What's your 3d and interface resolution? That plays a big role, even if you have everything else on ultra.

I got the i5-3570k, with the gtx 670, and 8gb of ram.

No, that's the 690. 670 is a single card.

My 3d and Interface Resolution is at 1920x1080, which is my native resolution. I think I should be getting higher with the 670.

the i5-3570k is plenty... the i7 doesn't add on anything to games, its hyper threading is made for editing and such

How do I get better fps with my gtx 670? It is really bothering me to see people with lower end gpu's get higher frame rates than me...

So I'm new to DayZ, and after finding a akm in the school house in elektro i got sniped. Luckily, I spawned back near elektro and managed to recover my weapon. After taking fire from the sniper again, I decided to bail it to the fire station. I ran, sniper shot at me and missed, and i made it. However, after a few minutes in the fire station tower thinking about my next move, i see an explosion in the middle of elektro. It's pretty big, and a whole building collapses. Suddenly, I get a broken leg. FUCK! But I think its managable, I do have morphine. However I die a few seconds later. This explosion was about next to the school house, and I mean the fire station ISNT that close. However, I lost my good items, and now I am pissed off. Did a hacker do this, bring a massive explosion to knock out a building in elektro? Or is there some weapon I don't know about?

I wasn't standing up looking out of the window if you mean that, no. I was prone, hiding in the corner. I used third person to get an angle so I could see what was happening. Sure, maybe a satchel charge. Let the blast break my bones. But does it really need to kill me? Calculate the distance between the fire station and the school, then add another 200m to the distance. That's how far the explosion was.

No, there was no way. I was in the corner, away from the window, watching through the window with third person. Even the sniper who tried getting me couldn't hit me. Yes satchel charges can take out a building, but how does it kill me?

But when you install dayz, everytime you run OA, you only get DayZ right?

Yeah same problem here, I want to be able to Play Arma II, which I can, Arma II OA, which I can't, and DayZ, which I can. I want to be able to play all three, yet whenever I run OA all I get is the DayZ screen.

So, I recently ordered a new Gaming PC, and it should be arriving in two weeks time. However, recently it was announced that DayZ would be a standalone game. Now, I realize that we might have to buy DayZ AGAIN to continue playing, as it is separating itself from Arma II. So, what do you guys think? Also with the hacker issue I hear is making some servers unplayable. Should I buy Arma 2 (I am also interested in Arma II, but id rather wait for Arma III for the sake of saving money) and play DayZ? Or wait for it to release by itself, whenever that may be?

Sounds tempting.... I'll have to pass :) Anyways, I did read somewhere they are adopting the Minecraft release model. I think they bought the Arma II engine, so it shouldn't take that long. Also, I think rocket stated before christmas... I'll decide eventually I guess

Thinking about what computer I would need to run ArmaII, and more specifically, DayZ. Will buy one soon, but money is obviously an issue. What are some of your system specs, and what framerate does it achieve? Looking mainly at what your CPU and GPU is, any other details could also be helpful. Thanks!

If anybody can help, I have a budget of about $1500 for the pc. I would prefer Intel CPU and a GTX gpu but if anybody has any other suggestions, everything would help.
