Once DayZ standalone ALPHA flies off the shelves, tell me what will be the incentive for him to take it out of alpha, into beta then finally into a bug free final product? Someone earlier in the thread said it but I want to echo that statement so I can refer back to this post in the future. This game will never make it to "finished product".

Yea what he meant to say was that there are no negative consequences for the dupers. The only thing stopping me from doing the same thing is that it makes the game horribly boring very quickly. But these guys seem to have a clan built around the concept so if they can keep it interesting for themselves I wouldnt fault them; if anything I would fault BE or Rocket, but I dont because that kind of shit doesnt bother me.

I think it is vehicle related. I crashed a truck into a tree and immediately broke my bones, started bleeding and was promptly kicked from server for script #55.

How do you activate the rangefinder? I looked on the wiki and it doesnt even tell you, but instead just says that they take the slot of the binocs (which isnt true, it takes the NVG slot)

quick man i need to know how to fill a jerry can i am at a gas stattion with a small whte tank and 2 large grey tanks how do i fill the jerry can, is it mouse wheel context menu or right click --> refill like a canteen? is there a specific spot i need to stand?

Is it worth the time / effort to report servers that get locked immediately after a restart for about 5 minutes? Ive noticed it happens sometimes and I dont even know if this is admin abuse or something the servers do automatically or what. The reason I think it may be abuse is because after the 5 minutes were up I joined the server with some friends anyway and we looted the town but I got sniped in a grocery store from across the street. I lost my DMR but managed to respawn back at town and run back to the grocery store and retrieve my DMR thanks to my friends suppressive fire. However I still managed to get sniped again because I was in the same spot for too long looting unnecessary shit from my corpse. This time though they locked the server again until (I presume) they looted my DMR and exited the server.

Hey guys does anyone know what happened to server "DayZ - US 135"? I played on it a bit and enjoyed my time there hopefully I can continue to play there under its new name, whatever that may be.

Is it possible for the Lee Ensfield NOT to one shot someone from full health? Like is there maybe damage fall off over distance? The reason I asked is that I shot someone once from really far away and dropped him and got the murder. When I went for his friend who was standing right over him, I shot him and he went down (but maybe he went prone because I didnt get the kill) and when I got up to where the bodies were I only saw one.

I'd pay $60 if I knew there wouldnt be a cash shop. I'd still pay $60 even if I expected an expansion pack.

UPDATE: That second character finally died and now I have my originial guy back :D

Happened to me too last night. I reconnected to that server and then tried other servers as well, but it was still a new character not my old one. So I waited till this morning and tried again on yet another server and it was still a new character so I am just playing with him now. While all this was happening I was playing with a friend and last night his character was fine but when he logged in to play with me this morning he too had a new character.

You only need operation arrowhead. You can download the demo for arma 2 and then install OA. Theres an installation wiki that walks you through it. Yes it is worth it. Especially if you have friends and doubly so if you are mature and realize that it is still in alpha and there will be horrible bugs that cause you to die and lose all of your shit through no fault of your own.

Because its very easy to update to a new patch that is broken and some of us would like to downgrade to the previous known working patch to continue playing.
