Spawn system... and .... end system

Ya, these things are in-game already. I wouldnt be so quick to judge things based on what you see on Youtube.

    skateboards aaaaand scooters. yeeeew :P

Gezz....a skateboard? I barely made it out with my life trying to navigate a hill on a bicycle. I could see the death rate going up if those are added.

    Vehicles fixing themselves

Yup. Known bug. After you have done a repair on the vehicle (and not before), it will usually always repair itself after getting out/in. Assuming of coarse it didnt blow up completely.

    Brother's Laptop

Hmmm. With the video card and the sub 3Ghz CPU, i'm going to say the game will probably be borderline, if not completely, unplayable on that system. Cant hurt to try tho. Here is a basic rundown on the video cards preformance. http://www.notebookc...0G.71728.0.html Since that video card is pretty much exclusive to that CPU, im betting preformance in games will not be far off from frame rates shown on that website.

    Feign Death

Whadda ya think? Just roll over and fake being dead/unconcious. It may not fool a sharp player but could provide a way to survive situations you might normaly not make it out of. Doesnt work on z's of coarse, but in the heat of the moment a player may over look you if he/she knows there are others around or didnt have time to check the chatlog. Survived one encounter with bandits because I fell unconcious (low blood) near a few other dead survivors and they just passed right over me, chasing after another player that was making a run for it. Anyway, just throwing it out there, maybe something to concider for the standalone.

    Feign Death

Hmmm, I searched "feign death" and didnt find anything. Maybe they got deleted? anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Hit timer

So he should be searching for dead threads and resurrecting those instead?

    Planes?!?!

Good luck trying to hide one of those behind a tree.....

Infected Hearing - Pathing vs Aggro

on a side note, maybe bleeding should also attract zeds to a degree

Infected Hearing - Pathing vs Aggro

Ya, that does seem like a great idea. Aggro should only happen with direct line of sight. You could definatly increase thier hearing after. You will know after firing a few shots, you might be safe for bit, but hang around the area too long and you will find area crawling with zeds.

    Can't use crossbow correctly

I read elsewhere on the forum that the sight is way off when zoomed. Try joining a server with crosshairs turned on and try you luck with that. I found a could hit targets 30-50 feet out with out much trouble using only the CH.

    Killed by bugs.. Again.

I cant explain why you were kicked or why u lost so much health, but if you log out "in shock" (which as i understand lasts a while after being injured/shot, and is somewhat buggy), you will log back in unconcious for upto 5 mins.

    Ok. Time to get serious.

Hellz ya! Screew Dayz, lets go play some COD. **sarcasm**

    Stop complaining about 'hackers'

LOL. Why did I get sucked into this stupid troll thread, Im out.

    Stop complaining about 'hackers'

Maybe its best to point people to the right place to complain about hackers in arma2. http://www.battleye.com http://www.arma2.com lts honestly thier right to complain if they wish. With that said, I've never encountered a hacker in my 10+ years of playing Battlefield games (punkbuster). Im not saying they dont exist in BF, but the rareness of them shows the effort they put into it. Battlefield is more popular franchise btw, where u would expect just by numbers, to see more hackers. Yet I see some traces of hackers on a weekly basis here. You are right however, the basic design of the arma2 engine does make it difficult to stomp out hacking. Allot of work is done client-side, its really the only way to go with such a large game world. Im sure there are many competent people out there that would be willing to donate thier own time to the team, searching logs or whatever, in order to make the community a better place. There wont be much a community if people are continue to leave because of hacking. Its not even the small time hackers that bother me. Allot of them are just hacking to make the game a bit easier or more enjoyable to themselves, with no intent to bother anyone else. Its the malishious hackers that are pissing people off. Honestly now, the bad hackers should be very easy to root out and some effort should be made. They make themselves pretty obvious and it shouldnt be too hard to pick them out from the logs. Just find the guys nuking servers and such, I could care less about the guy who wants to hack a 'legit' gun into their hands and then play normaly with it, or even help others out. But something really has to be done about people who are just out there to grief and not even play/test the mod.

    Has Dayz gotten easier?

