    Idea: Random Air Drops

    Firstly, Dayz has had heli crashes, supply crate drops, and plane crashes. Battle Royale also has supply crate drops as well. So there is no "shameless ripoff". But... There has been mention of live helicopter crash (and similar events) events instead of having randomly place loot spawn. Sacriel talked about it with Dean during a Q&A. I think it is pretty obvious that random events need to be part of the finished DayZ experience. It promotes interesting character interaction and those wonderful "oh shit" moments. Personally, I would like to see NPC's like the helicopters that patrolled in Origins, and interesting things of that nature.

    Autorun for anyone with a Razer ultimate keyboard.

    if you have a keyboard with macro keys it probably has software designed to set an autorun. Otherwise, I'm sure you can download macro software. I tried the method mentioned above but it didn't work, but I did set a macro in the razer software. I don't really care about holding the button, but it starts to hurt my wrist after a while being stuck in that same position for long session. Razer synapse software is what I used.

    I'm pretty sure(I think) a headshot will put you out regardless of weapon.

    It would be cool if you could put it down and just smack it with your melee but it went down to 50% usage immediately.

    I thought the melee was complete crap at first but then I realized the two positions. Lowered position your weapon hits spot on. Raised position your weapon makes contact to your right side. Orient the enemy to your right side in most encounters and time the distance appropriately and you will hit every time. I can kill zombies in one swing most of the time now unless they leap at me.

    What do you think would happen to Rocket's vision if he asked for a giant development team? less money = less resources = more control more money = more resources = less control Not to mention they have been adding people to the development staff for a while, and also borrowing staff from Arma as Rocket has stated.

    This could easily be remedied by placing spawn points on the entire map (instead of just the coast), and when you log onto another server you are placed in random spawn. If you relog in the same server you are where you left off.

    Yeah, I haven't confirmed this personally. I just know he said that it would take 40 minutes from about half blood while fully sated. Maybe the system isn't working correctly yet. If eating gives you blood then eating a lot of food should begin to raise your blood.

    Rocket has stated you heal over time if your hunger and thirst is satisfied. I feel that having to rely on someone for bloodbag or IV is quite silly. It should be better if you use a partner but not impossible.

    I bet the system is loosely based on the project zomboid system wherein if you get sick you have to stay fully sated of hunger and thirst and not output too much energy and some ailments may pass. For instance drinking bad water would be a bacterial problem that you could probably outlast as long as you have some time and supplies. Vitamins probably make the process easier, and high nutrition fruit probably help too. I've also found antibiotics multiple times. They are not that rare. I recently found some charcoal tabs as well that would be good for poisoning. In reality an epi might help you if you were in shock from injuries or knocked out (as it normally is used). I think the only problems that couldn't be solved in the ways above would be any kind of viral infections. I have no idea if those exist in the game yet. Also, a hardcore infection like cholera might require meds or you would just die.

    Temporary solution to lack of HUD info

    Rocket you may have already planned something like this, but wouldn't it be pretty effective and cool if you used a color overlay effect coupled with audio and behavior indicators to indicate player state? For example, being dehydrated would tint the edges of your screen a slight blue color as you get blood loss it would eventually get lighter until you died. On top of that you pant very heavily. I think you already do pant very heavily when you are getting hungry and dehydrating. Also, your stomach should actual grumble as you get hungry and become more frequent as you get hungrier. If you are getting really hungry or thirsty maybe your player would start bending over and panting and grab his stomach as well. Using a color coded system would be cool imo. Greenish tint could indicate sickness, and if you had a fever maybe you get a reddish color. So a sick and feverish person would have an orange color with all the behavior and audio indicators necessary to convey that ailment. As they get closer to death the color would just get lighter as the whiteness from bloodloss adds too it. Red could indicate starvation with a pulsating dark red indicating heavy injury like a broken bone or a wound requiring surgery like a gunshot. Being stabbed or shot would also cause the player to cry out in pain, and the usual cracking noise for breaking your leg. Anyway, love the alpha and I'm excited for the future. Edit: I used the color red as an example for multiple states but you get the idea. Fever could be yellow instead of red.

    I think you should be able to self bloodbag and self saline yourself. You should just be forced to sit for a while as it works. Using a partner should be instant. It is dumb that I can't give myself an IV.

    Keep the hunger system the way it is. It should be a constant issue and it helps with camping mentality and creates a real survival mentality. but only certain tools are bad for opening a can really. Also, this...

    Standalone Loot Table Survey Idea

    It needs to be more authentic in that you can open a can of food with just about any tool. In reality you can just scrape the can on some asphalt and open it that way. Obviously they implemented the fix with all sharp tools being capable, but as of now it isn't working. As far as the loot not respawning until server restart I believe that spawns should be randomized to anywhere on the map instead of the coast. Putting spawns on the coast when the server has been up for 2 hours means that everyone is forced to run north towards the people who will have guns. Having spawns anywhere also balances what areas will be cleanly looted so the entire map should be balanced that way. Gun spawns are nowhere near perfect. It is from what I've seen impossible to find anything other than a mosin in a residential area. This is not a good mechanic. Pistols, rifles, and shotguns should be in residentials. Gun spawns should be higher and ammo spawn should be rare to the point that it is difficult to get a pack full of rounds. If you loot balota military base on server restart you will basically find more ammo than you can carry. It should be balanced better.
  22. You should slowly regenerate health over time if you remain full. Similar to the mechanic in Project Zomboid. Getting a transfusion is immediate. Both of these should fix the issue of losing color.
  23. You can tell people your name. Name tags break immersion and also make it so people can see you if you are hiding.

    Loot respawning on server restart is completely imbalanced if we all spawn on the coast. It means those who comes on restart are guaranteed high end gear and it encourages server hopping. It forces everyone to go inland directly at the guys who have high end gear. If they did what they were supposed to and spread the decent gear around the map then we should be spawning in random places on the map. The coastal spawn is purposeless except to make it very unfriendly for new spawns. Random spawning needs to be implemented among other balancing mechanisms.
