the amout of hackers has increased everyday since i have been renting my server. If server owners were able to password protect their servers, the hackers wouldnt be ruining the game for us. (but abusive, private server, farming clans will destroy the game? a noob makarov is capable of killing you regardless of how good your gear is.) i have had to resort to shutting the server down and banning everyone that was logged in when the hack incidents happen. To limit the number of potential hackers, i have also reduced the maxping from 250 to 175. ( "shotgun" troubleshooting, i also made a thread in the ban appeals secton) Earlier today... Cherno was on fire and a helicopter was parked on top of the international hotel. Hackers teleporting to people and shooting them point blank with an m107. These hackers are destroying the game. ROCKET, you took away pistols from fresh spawns as an experiment. Next experiment: ALLOW SERVER ADMINS TO PASSWORD PROTECT THIER SERVERS WITHOUT BEING BLACKLISTED. allow this for a week. (looks like all the haters didnt read this part of the post.) To all the people who don't own/rent a server and are going to QQ about "unfair advantage": i would gladly give the server password to people that don't hack or possibly DONATE to the monthly server fund. I would invite groups of friends and clans to play on my secure server. There will be no unfair advantage. There will be no random hackers. (this has been blown WAY out of context. i have pleanty of cash to pay for the server and would pay extra to lock my server. Somebody that would donate to a server fund would be less likely to Hack since it would be a safe and secure place to play. please blow this out of context more.) if you still disagree about allowing password protected servers... move along... just go back to server hopping NWAF barracks and sniping noobs in Chern. i was just looking at my servers player list in BERCon (command: players) and the GUID's are not showing up. can anyone else confirm this? thanks.

this could be a serious issue. server admins please check your servers.

As of right now, my service ends on August 4th. After what has happen this past week, i don't think i will consider paying for another month of sub par service. The damage was done. for the customers that stick with you... you should credit them with a free week. Good luck.

you should contact the hosting companies in addition to making posts like this. HFBServers has not provided updates for the past week. Have been stuck with 95054 with no option to upgrade. clients upgrading to the NEWEST patch will have a very limited number of servers they can use. **EDIT** disable from the hive if we can't update our servers by tomorrow?!?! seriously? i understand that you want server admins to update their servers.... but ALOT of us cant. you might want to rethink your actions and talk to all the hosting companies.

admins have no power. hackers have it all.

i canceled my service with HFB last week actually. my server will remain up till the 4th.

do you even rent a server with HFB?

downgrade to 95054. there are tons of servers.

most servers cant update to keep up with the new client patches. ask anyone renting from HFB.

i would update if i could. HFB isn't providing the updates for non dedicated servers :(

so, idk if i need to run BEC on my computer like i run RCON.... or do i install it to the actual server i am renting??

correct. i was thinking there might be something in the logs between the time the user joins the server lobby and when the user actually connects to the game world. another question for you Vaquxine: can we use Battleye Extended Controls to help manage our DayZ servers? a private blacklisted server sounds great. as long as i can still update with current patches and remain isolated from the Hive. i don't know if HFB Servers will allow me to run a blacklisted server though :( going to do more research and ask HFB.

have you noticed more potential hackers being kicked after updating your 'scripts.txt' file? i think it should show up in RCON. i have had similar problems with my server and havent turned it back on since i updating my 'scripts.txt' file.

is there a way to tell if somebody is bypassing battleye? or a way to kick somebody for attempting to bypass?
