A pretty new ban on the CBL, maybe 4-5 weeks old so not "grandfathered in". Those new bans only are issued over several reports from different server admins with solid evidence. The new bans are hardly mistakes. Go to the CBL, create a new Issue named "Ban Appeal - YOUR NAME" and plead your case providing your GUID or the full entry from the banlist you already wrote in your post.

I can't find that server. You should check full servername. Usually it mentions the owner of the server (a clan or even the homepage) at the end. Then try to get in touch with the admin there or hope he finds this thread (which I wouldn't count on). If possible, it's better to settle it directly with the admin if you can get in touch with him.

Banned from US 3370 - Hosted by Katet Clan
cwc_shadow replied to Deadchicken (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@xxblink: If you are not used to that, it indeed looks fishy. But once you check the timestamps, you see that they most likely took the stuff from tents. Real cheaters/scripters spawn those stuff so fast (within seconds), but in this case there are often minutes between entries. In such cases I wouldn't ban for it so innocent players don't get punished. A hacker looks more like this. That guy was reported to have spamed explosions. When checking the logs, I found out he spawned hundreds of hand grenades within seconds. No way a legit player can carry so many of those. If it would have been 20 grenades in like ~5 minutes, it would be possible he found a bunch in a tent and threw them away to troll the tent owner, but in this case he threw them faster than the animation in ArmA II allows. Sometimes 2-3 grenades per second. -
If you PM me your GUID, I can try to check the CBL for an entry of it. Of curse you could contact the server admin and ask him why exactly you have been banned. That might give more helpful infos.
-
@Rush Crush: Did you even read that part carefully? Bolded by me. If admin has proof (the logs where someone used a cheated weapon) he can ban them. Else the "unless" would be pointless and Admins wouldn't have a right to ban ANYONE.
-
Just enter your GUID in the same searchfield where you entered your name in.
-
There's only one guy with full access and he is in the hospital since a few weeks. I have no idea when he'll be back and until then, no ban appeals or submitted bans can be processed.

Yeah, would be my guess too. Some admins might think this is done by a cheater, but some players jsut gather tons of that stuff and then use it at once making them look suspicious. If that's the only suspicious in the logs, you shouldn't have been banned. Try to contact the admin, explain the situation and maybe even link him to this thread. €dit: In the logs (createvehicle.log) barbed wire looks like this: If an admin sees something like this: He might think that the stuff was spawned by a hacked and ban the player. Especially in these days some admins are hyper-sensitive, even though some stuff can be totally elgit (like the above example). -

Wire = Barbed wire. Maybe the admin mistook a line in the logs that you have been using barbed wire as an entry that you spawned/hacked it. -
Did I deserve the Global Ban?
cwc_shadow replied to jasonchaser@live.co.uk's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
A player cheats/hacks: Check! Said player get's globally banned by BattlEye: Check! Working as intended! It doesn't matter for what reasons a hack is used. If we would make differences between "good" and "bad" hacking I guess everyone could come up with a story to back up his "legit" hacking. As a matter of fact, hacking/cheating in a multiplayer game where it affects other players is always bad. A lot of the scripters out there are none of the hardcore ahckers. Thy are just a bunch of guys getting killed too many times and now seek an easy way to play the game. The moment someone cheats, the same moment he deserves the ban. There is no good or bad ahcking, only hacking. -
I'm astonished about the ammount of guys not able to see this:

Better find you GUID by typing: #beclient guid in the lobby of any BE enabeld server. Wait for BE to finish updating, loading and verifying your GUID in the lobby. If you couldn't catch the GUID after BE showed your GUID, you can sue the above command to show it again. Then search the CBL (Community Ban List) for your GUID. Make sure you select "All Issues" before searching! Also cehck the CBL bans.txt file fro your entry. If youa re in there, make an appeal in the "Issues" secion. Name it "Ban Appeal - YOUR NAME" and give your GUID and an explanation of your case in there so the responsible guy cna take a look into the evidence again. But that may take some time as the responsible guy is in hospital since a few weeks.

Wrong Forum... This is the "Ban Appeal" forum. You should report cheating and scripting in the "Cheat Report" section. Also if you wanted to make a report for CBL, this infos are not enough. Logfiles and the GUID of the players are needed to verify (and ban if enough evidence was collected) their accounts. You should reprot those guys to the server admin so he can check the logfiles and report those guys to the CBL if he finds evidence.

Nicely said AADiC. Until now, no one could answer a question I wrote over a week ago: The only answer I got until now was: "Rocket said you wouldn't be banned for using them!" Which does not translate to "Use it, because no Admin can ban you for it!". For the reasons, read this post with the explanations and the background of the original question which was related to a global DayZ ban. BTW: A lot of server admins kick/ban for possesing hacked items. I don't know any case, in which a server was blacklisted for that reason. If players are warned that this is considered cheating and against the server hosting rules and they keep the weapon and join the server anyways, they know the weapon are not legit and they decided to cheat. Then they can get kicked/banned as long as the server hosting rules are the way they are now.

