I've found that getting help on TS3 is far faster and easier than making a ticket and waiting. The sad part about Arma2 servers in general, and with the additional DayZ restrictions, is that even a lot of very basic things require the server host to be involved. I suspect a full dedicated server would be far easier to maintain.

On a related note, get an RCon client (BERCon or RCon GUI). That will let you announce without having to load up the game.

There are scripts that hackers can use to send messages to all players. One gave everyone on one of my servers M4A2 CCO SDs and said "Enjoy the pretty guns" to everyone. It showed up centered and quite visible. AFAIK I can't send that style of message. So please stop blaming everything on admins.

Server providers aren't allowed to give hosts full access, so we have to wait for the providers to update our servers for us. We shouldn't be punished for not having an up to date server when we aren't allowed to update them ourselves.Those servers you're seeing at the most recent patches are dedicated, not managed (pro tip: 90% of all servers are managed)

Yeah you just have to bug them a lot. I was on the other night when they were pushing 95054 updates. It takes a while to update all the servers, but it gets done.

Helicopters have this annoying habit of desyncing and dropping you many hundreds of meters to the ground where you promptly die. I imagine that's why they were removed.

My characters are all sociopaths and give no fucks about killing people or social interactions. Tell your overwatch friends to stop being bad. Don't kill someone and sit around. Move after each kill. Additionally, overwatch shouldn't be provided from INSIDE the city. You stated you have multiple people sniping; position them around the outskirts of the city so you have areas you want to go to covered. Being outside the city, there are better places to hide. Use strategy instead of being bad and thinking the solution is to implement teleporting. The solution is to stop being bad.

I can't handle getting shot. I just want to deal with infected, not players. All I really want to do is loot places. Therefore when someone kills me they should arbitrarily immediately be extremely visible to everyone else because they are mean.

Kicking dirt onto a small fire will put it out and prevent smoldering (and additional smoke after being put out) so this suggestion is not good

Atlanta 69 has the same desync issues. It crashed one point on Tuesday and 6 of us in the car logged back in at different places/times. I spawned with the gear I had and at the location I was at minutes before the crash, while others from my group spawned on the other side of the map with gear they had 3 hours previously.

I admin for a HFB server (Atlanta 69). They have pretty great control, access to a lot of files, pretty cheap, and decent stability. Haven't worked with tech support (another admin does that) but from what I hear it's snappy. Unfortunately they are Out of stock atm :|
