Anyone that believes the vaporware game DayZ standalone will be there before Christmas 2018 is either very dumb or very naive. Even IF it gets released it's way too late, the hype is already over anyway. Every month you'll see a rocket topic where he asks himself the question Why the lack of information? Answer: Because they're not doing anything.

I play the mod every single day for lots of hours, only Taviana though on 1.7.4.4. On our server we just removed the ability for the zombies to run which already makes this game so much better. People love it. No more zombies with hawk eye vision and sonar spotting you from 2 miles away and running after you for another 4 miles and then hitting you from 10ft away through a stone wall. In Left 4 dead zombies are fun, they are more natural and it's really fun to blow their heads off. In Day Z the zombies are just annoying and that's it. Yes they knock you down right now a lot of the times so they are more dangerous but does that make me scared of them? No I think they're still just annoying and they look even more annoying in the E3 video. For me a zombie apocalypse would be more like the walking dead series, massive amounts of normal to normal-fast walking zombies so that you get surrounded at one point and run out of ammo instead of a few zombies with rambo powers. In fact it's like the #1 rule in any zombie apocalypse, zombies have strength because of their numbers not because of their individual strength. Anyway it's not only the zombies it's the textures, it's the inventory system, it's the clothing, it's almost everything. Like I said: If this is the result of 1 year developing with Bohemia (where the mod was without the help of Bohemia) then I don't have my hopes up high. And then when I read in some other post that Rocket is tired of the entire zombie genre and wants to create something else, ouch. I bet when you play the alpha and you shoot a zombie in its leg it will still say "Oh fuck that hurts!". Day Z standalone will be on top of my vaporware list right now. Let's call it Day Z forever. I don't care though, I think the mod is perfect as it is. We can modify it ourselves, there's an entire community behind it. It would be really hard for standalone to beat that anyway. -

Ouch the standalone looks horrible so far. The zombies look far worse than in the mod version. Jumping zombies what are they thinking? If this is the result of a year long work on dayz standalone then I don't have my hopes up high. This will probably take another few years to develop and make the game actually playable. -
Normally this would really bother me as well because I think the zombies are annoying enough already (I'm more of a PvP player) but luckily there are enough private hives still running 1.7.4.4 or 1.7.6.1 so you always have a choice in what you play :)

That's what I'm scared off, if the console version is a huge sale hit it will become the leading version and everything will be optimized and built for the console and ported to the PC. That would be a nightmare. -

Development will go even slower then it is already right now and I'm so scared that the console with its low-end hardware (yes, even the PS4) will hold back the PC version.

I don't care when it gets released, we still have the mod to play in the meantime which is great already and keeps getting better. I rather have it take a couple of months longer and have a really good game than something like the War Z which I spend money on and only played for a couple of minutes to find out that I can't even cross a river and have to walk around it (that game is really awful compared to Day Z). Btw. I can't believe people actualy think the war z has something to do with day z, that's just stupid. If people are that stupid they just deserve to get burned, I did but I at least knew it was a totally different game. Anyway, can't wait for the standalone version and go public hive again with my servers! -

New US Server (Chicago) - Expert/Whitelist

We have two DayZ instances online right now, one in EU (Amsterdam) and one in US (Chicago). Both with the latest hardware and 1 gbps connections. Both servers share the same hive, vehicles and loot locations are per server just like the public hive. Server is expert, which means no 3DP or kill messages. Side channel is enabled though. We run realistic time, so servers have the exact same time in game as the city they are in (GMT -6 & GMT +1). To whitelist, enter your guid and nickname here: http://whitelist.mgftw.com. You will then be auto whitelisted (Whitelist is reloaded every 15 minutes). US server IP: dayz-us.mgftw.com port 2302 (204.188.252.147). EU Server IP: dayz.mgftw.com port 2302 (213.247.35.41). We are now running a 24/7 Namalsk server (Day Z latest Bliss 4.0 built / 1.7.3, latest Arma patch) in Amsterdam on a gigabit network link and fast hardware (E3-1270, 16 GB RAM, RAID10 disks). Our hive database runs on an external Linux server. Backups are being made every day and stored off-site. We run everything on Expert, so no 3DP or kill messages this is the real deal like the game should be. Side channel is enabled though. PvP is allowed. Our server restarts automatically every 4 hours to keep it running smooth (with pre-warning). We run a fairly big community so admins are usually available 24/7 and we constantly check log files for suspicious behavior. Hi all, I'm using Bliss 3.6 for my Private Hive and want to run the Namalsk map, however I can't find a decent vehicle spawn locations file/script. I've tried importing this one: http://download.nightstalkers.cz/dzn/namalsk_spawns.sql but it gives SQL errors. ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 23: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ALTER TABLE `spawns` ENABLE KEYS */' at line 36 Can anybody give me a SQL dump of their spawn table? I would really appricatie it. Thanks!!

Private Hive server (NL) Expert/Whitelist - Great perfomance and support

Private Hive DayZmod Integration Project

+1 for Bliss as we are currently running it for our private hive. It's clean, professional. Great support and they fix a lot of bugs as well. They have a website, forum, bug tracker etc. -
I'm sorry to report that we have to shutdown NL 20 and NL 13 for now. With the amount of cheating and hacking going on there's no point anymore to run public hive connected servers. Playing a fair game on such servers is simply not possible right now and due to the lack of decent logging capabilities we are unable to keep our servers clean. Hackers are simply not detected. We will continue to run our private hive though, however we will force a strict whitelist policy on that server which means you have to request access in order to play on that server.
