    Stuck at Loading screen!!

I get this, but only when I have low bandwidth (when I am being throttled). When my internet is faster I have no problem getting past it.

Can anyone here gift me Arma 2 on steam?

You're story doesn't really add up but you could try r/randomkindness or r/randomactsofgaming on reddit if you really need. Those folks may help.

    worth dying and restarting?

Might we worth seeking help, the are some good folks at the reddit rescue force that are often willing to help out dying survivors if they are near by. If you have a reddit account it could be worth checking out.

    Confused and Annoyed Newb

Yes, beta works on all versions. Just make sure it's the latest non-beta version first (steam does that auto). In depth install guide: http://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-install-dayz-with-arma-2-free.html (I wouldn't use a youtube vid). Be sure to run both games once (to the main menu) before installing the beta patch. Beta patch: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php I have friends who did it with the free version, it does work. Good luck.

    Waiting for Character To Create

It's a common issue, it usually means the dayz servers are down (they were getting DDoS'd yesterday or the day before, not sure what the update on that is). Changing server might help (look for ones with the most people on). Otherwise wait it out. I can sometimes get on 20 minutes after or so, sometimes I have to give it a few hours or play at off-peak times.

I KNOW you're an exploiter if you disagree

"Also, there is never a 100% 'safe' place to log out, someone could find your body after you logged out and kill you." True, but lying prone in a bush is pretty damn sneaky. It would have to be one in a million for someone to walk into you. Slightly different in a town but you could always log out, out of town. "Internet issues shouldn't be considered at all. If you don't have proper internet in your area, look for another hobby or move to an area that supplies what you need for your hobby." Not so easy for some, especially those who are less well off, or those who aren't the home owner. Also it's easy to have this opinion if you have good internet. It's a much different matter for those who actually have the issues. Anyway I think the timer (if it was ever added) should be relatively short - and if you take damage in this time the timer is greatly extended. This prevents you logging out on the run from zombies or while being shot - while leaving you less prone to attacks when disconnected (providing you aren't being hit). It's also just a general convenience having a shorter disconnect time when you are actually safe. And I agree with everything wired says above.

I live in the UK, and stop being so ignorant. I don't have a choice, BT owns the exchange and is the company that throttles me. I literally have no option bar moving house - and I'm not moving house to play a video game. I didn't say I wasn't against the suggestions, I just was making a point that you just proved.

"The truth is that it's 2012 and internet connections don't suck anymore." Hahaha, you are incredibly naive.
