My main gripe with the removal of ammo refill

It might be nice to see an inventory option to combine partial magazines (legitimately, not like pistol exploits) to reclaim inventory slots, instead of throwing away bullets like I get to do presently. -

I was relieved that this thread was not petitioning for a leveling rpg system to be added to the game. Instead I think you have accurately depicted the reason that a sandbox like this does not need that sort of game mechanic. A players lack of imagination is their main reason for boredom. Interesting how some "readers" have missed this and assumed that you are indeed asking for leveling...

Server us 195 about 12:50 cst I was interacting with my tent and saw a body move in on my right. At first I thought it was someone from my group messing with me because as far as I knew no one was close to my location. I could see direct chat and communication typed indicating this was jason, zombie skinned player wearing camo. He was apparently trying out the comm system because I could very faintly hear a spooky nursery rhyme over voice and he kept asking if I could hear anything. Point blank 30 shot stanag clip to the face did nothing. Not sure if he teleported to my location as well, but I was hoping that these would be picked up on with the new BE update and global banning fest I recently read about. I guess I will return to being optimistic for the stand alone and expect more of this in the meantime from the mod. update: logged back in 1:40 cst checked the tent everything was there, took a few steps, and everyone on the server was killed.

I have a tent that continually eats my gear, but I never though it might be infected. I would try to feed it some antibiotics but I am afraid to stick my hand in there now...

Odd that those are details you like about the game, but try not to get too attached to them as so much is subject to change. The beach should still be the same so at least you are cool there. See you there soon...

Wait since when are hackers people? People play games for enjoyment, a hackers inability to attain this same enjoyment from a game drives them to cheat and exploit to find their enjoyment at the expense of others. If five hundred thousand global bans showed just how rampant hacking is within the dayz community, I don't think the remaining half of the population would shed a tear. -

Interesting idea for authenticity, but only until some find a loop hole to give them the same silent advantage they have now over an even more handicapped player base not using the same loophole. -

Not quit the teleporting I expected to read about based on the thread title, but still good to hear you made the most of it. Sounds like your infection might be from zombie attack as opposed to low temperature. Either way good luck finding antibiotics.

That is one serious cold, bleeding down to half you max health and all. Seriously though I was flashing on the temp icon recently but got a heatpack before the coughing kicked in. It was scary enough to remind me of the first time I played, logged in to dark night, took forever to figure out flashlight, got lost in woods, then started coughing after a while. That life did not end well. It has been a while since I have been randomly infected by zombie hit, but as far as I know both methods of infection are still in game, even after the removal of the debug temperature info.

Alt +f4 = character death, abort to lobby with timer, and death dodging is solved. Yes hackers suck, hackers will always suck, and I am not trying to say that will ever change. I am less worried about a hacker spoiling my fun in an alpha than I am about the culture of this games' community that reflex logs whenever fired upon, without penalty. Once this project reaches stand alone (and the open scripting of this mod that makes hacking so easy is removed or secured), I feel that all this scripting and hacking we see presently will be by and large a thing of the past. I am just hoping the playing styles being developed now do not carry over to the stand alone. Perhaps I am just being naive and the ability to stop the progression of time and teleport interdimesionally should be a part of the game. -
Most of these are reasonable enough, but not sure if their addition to the game is entirely necessary. I see a crow bar there on the ground but I am not going waste my time picking it up. The hatchet is another story, but I would rather lose zombie aggro with trees or buildings, break line of sight and crawl away than mess with a crowbar in self defense. My point being that yes it would be cool to use the hunting knife as weapon, but where do you think the damage will be with it. If I could reliable creep up on a zombie and back stab for a one shot kill, sign me up. However if the damage scales more in line with the crowbar, sorry not interested. Basically the point I am trying to make is that there are options to solve in game problems and while the exclusion of every imaginable option might be realism breaking, said exclusion is not game breaking. Still it is a bite in the ass to run past a well, fountain, pond etc. and not be able to drink straight from the source.

I'd like to see vehicle possession added to DayZ

Hot wire much? If you found a working or repairable car in the zombie apocalypse why do you think it would come with keys? Sorry, but losing your gear and struggling to regain it is part of the game. Give in and stop petitioning to change that, and you will enjoy the game more in the end. -

Sorry but 50+ vehicles would be ridiculous. Unless you are looking for a demolition derby simulator? Get used to walking around a very large map or find out where the groups on your server are stashing all the vehicles. Finding them is not nearly as difficult as holding on to them. -
Server hopping for loot (not accusing you op but in a nutshell this is the practice you are describing) may be frowned upon, but until characters and/or items are bound to server it will not stop. Might also help with the death dodging as well.

Yes there are indeed maps in game, you can look online at dayzdb.com or the dayzwiki.com for a compilation of items found in game if you are concerned about whether an item is legit or not. Quite a few people also post here to see if an item or weapon is ok, but it mostly seems to be to confirm that they will not be banned for using an item they already know is illegal.

Which "I am Legend"? I am assuming you reference the film, because in the book trusting that lone survivor does not work out so well... While I would like to see a wider variety of skins in the game I think moving away from label skins such as bandit and survivor was a wise decision. -
Trading system, changes to the thirst and hunger meters, fixing the chat system, and changing the spawn system.

Some interesting suggestions, I would personally like to see some modification to multiplayer gear interactions. The group I usually work with swap items through backpacks to avoid losing anything in grass, terrain, or just having items settle below a plane that is inaccessible. It works for the most part but I cannot keep items from being removed in this manner by my comrades, I will not tell you again those are my frags not yours. -

I really do not understand why any developer would say that it is ok for players to use "found" illegal items and open the door for this discussion. Just because you will not be banned, does it make it legit? Maybe the experiment is moving further into a debate on ethics and morality. Is player killing over cooperation bad? Who cares. Is cheating right or wrong? That is the real question. If you think the answer is it depends... So far as I have seen with this discussion here and in other threads, not a good look for this community.

It seems like a lot of ideas for creating a class system for dayz revolve around driving players together to group. Why not just group up, the benefits for doing so are already there. Limiting what a single player can do is not going to drastically alter these benefits to the point of making all players get along and play cooperatively. Really though who would want that? Find some people who play like you do, in game or out, and I am pretty sure the need to refine roles to classes and add limits to players' options in game will seem much less important.

I had a chicken follow me for a little while in berezino the other day. Eventually I grew attached to it and decided to defend it from zombies while waiting for my group to form up. Of course as soon as my "friends" show up they kill my pet chicken, so the nicest thing I have done lately is not murder them in a blind rage for fowl vengeance. With friends like these who needs chickens.