Zombies got stupid 2 patchs ago.....that will probably change. You'll probably notice there are more zombies alive at any give time on a server than before.
  17. Tents are kinda buggy atm. Its best to keep anything you wanna keep on yourself. Normaly tents will save whatever you put in there, and it will still be in there (on that server only). I've read that there is an issue with using the "Save tent" option that will cause the tent to not save properly. Tents supposidly last 6 days after death. Only you can repack the tent, if you havent died, but anyone can access the tent and use the save option. So it may be possible to keep the tent alive longer after death by re-saving it. You can drop items on the ground, but there is a time limit to how long droped items stick around. Something like 30 mins or an hour. Its pretty common for items to "glitch" under the ground when you drop them on a slope or in certain areas. They will definatly be gone if the server restarts. If you want to experiment with tents anyway, there probably a few rules to follow, to increase your luck with tents/other storage: 1.Always use the save option from the interaction menu everytime you touch the tent. (This might be bugged, but you can experiment saving/non-saving) This is an alpha test, try different things and report back to the forums if you find anything interesting that works for you. 2. Always log back in on the same server, if you can help it. 3.Try not to go too long without logging into your selected server. 4. Use the search funtion on this forum to find out what other player have to say about using tents. 5. Check out the wiki for basic info like this before posting (http://dayzwiki.com/) (http://dayzwiki.com/....php?title=Tent) -You can edit the wiki youself if you find out of date/wrong/missing info.

    Tents?

I think loot found in new vehicles is, for the most part, randomized. There is a chance that it spawned with a tent in it.
  19. Flacidman

WTF!!!! A glitch gave me 2 characters

There has been issues with random roll-backs on servers the last few patchs (related to sudden disconnects mostly, but not exclusively). Theres not much to do about it right now, execpt to try and find a more stable server and not get attached to your gear. Its also possible you may have logged into a private-hive server, which stores your gear independantly from official servers. These servers are frowned upon by the developers btw, so be mindful what servers you join.

    Tents

Wouldnt the raider just take vehicle then? It would take an army of men to clear out full a tent+vehicle. Its accually called the Hive not saving your gear..... Most raiders wont take off with the crap loot. Its pretty easy to tell the server took a crap on your stuff when even your road flares/tincans/shotgun with no ammo are all gone, but the off-road pickup ,ATV, or whatever other vehicle you had (fixed and fueled) its still sitting there beside your tent. Perhaps theres a small chance a single guy with a vehicle took all the gear stashed in a tent 20 mins from the nearest town, but didnt have another guy with him to drive the vehicle away. I find it unlikely that this is the case every single time. And what relevence does this have to the OP anyway?
  21. Flacidman

    Tents

Your suppost to be able to load the packs up with gear and put them in, but at this point the contents arnt reliably saved like any other container. ie tents/cars. Seems like the gear vanishs after restart or if you've left the area too long.

    Heli chrashsites loot

Sometimes its glitched into the ground, it helps to wander around looking at the ground a bit to see if you can get the gear option to show up.

    Yellow/Red Chains

    Connection issues.
  25. Although the benifits of playing private servers sounds nice, I think playing the game under the devolopers terms is only fair while its still in alpha/beta. Im sure It goes a long way in helping them if you play in the enviroment they have setup for us. It gives them a better idea of what players are doing. At the same time, if you got people paying on these moddified servers and then reporting back bugs that didnt happen on an official up-to-date server, its just wasting the developers time. Maybe in the near future they will allow server owners to choose wether or not thier "world" is independant from the rest, while still saving data to the Hive. Pro and cons of an off-site database are clear to most of us here. If the mod continues to be popular, I can see running a central database like that becoming expencive. Thats a good reason to move stuff server side. Eithey way, ill stick to official servers. That gives me the option to avoid hackers, not get stuck on an out-of-date server when new content comes out, and if the server becomes bogged down, I can move to a new-one with what I have on me. Its a no brainer for me and it shows a bit of respect for getting a free game. That said, sometimes people dont have much time to enjoy a good game, and if the only time they can get on to play, the hive happens to be down, I wouldnt blame them for joining a private server.
