    On the Coast
  1. I was outside Berezino, logged out, logged in later and spawned dead. I logged in to a new server and spawned on the coast (so obviously something was up), still at Day 56, but with all my gear gone. I still had my ghillie suit on as well. Is there anything anybody can do, or am I shit out of luck? It's kind of a bummer to lose 2 months of gear and game time.

    Backpack eats primary weapons

I've had this happen. The best advice I got in regards to moving weapons was "always pull out." After I remembered that, it stopped eating my gear.

    DayZ Stories

Running with two friends tonight, we found ourselves hitting the hospital in Berezino, then both supermarkets and finally the apartments on the northwest side of town. Then we heard a shot and froze in the building. Then we heard drinking. We sat in the building for at least 10 minutes, waiting, looking, and hoping somebody would walk in or by. I was equipped with a DMR, watching the market, one had a Bizon SD, the other a crossbow and sidearm, both watching the stairs and NW side of the building. Then, we saw him move. We heard another soda crack open. Several minutes later, a third. We were convinced he was trying to bait us out... Then he made his mistake and showed his feet while moving around. He was prone, watching the exit from the NW corner of the building. I went up to the roof, over to the NE corner and peeked over the edge. He was looking toward the door, oblivious to me. Three DMR rounds and some zombie clean-up later, I was helping myself to his ALICE pack and gear. Thanks, Aggressor!

I hit Devil's Castle for the first time. I had a friend with me. I'd like to thank whoever it was that left four completely stocked tents, including morphine, DMR mags, food (we ate it all), a revolver, grenades, smoke, and a bunch of other stuff we didn't have room for. Oh, and a Czech backpack. And a car. That we drove north, ditched in the woods, and shot the tires. So thanks :)
  5. The chance of getting shot in the face has completely shaped how I play the game. Generally, I don't go near big cities unless I'm playing with a friend or two. I stick to wooded areas and low population or remote areas. This is pretty much what you'd have to do in a "real" zombie situation. You need somebody you trust watching your back. Sorry, person I just walked up to and have never met before, but I've got to shoot you in the face and take your gear before you shoot me in the face and take *my* gear. No hard feelings. Personally, I'd rather avoid the situation altogether and keep to myself. I kill zombie, you stay away from me, I stay away from you. Unless you get in range of my DMR. If you want to play with people you trust, get friends to play or join a clan/guild/whateverthekidsarecallingittoday. Doing something to change this part of the game, to me, would ruin it. There shouldn't be a penalty for doing what it takes to "win" DayZ: Surviving.
