spawning with an AS-50 TWS will be shown in the logs so Admins have that proof. I wouldn't permaban them instantly to make sure it's not just a newbie who didn't know better, but I ban someone knowingly using hacked stuff (like you!) for sure if he keeps doing it. If you have some morals, you'll see that there really is not much difference in cheating a weapon in to gain an advanatge and to knowingly use it from a hacker. To me and most other admins, it's the same and if some players don't want to listen to warnings and keep those hacked stuff, they will be removed from the server so the players who want to play fair can enjoy the game without getting headshoted from a mile away by weapons that can't even be legally found in the game. -
Nobody can force Admins to update their lsits as you can't force them to get access. It's an admins responsibility to update his banlist regularly, not only every 4 weeks. So If ear you'll have to either wait a bit, or to try contacting those admins yourself and inform them about the newer banlist.

US 1560 Battleye antihax ban (object access flooding)
cwc_shadow replied to velyse (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@Super Tuck: To find out why a player was banned for DayZ AntiHax reasons, check the DayZ AntiHax logfile. It will mention the player GUID, the reason for the ban and the timestamp and name of the logfile, where the incident occured. For example: Then you can open the createvehicle.log and search for that timestamp & GUID to find: To find out if it was "hinky", use common sense. Someone throwing 400 grenades is a hacker. Someone spawning with 4 identical backpacks is not necessarily and it could be related to connection problems. We had that case recently and if you only find that you shouldn't ban for it, just get suspicious and keep investigating. I hope this helps you. -
Server DE 2677 - Admin Ban Appeal
cwc_shadow replied to paddy1223's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Probably the crashed Heli effect triggered the AntiHax ban. We had it on our server too and had to remove it from the AntiHax detection so innocent players don't get banned. Oftne the pilot of the crashed chopper will have that effect logged in the remtoeexec.log and if AntiHax finds it, it will ban the pilot. So a false positive in most cases. -
My friend and I were banned from US 3040 wrongfully
cwc_shadow replied to cbarnes1's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Funny how rockets words always get used to support the usage of hacked weapons. But to be fair, someone asked if they would be [globally] banned [by DayZ Staff] for using hacked items. Rockets answer was no, but they would closely watch such accounts as they are suspicious for being hackers. So no one at this point gets globally banned for using hacked weapons by DayZ Staff. But there's always a "but". Let's take this to the level were it get's interesting, the server-hosting rules. I marked the important part here. Basically server admins can ban players for using hacked stuff, because that can be considered cheating. How can some members of this communtiy actually think hacking stuff in is cheating and bad, but using that stuff is not??? Seriously, I want one solid explanation on why using hacked-in equipment is not considered cheating and against the server hosting rules? DayZ staff removed the M107 TWS from the game because it was totally overpowered. The AS-50 TWS never was in the game and always hacked. When the M107 TWS got removed, there had been less than a dozens of legit ones around according to a staff members post. The chance for one of those still being around (and not just a dupe or ahcked version) is around zero after such a long time. So again, please explain to me why using a weapon that was removed by staff for being overpowered and now can only be obtained from hackers is not cheating? Oh yes, because in a Zombie-Apocalypse you wouldn't fair play. Is that your argument? If and when we have a ZA, use whatever you get, I don't care, but as long as DayZ is a game you also have to follow certain rules of fairness and not ruin the fun of everyone else. Server admins have access to the logs were you can see who spawned with which equipment and what stuff was created ingame. That's solid proof according to the server hosting rules and you can get banend according to that. That's not a global ban, but a server ban. So don't say you can't get banned for it. You can't globally in DayZ by the staff, but keep cheating on servers and sooner or later you will be banned on most of them. A lot of members of the DayZ community have double-standards here. If you can do stuff that profits you - do it! But god forbid someone does it too! Then he should be banned or their server blacklisted. You can see that attitude every day here. Server admins banning exploiters, hackers and cheaters and the banned guys complain about admins not following rules ("abusive admins"). Those server admins are at least trying to be part of the solution of the hacking and cheating in DayZ whilest you guys (those who use such hacked weapons) are just part of the problem! As a community, we all should work together to solve the hacking problem. A first step every user can do is to not use those weapons and items, but to destroy them whenever he finds them! If someone can't follow the most basic rules of fair play, honesty and common sense, he shouldn't go to the forum to QQ and complain about others. Really. On our clan server it works like this: Upon joining you get a link to our forum where you can find a huge list of legit items in DayZ sorted by class. So everyone knows or at least has the chance to inform himself about it. If they don't, they might have to live with the consequences. I will ban every user of hacked stuff on our clans server for 48 h. They can consider this as a warning ban with the reason and a link to the "legit weapon list". Then they know the reason for 100%. If they join again with hacked stuff or obtain it while on the server and keep it for a longer time, they will be banned for a week. If they violate the rules of fair play again the third ban is permanent. We don't want hackers, cheaters and exploiters on our server. If you don't want to play fair, join another server or just stop playing DayZ (would be the best option BTW). This is an online MP game and everyone has the same right to enjoy it and have fun. Just because your fun got spoiled at some point by someone hacking stuff in or using hacked stuff against you doesn't allow you to do the same! Just my two :beans: . -

