So I found a Mountain Dew, was wondering if anyone would like to trade for this, I understand it has at least some value. Trying to figure out a reasonable return for this. Any interest/offers?

Replied.

Right sorry. The CCO, yeah. Last three slots you could throw in another NVG, but other than that I dont need anything.

I'm currently a fresh spawn rocking nothing but a Czech pack and a revolver. Don't really give a shit if I die, it's worth a try. Besides, I have some friends that can watch my back.

I'm not 100% sure what I can get for it. What would you offer? It's not worth much to me, but I'm gonna do my best to get the most I can out of it.

Go play League of Legends, then come back and talk to me about shitty communities. -
Alright guys, maybe some of you will share in the feeling of happiness that I'm feeling right now, maybe not. Maybe you'll think I'm an asshole. Regardless, I'm going to tell this story. After a successful 3 man raid of the NW airfield (we only lost one of us, while killing 2) me and my other teammate were headed back to Cherno to meet up with our freshly respawned friend. We've got some nice gear. A SAW, M4CCO, BizonSD, coyote pack, and lots of medical supplies between us. Wanting to provide some cover for our buddy who was going to raid Cherno for supplies, we head up to the top of the industrial buildings to snipe armed, unsuspecting players. After picking off a couple of guys and not quite nailing 2 others, we're starting to feel a little unsafe. We're pretty sure we've been seen. Knowing how prominent server hoping is, (and never taking part in this pathetic play) we heighten our senses and prepare for the worst. Within 2 minutes, I'm shot from behind. Unconscious, with 3k blood. The guy had zoned in onto the roof with us after a server jump. My friend manages to kill him, but he too is also low on blood now. He gives me a bloodbag and works on getting himself bandaged. Before he is finished, he's killed. Another guy is now on top of the building. Just zoned in. Frantically waiting for my timer to finish so I can wake up, I'm shot and killed. Now very pissed off, me and my friend decide that it's worth a shot to try and head back up and maybe salvage what we can/kill the dudes. My friend, a few minutes ahead of me, finds a crowbar near the factory area. Soon after, he spots one of the guys on top of the roof, scanning the area. Unseen, he climbs the ladder up to the top of the building, figuratively shitting his pants. "BEAT HIM WITH THE CROWBAR" Im yelling at him. "IM GONNA SEE WHAT I CAN DO" he replies. "HOLY SHIT BRO THEYRE BOTH HERE WHADDOIDO" he yells, as he reaches the top. "WHADDARETHEYDOING" I ask. "THEYRELOOTINGOURBODIESOMGIMGOINGTHEYCANTSEEME" he says. He approaches them from behind, loots our CZ from one of their backpacks as they study our bodies, and shoots one of them. The other prones, for some retarded reason, and rotates trying to spot my friend, hilariously. My friend shoots him. He killed them both. We got our stuff. I cannot express how much I was fucking laughing as we pulled this off. I may be a Cherno sniperfag... but fuck you, server jumpers. fuck you.

I think it's pretty safe to say we're going to be a HELL of a lot more careful if we'll go sniping now, if at all.

Worth picking up ARMA 2: Combined Operations for this?
Brownee replied to Fryseboks's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's what I did. Maybe the best $30 I ever spent, and I've never touched ARMA itself. -
If they take out 3rd person I will be immensely disappointed. The FOV in first person is just too limited. That aside, I use loot maps all the time. It's way too fun to plan a route with your buddies.

Try to spawn near Cherno or Elektro. Once there, search residential buildings (houses, churches) for a handgun. Barns spawn shotguns and rifles. Once you're in a city, finding a gun should not take long.

Once your blood hits 6k, does the infection go away on its own? -
IF a zombie apocolypse really did happen

Have you ever looked a man in the eyes and then shot him? Snuffed the life right out of him, erased his existence? No? Oh. Okay. -
I'm gonna go with this one.

I'll try not to make this a typical "hur dur why does everyone shoot on sight" thread, as it doesn't take much lurking to realize that those are far too common. I intend to argue the idea that getting shot on site occurs "all" the time. I've had DayZ for about 2 weeks, playing it for a few hours a day. So while I may not have as much experience as a lot of other people, I feel as if I have encountered enough to talk about this issue. People claim that getting shot on sight is something that is everywhere. However, in my travels, this has not been the case. I've been alone, in a group, with a weapon, without a weapon, in cities, outside of cities. It seems to make no difference. When I see another player in my vicinity, my chances of getting shot on sight seem to be up to a coin toss. Just yesterday I was on the outskirts of Cherno, preparing to enter the apartment buildings. I scan to my right and see a player pointing his Enfield right at me. In situations like this, my first response (assuming I'm at a tactical disadvantage) is to yell out to them over my mic. So I did. In a panic. "WHATS UP BRO DONT SHOOT ME BRO I LOVE YOU". He seemed startled, and responded saying that he wouldn't shoot me. We ended up teaming up until I broke my leg in a doorway. In almost every situation like this, being able to communicate over my mic has saved my life. Even in situations where people don't respond, talking/yelling into your mic can buy you time to think/act, because people will very rarely shoot you until they've heard what you've had to say, in my experiences. I can count on one hand the amount of times I have been shot on sight in all situations. More often than not, I'm able to either talk my way out of being shot, or talked long enough to enable myself to kill THEM. So this raises a question for me. Do people who get shot on sight (and then subsequently complain about it on the forum) not have mics? Do they not use their mics? Am I just really lucky with the people I've run into? If you guys have mics and aren't using them in these tense situations, I'd highly recommend trying them out. Maybe you are, and I'm just at a loss as to why I don't get shot all the time. Anyone else have any similar experiences/results? I'd be happy to hear. TL;DR: yelling over my mic stops me from getting shot on sight, have the people complaining tried this?

Even after being "betrayed" like this, I still wouldn't shoot on sight. Just try to guess their intentions, and keep eyes on them. Anything suspicious, then blast them. At that point you shot them, yes, but at least its not on sight, which makes shooting them that much more of an experience. If you play it smart, shooting on sight isn't something that's necessarily required. And you get the benefit of having let someone live, if that's your thing. Makes me feel like I've made a difference.
