MK48 if you ask me. Same stopping power as a DMR, same projectile speed so its good for hitting targets at range, has a red dot scope so its quick / easy to aim. Decent accuracy while firing in bursts while crouching, extremely good accuracy and very low recoil when prone due to the bipod, 100 round box mags. The gun itself is painted in cammo... Not much that's bad about this gun really... I suppose its reasonably loud but that'd be it.

Four months? That's a very long time. Best I've managed is just over a month and in that time I had over 120 murders. I was eventually killed by a hacker unfortunately. They just nuked the server. It just seems strange that after living for 4 months you'd trust a complete stranger enough to ride a bus with them and not expect to be killed / betrayed.

That's a hell of a lot of gear for your first ever survivor... Did you spawn with it? Did someone give it to you?

I'm one of those asshole bandits you hate and speak of. All I do is murder everyone I see, bandit or not. I murder bandits because it doesn't affect my humanity and they usually have nice stuff. I murder survivors for my own entertainment. My favourite ones are the ones that scream "WHY!?!" after you murder them. You've just gotta be a jerk in general. Things like this: I ran into a room when a bandit was chasing me and there happened to be an innocent survivor in that room. He was aiming his gun at me so I called out over direct communication "Help there's a bandit chasing me!" and he says "ok ok I'm friendly I'll help you" and turns to face the door. I run into the corner and start to bandage myself as the bandit runs in and starts shooting at the friendly. I finish bandaging myself, and pop a few rounds in the back of the guys head that was helping me and finish off the bandit as he's still shooing at the friendly that's just fallen to the ground. 2 murders, 1 betrayal, and a whole lot of loot for me :) Another time I found a guy refulling his helicopter while his friend was on the rooftop of another building with another helicopter keeping watch. I watched for 30 seconds or so until the rooftop guy looked away over the other side and ran straight for the guy refuling the chopper. I only had a pistol at the time and figured my life was pretty exepdable so I didn't have much to lose, but they had everything to lose. I make it to the chopper unseen and start filling the guy full of lead. He panics and hops in the chopper and tries to take off. I put a few rounds in the side of his face then hop in the chopper myself. By this stage his friend is now shooting at me and hit me a few times but I wasn't dead yet. I took off and went straight up, tilted the chopper forwards and nose dived into the other chopper killing the other guy instantly as the chopper blew up. I was knoced unconscious but somehow lived as my chopper didn't explode even though the other one i hit did. I get out of the chopper, crawl for 5 seconds then my chopper and the building explode killing me and some other guy that was there which I didn't know about. Ahhhh the glory of being a bandit :) It's this sort of stuff that makes the game fun if you ask me.

Exactly what I was trying to say. Apparently you missed the point twice... Maybe it is you who is the "bonehead". If I want to shoot people for fun I can. There is no rule against it, and if there were I wouldn't be doing it. I've almost collected enough tears now to fill my salt water swimming pool...

I like how everyone assumes what i've been doing and how I got all my kills. Why don't you give that a go and see if you can get over 129 murders before being killed... Or are you too busy fighting giant space bugs to try Mr. Rico?

Players will always be much more of a challenge than zombies... That's why I think human controlled zombies would be awesome, but then again they'd be too smart to be zombies (in most cases at least... I hope!). Left 4 dead was a lot more fun when you had player controlled special zombies.

Actually I don't have a ghillie suit or hacked guns. I'm not a hacker. I also have a job, house, car, motorbike etc etc. You're just mad you didn't win the Olympics.

Tis but a flesh wound! Have you not seen the search for the holy grail? Are you the black knight? Frankly if you could even use the computer without arms I'd be impressed. So good luck with that.

You need at least 5 murders to count as a bandit (I believe), seeing as a lot of people don't go round murdering its not really that surprising.