Banned From 303 Dallas - Server Admin Abuse
cwc_shadow replied to d00m's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Someone knowingly using a hacked weapon can be considered cheating by the server rules. How can someone think using a .50 cal. AS-50 TWS that can snipe people over a mile away is NOT an unfair advantage? Please, explain that to me! Before you now try to weasel out by saying "But you can't ban people for using hacked stuff because they didn't hack them in themselfs! Even rocket said that!". That's not what rocket answered to. The original question regarded a DayZ (global) ban and rocket said that he won't ban for using hacked stuff, but closely monitor those accounts for hacking activities in the hive. So yes, you won't get globally banned in DayZ for using hacked equipment, BUT: As long as the server rules have this paragraph, server admins might indeed ban you for using hacked weapons, even though you did not hack them in yourself! If I find someone in the logs using such stuff, he will get a "warning-ban" so he knows what he did wrong. On our server we have a message of the day (MOTD) informing players about hacked weapons etc. and also a link to our forum where they can check a huge list of legit items in DayZ. If someone is catched using an illegal weapon they will be banned for 48 h. If he does it again he'll be banned for 7 days. If he keeps using hacked stuff the 3rd violation will be a perma ban on our server. That way every legit player on the server can enjoy the game. Don't use hacked/cheated weapons that give unfair advanatges (in other communites/games, this is called CHEATING) and then come to the forum and complain about rules being broken. If you can't play fair yourself, don't complain about others. -

admin baned form most of the servers???
cwc_shadow replied to BloodSuckinWORM's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You are on the community ban list (CBL): GUID -1 W 4d9b2182 0x0f44d938 That's how bans on the CBL can look. You need to appeal to them. Open an issue here with the topic "Ban Appeal", provide your GUID and plead your case. Then they'll look into the logs/proof that was used to ban you and decide if it might have been a mistake/false positive or not. -
Theory on a way to detect bypass users! Please comment.
cwc_shadow replied to (OCN)Vortech's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Any news on this? We have had some teleport and godmode hackers lately on our server. Yet I can't find any of them in the logs, even though I have screenshots from them playing (ingame server client list). I'd love to have a way to identify those BE bypassers and ban them without banning innocent players who only suffer from connection issues. -
After you found a replacement, kill a Zombie, put the hacked gun on his body and then hide it. That way it will be gone and no other guy will be tempted to take it. The less of them are around, the better for the community.

First off: the AS-50 was NEVER legit in DayZ, no matter how often this is repeated, it's not true. There was a M107 TWS in DayZ with a veeery rare spawn chance, but it was removed very fast again because it was considered to be unfair. The chance of legit M107 TWS still being around is ultra-low, as the number of legit ones was around <10 back then according to a staff post. The AS-50 TWS was never legitimatly in DayZ and claiming it was, simply is not true. It was always hacked. From my point of view, using hacked in equipment is cheating, as it offers an advantage the legit players don't have. Especially the AS-50 TWS is very unfair, as you can headshot people a mile away that won't even see you. How is that NOT unfair? Because veryone can use a AS-50 TWS? Oh well, with that logic hacking is not unfair as everyone can get those scripts as well if he wants to. Either you are for or against hacking/cheating. If you re against it, you might as well start playing legit yourself first before you rage about the hackers. Rocket said you won't be banned by DayZ for using hacked equipment. But a server admin might as well ban you for having it. Saying "Just use it, 'everyone' does, so join the club!" is bullshit IMHO. There are tons of hackers out there, shall we join their club too? Shouldn't we all fight the unfairness, hacking and cheating in this game together? I never used hacked equipment and I will destroy it whenever I find it. And I support all server admins who ban for having non legit weapons in DayZ. The argument "But I didn't know it's not legit!" is no excuse. It's not in RL justice and it's not in my books. But I'd still offer a warning on a server with a link to a legit weapon list. If players then still use non legit weapons because they are too lazy to check, it's their fault. This game is so full of cheaters already, there is really no need to join the club just because others can't play fair themselfs. Banning those cheaters on a server is a good thing to do. Then at least all the legit players on that server can try to enjoy the game. BTW: Here are the server rules. Unless this paragraph is altered, server admins do indeed have the right to ban cheaters who use hacked in weapons if they have proof they used it (and the logs are proof). TL;DR: Using hacked equipment might not get you a global ban in DayZ (and that's what Rocket answered!), but a server admin can indeed ban you according to the above paragraph for using it!