You should contact the admin for the details and talk to him over this. Maybe even link to this thread.

BattlEye: GameHack #38 (solved)
cwc_shadow replied to xxkaimanxx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
A ban looking like #1b34 or something like this is a global BattlEye ban. Contact BattlEye with the link Nik gave you. -
I can guess what happened... Some program stole your CD-Key and it's banned now. You might have watched a YouTube video with a link to a hack that was in fact a CD-Key stealer. Or you downlaode dan ifnected "Utes" map that also had that kind of stealer in it. Falls ichs dir lieber in deutsch schreiben soll, sag bescheid. BTW: Bei global bans kann dir hier keiner helfen, da nur BattlEye diese wieder entfernen kann. Lies dir diese Infos durch und folge den Anweisungen, um den Ban evtl. entfernen zu lassen.

I replied to your thread. You used the "Submit a Ban" template for Admins, that's why there are some texts in it, that don't make sense for an appeal. I will explain them a bit: GUID: That's your unique ID used by BattlEye. It is generated by the CD-Key and bans are issued on a certain GUID (not IP or something like that). Log excerpts: Totally not needed for an appeal. The tempalte you used to psot the issue over at CBL was the "Submit a Ban" one. Admins usually post the required log excerp in this category. The evidence of someone cheating so to say. Anyways, just post your GUID int he appeal. Unfortunatly the "owner" of CBL is in the hospital since a while and he'S the omnly one with fulla ccess to the database. Until he'S back, no one can add new bans or remove old ones from the CBL. That'S also the reason there are already nearly 1.500 issues in the waiting line.

AS-50 is not hacked, only the AS-50 TWS (with thermal sight) is. In theory it might (?) be possible to survive a shot of it, as the max damage is only dealt by a body hit. A hit on a outer hitbox (limbs) with the low-damage ammo might not deal the full damage, but should be enough to insta-kill anyways. I haven't witnessed any case that someone ever survived a .50 cal. body shot in DayZ and survived and even if you did, it should deal a shitload of damage and give you a shock or even a blackout. The only case I ever saw someone surviving a .50 cal. hit had been 2 combat loggers, who were double-tapped in the head by a friend and then disappeared (not dead of course...) to reappear 10 mins later and shoot me (again) from a different position after they logged back in.

HOWTO: Use publicvariableval.txt to auto-kick players with hacked weapons
cwc_shadow replied to venthos's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@RS-DolpH: Check out Mr. Magotchi's post on page 1. If you include his batch-command, it should add the logging of those lines again for the CBL files. ;) -
DayZ DIAF - A custom DayZ Mod I'm working on. Input appreciated!
cwc_shadow replied to venthos's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Love the idea! But I think it's sad to remove the snipers completly. Maybe just changing the western weapons to some russian version could already do the trick and remove the mass of snipers from the game. If there are only the CZ-550 and the Dragunov around it should be sufficient. Maybe you could also add more russian weapons (like different AK variants ---> AK with 4x PSO) from ArmA II to it? The game takes place in Chernarus, yet a lot of weapons are from NATO/western countries. I think the feeling of DayZ would be much more "realistic" if you'd find more shotguns and "old" rifles like the Enfield than high-tech military gear like the .50 cal. rifles or M16 variants. Right now it seems 50% of the population of Chernarus had been armed to the teeth with assault rifles and sniper rifles. The firefights would get much more intense with non-high-tech guns like shotguns or hunting rifles. It's much more likely to find those weapons in civilian homes than high-tech military gear. ;) -
Oh, another guilty scripter who now feels innocent and wants to punish the server admins. Classy. Good catch Vortech, I lol'ed. :P
-
I don't think Vortech can do that. ;) Strange, now I find your GUID in the banlist. Last time I searched the banlist I couldn't find it. Maybe copy/paste error on my part. To speed up the appeal, create a new issue named "Ban Appeal". Post your GUID there and explain the situation. You can also provide a link to this thread. That way Jens can find the appeal quicker and handle it faster. Now your issue looks like a regular ban submit ("Submit a Ban"). Don't worry, grandfathered-in bans have always been removed AFAIK. But you might still need patience as Jens, the guy who can unban you, is still not availible. Good luck.

Is this a ban appeal or a server report? Sounds more like a server report and then this would be the wrong subforum for it. I share HeavyBobs opinion as I can udnertsand both, server admins - which I am myself - and players who get cheated on. If this case is true though, I fail to see the reason for the ban. Sounds more like it was related to the "I'Ll loot your camp" part than to the backpack. No way someone can check the logs within seconds to find such an entry. Looting stuff and getting robbed is part of this games experience. No one should be banned for doing that if it's the only "bad" thing he does (= not hacking). If that admin banned you, he better have a better reason than "OMG he wants to tobb our tents!!11!".
