i always change servers when the FPS gets all jacked up. sometimes they start out nice then get all fuxord.

yea, some servers will say 4pm but when u get in them it will be like 10pm. just mark a note on the server in dayz commander letting yourself know the time is different than it says.

goto buildings. anywhere u can see some type of house, shed, or barn. after dieing 100's of times u'll know exactly where to run and what is where. -

i would never head north without morphine, painkillers, bandages, food, and drink... a bigger backpack to carry them in also. makes the trip a lot easier. -
use dayz commander, sort by night only. simple that way.

no, look at the maps online. http://dayzdb.com/map just alt-tab or play in windowed fullscreen mode. that's what everyone else does. i would rather start with a compass.

run into a building with 2 exits... as soon as they enter they start walking slow. wait for them to all gather then jet out the opposite exit. once u get distance between u and the building, hide out prone out of view till u know they aren't following anymore.
