"Lost" Alice

If it's any consolation, I commend you for not Alt-F4'ing out of there. they were being total dicks, and even though I never Alt-F4, I would not have stuck around for that.

I thought long and hard about the situation once my friends became bandits, as a medic I try not to discriminate against any patients, and in the apocalypse, if these fellas are all I have, and they protect me, why would I abandon them? even if their views on survival are much different from mine. they've gotten me out of more than one scrape, even involving me being defenseless against enemies that have snipers and thermal vision. so I owe them a lot. Plus, it generates the MOST INTERESTING STORIES! with me being the ultimate carebear, and them being bandits.

I choose not to kill people, but generally the clan-mates I travel with will kill on sight. For the most part this works out well. I'm a carebear medic and I take care of them, and in turn, they protect me. I don't really like it when they kill people, but I've come to accept shoot-on-sight as a means for survival with the current state of Day Z. It was dusk, and I had been late catching up with my friends to loot a church, by the time I got there, they had already moved on without me without my knowledge. I saw what I *thought* was one of my friends in a church pew (everybody kind of looks the same). I was actually standing next to him for several moments looking over my map, when a voice I did NOT recognize says “Wassap Niggah!?” I close out of my map and look wide eyed at this guy to suddenly realize he did not have a high power firearm in his hands, or an ALICE pack on his shoulders. He had nothing at all!! The poor guy was waving a flashlight around greeting me happily. For a brief moment my heart ached, he reminded me of me when I first started this game, friendly and naive. He had safely assumed I was friendly because I had not yet shot him, but my friends would NOT be so kind. “Wait, I don’t know you” I say to him immediately starting to panic for his safety. ”Who are you talking to Alice?” Asks somebody on TeamSpeak. I turn to the newbie and yell into direct chat ”RUN! YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE! MY FRIENDS LIKE TO KILL PEOPLE” “SHE’S TELLING HIM TO RUN GO BACK TO THE CHURCH” yells my team leader. The newbie wastes precious seconds panicking and running around in circles in the pew before trying to exit the door, I follow him only to see ALL THREE of my clan mates casting shadows across the church entrance, pointing their massive weapons right at this poor guy… with me behind him. I sprinted to the side, a bullet barely missing me as they put craters into him. I don’t know why I even bother, they never get out in time. T.T [Note: recently edited for more detail and clarity]

Yea, three of us got taken out by a ghoster near stary this morning, he shot anders in the head first, and then when we were keeping a sharp eye out, he suddenly appeared behind us and wasted us (he was a TERRIBLE shot, so I could see why he had to resort to ghosting). When Tim went down in front of me, I considered logging to save my life from the ghoster, but I decided not to. Goodbye all my medical supplies :( I don't mind dying, this game is cruel and I've accepted that, but dying to complete bullshit is extremely frustrating.

Rocket's goal with the Day Z mod was to have players experience real human emotions during a video game. When I first got hardcore betrayed by dudes I was adventuring with for the better half of that afternoon; I literally sat at my computer staring at the YOU ARE DEAD screen for like five minutes so hurt, and shocked and heartbroken thinking "WHY!? FOR MY SHOTGUN!? WHAT DID I DO TO YOU!? WE SHARED BEANS FOR FUCKSAKES" I felt so stupid for having such an emotional response to something in a video game, until the guy who shot me messaged me and said sorry. They never meant to shoot me, but I had accidentally gotten in the way of them killing this OTHER dude and they felt awful. And when I browsed the forums more and realized that it was Rocket's intention all along, I felt a little less silly. But I really enjoyed your post joshtheacer :) thank you so much for sharing

I love scouting areas and getting supplies, I just got killed by a bandit and lost all my supplies, but I'll scout around more after I eat dinner, and bring something worthy to the camp if you'll have me.

Rayquan and Roggle. Why feed me and teach me, just to end up shooting me? :-\ If you were going to kill me, you could have at least done it before we waited like two hours for that guy with the sniper you were going to kill anyway, and not wasted my time.

I've been collecting medical supplies to help random friendlies I come across, and I love this idea! All the medics of Day Z want the same thing, a survivor hospital! and It would be much easier to try and establish it in this setting than in the middle of the woods!!

- - - -Hi fellow survivors! I'm Alice! Also known as Alice, the one who cannot read maps. and I think I'm lost. But other than trying to find my way, I'm on the hunt for Medical supplies!! You see, I want to eventually establish a safe hospital for surviors just like you! Well, heh, it won't be much like a real hospital, but we work with what we have. So if you see me lost in the woods somewhere and want to trade, or just want to donate to a good cause, anything you can spare, even a single bandage can save a life! I take the supplies that I find/are donated and help any friendly survivors in-need that I come across, and store them away for rainy days when survivors get sick from elements. Please be advised, I'm heavily armed and don't take attempts at banditry lightly. But other than having to get rough with ruffians, lets try to make the apocalypse a better place! ... well as much as it can be! ^^; ~<3 Alice PS: I'm still currently looking for a server to call my home! If you know of a place that has survivors like me, or a place that desperately needs more survivors like me, please send me a PM! :D