Hello all, Sorry for the belated post, I've been quite busy recently. I'm posting to let you all know that the inevitable has happed. I, Xiroth, was killed last weekend...... by a hacker. Story below: So me and a friend were going about our usual murdering business. I had found myself a nice "overwatch" style spot and I was covering him as he went to investigate some high value industrial spawn locations for much needed vehicle parts. All of a sudden he starts getting shot at so he begins running sporadically towards the nearest cover he can see. I quickly scan the area in the direction of the gunshots, judging by the sound delay he would have been around 400-500m away. Sure enough I spot him quickly and line him up in the sights of my AS50. It appears to be some guy in a ghillie suit with what sounds / looks like an L85. I shoot 1 bullet, it hits him, he slumps to the ground dead. My kill count does not increase, no "xxx was killed" message pops up so I figure it must be lag. Change of plans, my friend starts to head towards the corpse to see what this guy has on him. It takes my friend a good minute or so to get to the body and my kill count still hasn't increased (murder or bandit kills)... a little odd, I begin to think... 'he's there dead, he didn't log out, his body is still there so I definitely shot and killed him.' I think to myself. My friend reaches the corpse and tells me he has every item in the game on his person. Every gun, every kind of ammunition and lots of it, lots of grenades etc etc. Clearly the guy i've just killed is a hacker (apparently one that I pissed off when I killed him). Literally a few seconds after he tells me the guy has everything, a message pops up in the middle of my screen which reads "LIVESTREAM BEING HACKED!!!!", I say to my friend "uhhh are you seeing this?" and he says yes, so I hit escape and click abort, but as soon as I do I see a mass amount of people get killed instantly, my characters legs break, I click ok and return to the menu screen. My friend was killed. I log into a different server and it asks me to select my gender, so apparently I was killed as well. Someone asked me to describe how it felt to be looking at the "YOU ARE DEAD" screen after living so long, killing so many people and having lost it all. Well... I didn't even get to see the "YOU ARE DEAD" screen, but I can tell you what I felt when I saw the "SELECT YOUR GENDER" screen instead. Initially, I was disappointed. Disappointed by the fact I was not killed by a legitamite player, disappointed I was not shot and killed by someone that deserved to kill me (one of you people). Then 10 seconds later, I laughed. How funny it was that this hacker had to nuke the server to get revenge on me... Mr hacker, your tears were... oh so delicious. Then a few seconds after that, I was relieved. Relieved that I no longer have to hide / watch my back. I've got nothing to lose now so it's time to have some fun! Luckily I spawned near Cherno, I found myself an axe, sprinted around attracting a massive zombie train until I found another newly spawned survivor. I ran at him and broke his legs with a swing of my hatchet but just as I stopped to do this a zombie kncoked me out, and we both got mauled to death by a giant pack of zombies. hearing both our characters scream as we were eaten alive was hilarious. I still love this game... Maybe now I'll try and see how many murders I can get with assault rifles only, or hatchets, or pistols... Looking forward to seeing you all around :) Edit: Final tally was 119 murders, 5 bandit kills, 27 days played. (no screenshot sorry :( )

Actually I logged into a server once where everything around me was on fire so I assume I caught the tail end of a nuke. I didn't stay around long enough to find out what was going on though... I also shot a hacker / scripter. This guy with a ghillie suit was sitting in the middle of a field near starry so I shot him as per usual, and when I inspected his gear he had an AS50TWS, and a second AS50 in his pack with shitloads of ammo... I left it all there of course, I want nothing to do with hacked items. You can probably get banned just by having it on you or something.

Help increasing my murder count, that is :)

Hey there Swineflew, my crew and I have actually been busy trying to locate a helicopter to no avail yet so no real increase in murders. Sitting on 115 at the moment, but that is bound to change this weekend as i plan on getting my hands extremely bloody. I'll try to record murdering someone in a somewhat humerous way just for you (and any others that get enjoyment out of it). You sir, have the photoshop skills of a dead cat.

The other day, before I posted the picture of me sniping a lone tree in the rain, we went to Cherno to get helicopter parts in preparation for the latest patch. I also heard this was a good place to find "bandits" that hunt freshies... And not one of these armed scumbags were a bandit (not even the guy in the ghillie suit or the other wearing cammo).... Oh and the unarmed guy on the left commited suicide by jumping off the building. Such a grand evening :) Seems like someone else had a similar idea of getting parts from cherno, too bad we found him first (video of that to come shortly). Now now I know what you're all going to say. "OMG Xiroth this proves it, you've been sniping noobs in Cherno you spawn camping / hopping scumbag." Well no matter what I say, people won't listen to it and will think whatever they like so I leave you with this message: Fuck you :)

Interesting.... Although humanity persists through death. So when I die, if someone shoots me as a fresh spawn they would get a bandit kill even if I haven't killed anyone yet.

I have the exact same problem. I shoot some guy that has an AS50, M4A1-CCO-SD, ghilie suit etc yet it counts as a murder. Surely people like him have killed enough people to be classified as a bandit... I'm starting to think that banditry is linked to your own humanity. So a small time bandit counts as a bandit kill for someone without many murders, but counts as a murder for bandits like us with many more murders... Probably not the case, but eh.
